የእጽዋት መኖ ምርቶችን በጉድጓድ ወይም በጎተራ በመጠቅጠቅ እንዲብላላ በማድረግ በከብቶች እንዲበላ እና በሆዳቸው ውስጥ በጥሩ ሁኔታ እንፈጭ የሚደረግበት ዘዴ ነው፡፡

የገፈራ አዘገጃጀት (Silage Preparation)

ገፈራ አንዱ የእፅዋት መኖ ነው፡፡ የሳር የቅጠላቅጠል እና እህል አገዳዎች በዝናብ ወይም በመስኖ በማልማት እና በሚያብበት የእድሜ ደረጃቸው በመቁረጥ፣ በመቀረጣጠፍ እና በሰፋፊ ጉድጋዶች በመቅበር መኖ እጥረት ሊከሰትበት ይችላል ብለን በምናስብበት ለበጋ ወራት የሚዘጋጅ ወተት ከብቶች ዘንድ ተወዳጅ የሆነ መኖ ነው፡፡ ስለሆነም በውስጡ የሚገኙትን እንደ ሀይል ሰጪ፣ ፕሮቲን፣ ቫይታሚኖች እና ማእድናትን ሳይበላሹ ለብዙ ጊዚያት ለማከማቸት የሚያስችል ዘዴ ነው፡፡

ገፈራ(silage) አብዛኛውን ጊዜ ከበቆሎ ወይም ዘንጋዳ አዝመራ የሚዘጋጅ ሲሆን በተመሳሳይ ደረጃ ከተለያዩ እጽዋት መኖዎች ከሱፍ ተክል እና ከጥራጥሬ እህሎች መዘጋጀት ይችላል፡፡ መርሳት የሌለብን ነገር ቢኖር ከፍተኛ ጥራት ያለው ገፈራ ከበቆሎ እና ዘንጋዳ የሚዘጋጅ ገፈራ ነው፡፡

ገፈራው ከሌሎች ሳሮች የሚዘጋጅ ከሆነ ግን የስታርች ይዞታቸው አነስተኛ ስለሚሆን እና ገፈራውን እንዲብላላ የሚያደርጉት ፕሮቦዮቲክስ (Probiotics) ለማደግ እና ለመብዛት የሃይል ምንጭ ስለሚያንሳቸው ይህንን ለማሙላት ገፈራውን በሚጠቀጠቅበት ወቅት የ30 ሴ.ሜ ጥቅጣቆ ሞላሰስ ማደበላለቅ ያስፈልጋል፡፡ 15 ኪ.ግ ሞላሰስ ለ1ቶን ገፈራ የሚሰጥ ይሆናል::

የኢፌዲሪ ቴክኒክና ሙያ ስልጠና ኢንስቲትዩት የ12ኛ ሳምንት የጥናትና ምርምር ሴሚናር በዶሮ እርባታ ላይ እና በግንባታ መስክ የእሴት ሰንሰለት ትንተና ላይ ትኩረታቸውን ባደረጉ ሁለት ጥናቶች ላይ ተመስርቶ ተካሄደ።

የኢንስቲትዩቱ የጥናትና ምርምርና ማህበረሰብ አገልግሎት ም/ዋና ዳይሬክተር ዶ/ር ሐብታሙ ሙሉጌታ ባለፉት ወራት በአምስቱ የመንግስት የትኩረት ሴክተሮች ላይ ትኩረት ተደርጎ የእሴት ሰንሰለት ትንተና ጥናቶች እየተሰሩ መሆኑን አስታውሰው የሚሰሩ ጥናቶች ከባለድርሻ አካላት ጋር በትብብር የሚሰሩበት ሁኔታ እየተጠናከረ ነው ብለዋል።

