Basic Important terms of Physics

Distance is the actual path that is traveled by a moving body.
Position is the location of an object compared to a reference frame (point)
Displacement is the difference between the initial point and final positions of an object.
Speed it's rate of change of distance. It's a scalar quantity with the SI unit of m/s.
Velocity it's rate of change of displacement. it's a vector quantity with the SI unit of m/s.
Average Speed it's the ratio of total distance traveled and total time taken.
Average Velocity it's the ratio of of change in displacement and change in time.
Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity. It's a vector quantity, with the SI unit of m/s².
An object is said to accelerate when its velocity changes in magnitude, in direction, or both in magnitude and direction.
Acceleration:The rate at which an object speeds up.
Deceleration: The rate at which an object slows down.
Note:
If velocity and acceleration have the same sign whether positive or negative its speeding up.
If the velocity and acceleration have opposite sign, then the object is slowing down.
