In Japan, it has long been a tradition for women to give chocolates to men on Valentine's Day. And not just for romantic reasons: women are often expected to give giri choco — or "obligatory chocolates" — to show appreciation to their male coworkers and bosses as well.

However, in a new survey from Nippon Life Insurance Co., 71% of women and 74% of men said they thought giving giri choco was unnecessary. In the online survey of over 11,000 men and women, just 35% said they would give someone a present on Valentine's Day this year. Of these, 64% said they would give something to a spouse or partner, while just 13% said they would give something to a coworker.

also another interesting thing is in May japan has a day called white day where the guys have to give back their giri choco to the ladies.

🎂 Introducing Birthday Bot! 🥳

Hey everyone! I just built a Telegram bot that automatically wishes members of a group a heartfelt Happy Birthday on their special day! 🎈🎊

💡 Features:
Sends randomized heartfelt messages from a collection of 100+ unique wishes.
Works automatically—no need to set reminders!
Helps foster a positive community by celebrating every member’s birthday.

🛠 Commands & How to Use
📌 /start – Activates the bot and provides basic info.
📌 /addbirthday [username] [DD-MM] – Registers your birthday in the system.
Example: /addbirthday @brooksolo 17-01
📌 /deletebirthday [username]– Removes your stored birthday from the system in that group chat.
Example: /deletebirthday @brooksolo
📌 /upcomingbirthdays [days] – Lists upcoming birthdays within the given time range.
Example: /upcomingbirthdays 1m shows birthdays in the next one month.
📌 /listbirthdays – Displays all registered birthdays in the group or private message.

simply add it to your group or start it in direct message and start using link

This month's challenge is "Feb-Africa."

How It Works

The challenge is simple: immerse yourself in African cinema throughout February. The goal is to watch at least 7 films from anywhere in Africa. We encourage you to explore different genres, time periods, and regions, but most importantly, have fun discovering new cinematic voices!

How to Participate

There isn't a strict list of films – this is about exploring and discovering! Feel free to dive into any African films that pique your interest.
You can make your own selections from this list

Short Film 1
Title: Quiet Streets of Addis
Inspired By: Meron Birhanu (@meron_birhanu)
Filmed, and Edited By: Abrham Mengstu (@lykamimics)
About: I had some random clips recorded from my trips, and others that were just waiting to be deleted. I saw some of Meron's street photography, and read her articulation of her experience through the streets of Addis. I might as well make something, while I can.

People see being a telegram creator and joining our community as a way to learn something, gain an audience, build a community, or be part of the crew or something.

While all that are some of the perks, in my perspective what I see is an effort to increase our collective intelligence.

Pre and post the community, there is a clear difference in taste, effort, and intelligence level of everyone involved throughout the community.

And that's such a great thing. So if you've got a bright mind and a unique perspective in life. Doesn't have to be tech or spiritual only, could be anything so create a channel, engage with the community and join in making everyone smarter.

I was learning Vue a few months ago and built a very handy silly project. So me and my friends are non-cafe and usually struggle with conversations like

Person 1: What and where do you wanna eat?
Person 2: I don't know, you choose
Person 1: No, you choose! (If only there was a platform to help us decide, if onlyyy)

Say no more! The Blogrammer to the rescue 👨‍🚒 Foodpick is a simple app that helps you decide what and where to eat for AASTU students depending on your mood.

Tech Stack: Vue, Tailwind
Link: Foodpick
Github: Foodpick Repo

If you have any suggestions or features, please feel free to contribute to it.