ዘርፉ በቴክኒክና ሙያ ሥርዓት ውስጥ ትልልቅ ስራዎችን መስራት በሚያስችል ሁኔታ እየተደራጀ እንደሚገኝ ገልጸው የበጀት ዓመቱን ቀጣይ ስድስ ወራት ከፍ ባለ ሁኔታ ጥናትና ምርምሮች ይቀጥላሉ ብለዋል።

በእለቱ መጀመሪያ የኢንስቲትዩቱ የአግሮፕሮሰሲንግ ፋካሊቲ ባልደረቦች ከባለድርሻ አካላት በትብብር ያዘጋጁትን እና Value Chain Analysis of Skill Gaps and Technology Demands in the Poultry Sector to Develop Training Programs የሚል ርዕስ የተሰጠውን ጥናት ዶ/ር ዜና ኪዳኔ አቅርበዋል።

አገራችን በዶሮ ቁጥር ከአፍሪካ ናይጀሪያን ተከትላ ሁለተኛ አገር ስትሆን ዘርፉ በምግብ ራስን ለመቻል እና ለገቢ ማስገኛ በተለይም ለሴቶች ተመራጭ ዘርፍ ነው። በአገራችን ቁልፍ የኢኮኖሚ መሰረት ለሆነው የግብርና ሴክተር 45 በመቶውን ድርሻ የሚያበረክተው የእንስሳት እርባታ ዘርፍ ሲሆን በግብርናው መስክ ከሚሳተፈው የሰው ሐይልም 35 በመቶው የሚሳተፈው በዚሁ መስክ ነው ይላል ጥናቱ።

በጥናቱ እንደተመላከተው በአገራችን የደሮ እርባታ ዘርፍ በአሁኑ ጊዜ አበርክቶው ዝቅተኛ ቢሆንም ከጊዜ ወደጊዜ እየተሻሻለ እና እየዘመነ ይገኛል። መንግስትም ለዘርፉ ለውጥ ትልቅ ትኩረት ሰጥቶ እየሰራበት ይገኛል። በቅርብ ጊዜያት በትኩረት እየተሰራበት የሚገኘው የሌማት ትሩፋት ለዘርፉ መለወጥ ቁልፍ ሚና እንዳለውም ተመላክቷል።

ይሁንና በዘርፉ የዘመነ ቴክኖሎጂ አለመኖር እና የሠለጠነ የሠው ሐይል እጥረት ትልቅ ማነቆ በመሆኑ ለጥናቱ አንድ አነሳሽ ምክንያት እንደሆነ ዶ/ር ዜና በጥናታቸው ገልጸውታል።

በጥናቱ ላይ በተገኘው ግኝትም የደሮ መኖ ማቀነባበር ላይ፣ ጫጩት ማስፈልፈል ላይ፣ ደሮ እርባታ ላይ በአጫጭር እና በረጅም ጊዜ ስልጠና እንደሚያስፈልግ እና ዘርፉን የሚያዘምኑ ቴክኖሎጂዎችን ማምረትም እንደሚገባ ተመላክቷል። ስለሆነም ኢንስቲትዩቱ በዘርፉ የስልጠና ፕሮግራሞችን ከፍቶ ብቁ ዜጎችን እንዲያወጣ በሚል ተቀምጧል።

በመቀጠል የግንባታ ዘርፍ ላይ ትኩረቱን ያደረገ ፕሮፖዛል "Analyzing and Enhancing the Supply Chain of the Ethiopian Construction Industry: Economic Conditions, Disruptions, Causes, Impacts, Mitigation Strategies, and Value Chain Engineering " በሚል ተዘጋጅቶ በተመራማሪ ቻላቸው ቀርቧል።

የግንባታ ዘርፍ እያደገ ላለው የአገራችን ለኢኮኖሚ ቁልፍ ዘርፍ ሲሆን ዘርፉ ሠፊ የስራ እድል የሚፈጠርበትም ዘርፍ ነው። ይህንን ያህል ቁልፍ ዘርፍ ቢሆንም በርካታ ማነቆዎች ያለበት እንደሆነ ተገልጿል።

