On the authority of Anas in a narration ascribed to the Prophet [ﷺ]:

❝There is no slave of Allaah who goes to visit his brother for the sake of Allaah, except that a voice calls out from the sky, ‘You have been good so Paradise has been made pleasurable for you.’ Also Allaah says in His Dominion of the ‘Arsh: ‘He is My slave and was visiting for My sake, so his hospitality is upon Me and I am not pleased with any hospitality other than Paradise.’❞

“Every religion has its distinct characteristic, and the distinct characteristic of Islam is haya/modesty.’

(Sunan Ibn Majah 4182)

Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah):

‘Haya’ in Islam is a characteristic that enables one to abstain from undesirable acts and prevents a person from falling short in fulfilling the rights of others’

(Fathul Bari, Hadith: 9)

"When I was taken on my night journey (Miraaj), I passed by people whose stomachs were like houses, in which there were snakes that could be seen from outside their stomachs.

I said: 'Who are these, O Jibra’eel?’

He ﷺ said: 'They are the ones who consumed Ribaa /Interest."'

“…I take an oath in that Being in whose control lies the life of Muhammad (ﷺ), the example of a Believer is that of a bee, It eats wholesome, produces wholesome and when it lands on anything, it does not break nor ruin it [i.e., A Believer should be gentle]…”

“If there was a river at your door and a person took a bath in it five times a day, would you notice any dirt on him?”

They said, “Not a trace of dirt would be left.”

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “That is the parable of the five daily salaah by which Allah removes sins.”

He ﷺ said: ‘Reconciling and making peace between people, for spoiling relations is the shaver (shaves/destroys Deen and good).

Soon people will invite each other plotting against you like how a person eating invites others to share their dish.

Someone asked: ‘Will that be because of our small numbers at that time’?

Nabi ﷺ replied: No, you will be many at that time, but you will be scum like that carried down by a flood, and Allah will take away the awe and fear of you from the chest of your enemy and cast ‘wahn’ into your hearts.

Someone asked: ‘What is wahn’?

Nabi ﷺ replied: ‘Love of the world and dislike of death’.

(Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 4297)

“Whoever makes the world his more important matter, Allah will confound his affairs and make poverty appear before his eyes and he will not get anything from the world except what has been decreed for him.

Whoever makes the Hereafter his most important matter Allah will settle his affairs and make him content in his heart and the world will come to him although he does not want it.”

The seller said, “Thirty coins.” The man thought to himself and said, “I will take it for forty coins.” The seller said, “What makes you say this when I would give it to you for less?” The man thought to himself again and he said, “I will take it for fifty coins.” The seller said, “What makes you say this when I would give it to you for less?” The man said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: A servant does not have faith until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself. I thought you would do better with fifty coins.”

* use the miswaak.”

5. Built a Masjid
6. Left a Qur'an in inheritance
7. Left behind a child who seeks forgiveness on his behalf after his demise.”

When he performs his ruku poorly, neither perfecting its ruku nor its sajdah, the prayer says: May Allah destroy you as you have destroyed me!”

Till when none of the scholars remains, people will take as their leaders ignorant persons, who when consulted will give their verdict without knowledge. So they will go astray and will lead the people astray."

“Whoever recites Surah Kahf on Friday, a light will shine from his feet to the clouds which will shine on the day of Qiyaamah and he will be be forgiven for the [minor] sins committed between the two Fridays.”

Sayyiduna ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Amir رضي الله عنه narrates: Rasulullah ﷺ said:

“On the Day of Qiyamah, people will be in the shade of the charity [they gave], until it is time for accountability.

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 4 pg. 148)

Abul Khayr, one of the narrators of this Hadith, would ensure that he gave charity every day, even if be a small food item.

A man said to the Messenger (ﷺ) , "Advise me! "The Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Do not become angry."The man asked (the same) again and again,and Messenger (ﷺ) said in each case, "Do not become angry."

Sayyiduna Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه narrates: Rasulullah ﷺ said,

“A strong believer is better and more beloved in the sight of Allah than a weak believer, [however], there is good in [both types].

Be eager to carry out [such deeds] that will benefit you, and seek Allah’s assistance and do not become lax.

If something afflicts you, do not say ‘If only I had done such and such’, you should say instead, Allah has decreed and he does as he wishes, for the word ‘law (لو)’ [meaning: ‘if’] opens the way for Shaytan”

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2664)

Ata ibn Abi Rabah رحمه الله تعالى narrates (Mursalan): Nabi ﷺ said:

“When a Muslim or Muslimah passes away on a Friday or the night of Friday, he will be protected from the punishment and trials of the grave. He will meet Allah and there will be no accountability for him and will appear on the Day of Qiyamah with witnesses who will testify in his favour.”

“Once Rasulullah (ﷺ) came out to us while we were discussing Dajjal. He said, ‘Shall I not tell you what I fear more for you than Dajjal?’ We said: ‘Certainly.’ He (ﷺ) said, ‘Hidden shirk; When a man stands to offer Salah and beautifies his Salah because he sees someone looking at him.'”

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 4204)

Sayyiduna ‘Amr ibnul ‘As رضي الله عنه reported: Nabi ﷺ appointed me as the leader in the battle of Dhatus Salasil. I came to him and asked, “Who is the most beloved person to you?”He ﷺ replied, “‘Aaishah.” I said, “From among the men?” He ﷺ replied, “Her father.”* I asked, “Who then?” He ﷺ replied, “‘Umar ibnul Khattab.” He ﷺ then named some other men. (رضي الله عنهم)

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3662)

Today being the blessed day of Friday, let us:
1. Recite Surah Kahf.
2. Engage in fervent duaa.
3. Recite abundant durood on Nabi ﷺ.

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar رضي الله عنهما reports that Nabi ﷺ said:

“A Muslim is the brother of another Muslim. He should not wrong him nor surrender him to his enemy. Allah will take care of the needs of anyone who takes care of the needs of his brother. On the Day of Qiyamah Allah will remove the worries of anyone who removes the worry of another Muslim. On the Day of Qiyamah Allah will conceal the faults of anyone who conceals the faults of another Muslim.”

(Sahih Bukhari, 2442)

“A man came to Nabi (ﷺ) and said, ‘O Rasulullah, teach me and be concise.’ Nabi (ﷺ) said,

1. ‘When you stand to offer Salah then perform Salah as it is a farewell Salah,
2. do not utter such words for which you will have to apologize
3. and have no hope in the [possessions] of people”

_Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud رضي الله عنه says:_

*Whomsoever recites Surah Mulk every night, Allah will protect him from the punishment of the grave by virtue of this Surah. In the time of Rasulullah ﷺ we named this Surah ‘Al Mani’ah’ (prevents the punishment of the grave). It is such a Surah, whoever recites it every night has certainly done a lot and has done good.*

“Certainly Allah enjoins upon you to treat your mother kindly/be dutiful towards her.” He repeated this thrice and then said, “Allah enjoins you to treat your father kindly and then your closest relatives.”
