Today, PDF soldier Pa (Mr.) Pau Khan Khai passed way. He was a veteran of the Tatmadaw, serving in a Burmese Army artillery unit before the coup.

Pau Khan Khai joined People’s Defence Force Zoland after the Tatmadaw overthrew Myanmar’s democratically elected government in 2021. He used skills he learned from the regime to fight against the regime, and to help instruct other soldiers.

Pau Khan Khai participated in the early stages of the ongoing Chin Brotherhood (CB) operation to liberate Falam. He fell ill and was pulled from the operation to go to a hospital, but he passed away today before receiving treatment.

I took these photos in November 2023. In the first image, Pau Khan Khai stands in formation. In the second, he carries a mortar during the battle of Taignen.

I recently spent a month inside Myanmar with a revolutionary armed group called PDF Zoland who are fighting as part of a nationwide revolution against the military junta, who took power in a coup in 2021.

PDF Zoland have grown from nothing in a few short years and now operate an army of mostly teenagers in the mountains of Chin State in Western Myanmar.

Revolutionary groups across Myanmar are fighting an increasingly successful war against an evil military junta who took power in a coup in Feb 2021.

In Chin State the PDF Zoland along with other local armed groups have liberated large areas of territory along the Indian border and are now setting up local government institutions to provide for their people.

A nationwide revolution is taking place, which is receiving very little attention internationally. The entire country has risen up against an oppressive military regime, who are dropping bombs on their people on a daily basis.

Spare a moment for what's happening there.