ፕሮፖዛሉን መሠረት በማድረግ የሚጠናው ጥናት በዘርፉ ከሚስተዋሉ ችግሮች መካከል የግብአት አቅርቦት ላይ የሚስተዋሉ ችግሮችን ለመፍታት የሚያስችል ምቹ መደላድል ለመፍጠር ያስችላል ተብሏል።

Agricultural professional societies in Ethiopia: how they can serve as a national think-tank for agricultural transformation

A national event was organized by the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute (ATI) on 3rd December, 2022 to discuss about how the different agricultural professional societies can work together for better contribution to the agricultural sector transformation meanwhile promoting their respective profession in education, research and development.

Representatives of the agricultural professional societies reported that their main roles have been promotion of their respective profession through active engagement of scientific documentation and policy advocacy. The main tools are (i) regular organization of annual conferences where members present and share recent scientific evidences along with sharing of the evidences through regular publication of proceedings of the annual conferences, (ii) managing the regular publication of scientific journals, and (iii) operationalization of websites for up-to-date information sharing.

In Ethiopia, professional societies are expected to operate legally through official registration at the Authority for Civil Society Organizations (ACSOs). Currently, there are twelve agricultural professional societies in Ethiopia. These are:

1. Ethiopian Society of Soil Science
2. Ethiopian Forestry Society
3. Ethiopian Fisheries & Aquatic Sciences Association
4. Plant Protection Society of Ethiopia
5. Ethiopian Association of Agricultural Professionals
6. Ethiopian Society of Rural Development and Agricultural Extension
7. Agricultural Economics Society of Ethiopia
8. Ethiopian Society of Horticulture
9. Ethiopian Veterinary Association
10. Ethiopian Society of Animal Production
11. Crop Science Society of Ethiopia
12. Ethiopian Weed Science Society

The societies operate through generation of financial resource from annual member contributions and solicitation of finance from development partners. In terms of performance, some are active where all planned activities are performed and others operate irregularly depending up on the commitment of their respective leadership and members. The key driver of performance was reported to be the commitment of members and leadership.

Even though the different professional associations have considerably contributed in promoting their respective profession, it was reported that their engagement in influencing development agenda was very low. Accordingly, the key objective of the event was to discuss and come up with possible options related to how to synergize and collaborate among the societies for improved influence through active engagement with policy makers mainly with the Ministry of Agriculture.

Following the long deliberation, the participants agreed to establish some sort of formal alliance of societies of agricultural professionals that will formally serve as a think-tank for the MoA. How the alliance will be officially setup along with its terms of reference was agreed to be drafted by a taskforce nominated during the workshop. The taskforce is expected to benchmark international experiences and to consult all professional societies and the MoA to come up with the draft for final approval by all professional societies.

If well established, the alliance will serve as one of the main entry points for scaling and mainstreaming of evidence of agricultural innovations demonstrated by different organizations including SWR Ethiopia.

በሕዝብ ተወካዮች ምክር ቤት የግብርና ጉዳዮች ቋሚ ኮሚቴ የእንሰሳት ጤና እና ደህንነት ረቂቅ አዋጁ መሻሻል ኢትዮጵያ ከእንስሳት ሀብት የላቀ ጥቅም እንድታገኝ የሚያግዝ እንደሆነ ገልጿል።

ቋሚ ኮሚቴው ይህንን የገለጸው በዛሬው እለት በእንሰሳት ጤና እና ደህንነት ረቂቅ አዋጅ ላይ የአስረጂዎች መድረክ ባካሄደበት ወቅት ነው። የግብርና ጉዳዮች ቋሚ ኮሚቴ ሰብሳቢ የተከበሩ አቶ ሰለሞን ላሌ የዚህ አዋጅ መሻሻል የእንሰሳት ዘርፉን ምርትና ምርታማነትን በማሳደግ የዜጎችን የምግብ ዋስትና ከማረጋገጥ ባለፈ የተሻለ የውጭ ምንዛሬ ማስገኘት የሚችል መሆኑን አስገንዝበዋል።

