Job SummaryThe CEO is in charge of enforcing top-level performance standards and creative operational systems. The primary role of the CEO is to examine the policies and strategies of the Institution, guarantee compliance with its goals and legal obligations, and coordinate organizational activities according to internal policies and procedures of the microfinance and the relevant statutory bodies governing microfinance in Ethiopia. The CEO is in charge of planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling and oversees the cost-efficient and effective operation of all microfinance institution functions and ensures the fulfillment of its objectives. Located in Kebronhill Microfinance (KMFI), the professional in this role will act as the CEO of the MFI and will report to the Board of directors. He/she will oversees the management of the institution, give clear leadership, ensure good performance, recruit and develop talent staff, and oversee new systems and procedures. He/she will be primarily accountable for executing the ambitious growth strategy outlined by the board of directors and establishing the MFI as a top provider of quality financial services to the general public. This will involve taking on leadership roles in the following crucial areas:
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: ● A BA/B.Sc MA/MBA/M.Sc Leadership, Management, Economics agricultural economics, and related fields.
● At least 12/10 years of direct experience in financial services, at least 3 of which should have been in senior management positions in a bank or Micro Finance institutions.
● General knowledge of a wide range of micro finance products, including loans savings, and other services.
● Advanced knowledge of Microfinance (MFI) operations, products and services as well as knowledge of standard MFI compliance regulations, MFI laws, business law, employment and labor law, internal operational policies and procedures
● Demonstrated experience leading and building cohesive, high performing teams
● Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
● Ability to delegate effectively among teams and show commitment to the long-term development of the management team through coaching and mentoring
● Comfortable in a fluid environment, self-directed, flexible and creative
● Commitment to the institution’s social mission and corporate values
● Willingness to frequent business travel throughout the country.
WORKING CONDITIONS The position is based in Addis Ababa with frequent field travel.