በግብርና ሚኒስቴር የህግ አገልግሎት ስራ አስፈጻሚ አቶ በለጠ ሰይፉ ረቅቅ አዋጁን ማሻሻል ያስፈለገው ስራ ላይ ያለው አዋጅ ለረጅም ጊዜ ያገለገለ በመሆኑ፣ የእንሰሳት ጤና ላብራቶሪዎችን ለማዘመን፣ ተላላፊ በሽታውን ለመከላከል እና የእንሰሳት ጤና ባለሙያዎች እውቅና እንዲያገኙ የህግ ማዕቀፍ እንዲኖረው ታስቦ መሆኑን ገልጸዋል።

የቋሚ ኮሚቴው አባላት የሰጧቸው አስተያየቶች በግብዓት የሚወሰዱ መሆናቸውን ገልጸው በቀጣይ ማስተካከያ ተደርጎ የሚቀርብ ሲሆን የአዋጁ መሻሻል አንገብጋቢና መሰረታዊ ጉዳይ መሆኑን የተቋሙ አመራሮች ተናግረዋል።

በቅርቡ የእንስሳት ክትባት የሚያመርቱ አራት የውጭ አገር ኩባንያዎች በኢትዮጵያ ፋብሪካቸውን ሊተክሉ መሆኑን የግብርና ባለስልጣን አስታውቋል።በኢትዮጵያ የሚስተዋለውን የእንስሳት ክትባት ችግር የተነሳ የእንስሳት ጤና አጠባበቅ ላይ ክፍተት ሲስተዋል መቆየቱን ባለስልጣኑ ተናግሯል።

ወደ ኢትዮጵያ ገብተው ክትባት ለማምረት የተስማሙት ኩባንያዎች፤ የችግሩን ስፋት ያጠቡታል የሚል እምነት እንዳለ በግብር ባለስልጣን የእንስሳት መድሀኒት ቁጥጥር ዘርፍ ኃላፊ ዶክተር ሰለሞን ከበደ ተናግረዋል።

ከዚህ ቀደም በኢትዮጵያ ደረጃ የእንስሳት ክትባት የሚያመርት ድርጅት የኢትዮጵያ ብሔራዊ የእንሰሳት ጤና ጥበቃ ኢንሰቲትዩት ብቻ እንደነበር የገለጹት ኃላፊው፤ "የውጭ ኩባንያዎችን ወደ አገር ውስጥ እንዲገቡ መፈቀዱ ክፍተቱን መድፈን ያስችላል" ብለዋል።

ወደ ሀገር ይገባሉ የተባሉት ክትባት አምራች ኩባንያዎች የማምረተ አቅምና የጥራት ደረጃቸውን በተመለከተ ሰፊ ግምገማ ሲደረግለት መቆየቱን ዶክተር ሰለሞን አስታውሰዋል።መንግሥት የያዘው የእንስሳት ጤና ጥበቃ እንቅስቃሴ አካል መሆኑን ኃላፊው ጨምረው ለአሐዱ ተናግረዋል።

በኢትዮጵያ በብቸኝነት የእንስሳት ክትባት በማምረት የሚታወቀው የመንግሥት የልማት ድርጅት የሆነው ብሔራዊ የእንሰሳት ጤና ጥበቃ ኢንሰቲትዩት ሲሆን፤ የተቋቋመው በቀዳማዊ ኃይለሥላሴ እንደነበር ይታወቃል።በርካታ የውጭ ምንዛሪ ከሚጠይቁ የግብርና ምርቶች መካከል አንዱ የእንስሳት ክትባት ተጠቃሽ መሆኑን በግብርና ባለስልጣን የእንስሳት መድኃኒት ቁጥጥር ኃላፊው ከዶክተር ሰለሞን ለማወቅና ችለናል።
