This is indeed the waswas and work of Shaytān, trying to have them stay unlearned.

This is one of the reasons we, alongside with Madrasah Nuraniyyah, have made a 2 day crash-course on basic Islamic knowledge.

ʿAbd-Allāh ibn Salām: In the Tawrāt, the description of Muḥammad (ﷺ) and the description of ʿĪsā, son of Maryam, are written. He (ʿĪsā) will be buried alongside him (ﷺ).

‎Abū Mawdūd said: And there remains in the house (meaning the Prophet’s ﷺ chamber) a place for a grave.

‎[Jāmiʿ at-Tirmidhī 3617]

‎It is narrated that on that night, a proclamation was made in the heavens and across their expanses, as well as on the Earth and its regions: “The concealed light, from which the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ will emerge, settles tonight in the womb of Āminah. Blessed is she, truly blessed is she.”

‎On that day, the idols of the world were overturned. The Quraysh, who were suffering from severe drought and great hardship, saw the Earth become green, the trees bear fruit, and blessings arrive from all directions. Thus, the year in which the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ was conceived came to be called the “Year of Opening and Rejoicing.”

When the blessed mother, Sayyidah Āminah bint Wahb, carried the noble Prophet ﷺ, wondrous signs appeared to mark the blessed birth of the Best of Creation, Rasūlullāh ﷺ. Among the many was:

‎Sayyidunā Sahl ibn ʿAbdullāh al-Tustarī said, “When Allāh Almighty willed to create our Master Muḥammad ﷺ in the womb of his mother, Āminah, on the night of Rajab, which was a Friday night, He commanded Riḍwān, the keeper of Jannah, to open the gates of Al-Firdaws (the highest Paradise).

‎A caller proclaimed in the heavens and the Earth: ‘Indeed, the hidden and preserved light, from which the guiding Prophet will emerge, settles tonight in the womb of his mother. There, his creation will be completed, and he will emerge as a bringer of glad tidings and a warner.’”

‎Even if you follow Imām Mālik, Imām al-Shāfiʿī, or Imām Aḥmad (may Allāh have mercy on them), through Imām Abū Ḥanīfah’s students, they actually all benefitted by the imām’s fiqh as Imām al-Shāfiʿī himself indicated.

‎Indeed, Imām Abū Ḥanīfah defended the creed of Ahl al-Sunnah before Imām al-Ashʿarī and al-Māturīdī came along to benefit from him and to continue his work; he established among others central points of creed in relation to Tawḥīd, the Ṣifāt of Allāh Taʿālā, the holy Qurʾān, the Qaḍāʾ and the Qadar, and other matters, and he debated the Khawārij, the Muʿtazilah, the Shīʿah, and many other sects in his time – long before the later mutakallimūn.

‎There have been different narrations about his passing, but Imām al-Dhahabī stated that the most correct position is that Imām Abū Ḥanīfah passed away in Rajab in the year of 150 AH.”

‎“The holy month of Rajab is also the month of the passing of al-Imām al-Aʿẓam Imām Abū Ḥanīfah (may Allāh have mercy on him), the most followed mujtahid imām throughout Islamic history, with approximately 800 million followers even today.

‎Every Sunni should recite Sūrat al-Fātiḥah for the imām and seek blessings and forgiveness on his behalf as well as our own behalf through our recitation as well as through our connection to him.

‎It is well established that Imām Abū Ḥanīfah had a brilliant legal and theological mind and that he had an extremely high level of consistency, integrity, and piety. He was a Tābiʿī and was indeed a major Walī from amongst the Awliyāʾ of Allāh, ranking higher than all of the later-day Awliyāʾ and Mashāyikh and surpassed only by the Ṣaḥābah and the major Tābiʿūn.

The blessed head of Sayyidunā Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī is buried in Cairo and is supported by historical records, official documentation, and eyewitness accounts.

According to the renowned historian al-Maqrīzī, the head was transferred from ʿAsqalān to Cairo on Sunday, the 8th of Jumādā al-Thānī, 548 AH (August 31, 1153 CE). Prince Sayf al-Mamlaka Tamīm oversaw this sacred transfer, and the head was ceremoniously brought to Cairo and placed in the Al-Ḥusayn Masjid, which was built in 1154 CE to enshrine this blessed relic.

The Egyptian Bureau of Artifacts holds documents verifying this transfer. Additionally, a Yemenī writer, Sayyidī Ḥasan ibn Asad, described the miraculous events that occurred during the head’s transfer, such as the sight of fresh blood drops and the fragrance of musk emanating from the casket.

Documents related to the transfer have reportedly also been preserved in institutions, including a British university, which attest to the authenticity of this account.

Aṣḥāb al-Kahf had a great mindset for protecting their faith. These individuals sacrificed everything to shield themselves from fitan and safeguard their belief. They preferred to take refuge in a cave rather than worship anyone other than Allāh. It is also deduced that an extremely effective means of protecting one’s faith during times of fitan is to separate oneself from others.

This is Shaykh Ḥusayn Elci al-Būṭī. He was one of the greatest ʿUlamāʾ in Türkiye, a man known for his piety and devotion and he taught people about religion for over 70 years.

A few years before he passed away, he dug his own grave and spent his days sitting in it, reciting the Qurʾān out of love and longing to meet Allāh. He did this also so that his grave would be illuminated and blessed by the recitation of the holy Qurʾān.

The noble Shaykh would give away all his money and all the food he had to widows and the poor, often going to bed hungry himself.

This man was one of the great scholars of al-Shām, al-ʿAllāmah Muḥammad Bahjat al-Bayṭār.

In this picture, taken in 1960, he is visiting Fāris al-Khuri, who was a Christian at the time. At that point, Fāris was ill, and he requested Shaykh Bahjat to visit him and recite the Qurʾān over him. Faris recognized that this Shaykh was deeply righteous and understood that the Qurʾān is filled with miracles. Out of compassion and love, Shaykh Bahjat would often visit him despite Fāris being a Christian. He spent time speaking with him and interacting with him – with genuine grace and brotherhood.

The beautiful character of Shaykh Bahjat touched Fāris’ heart to such an extent that he chose to recite the Shahādah and passed away with the Kalimah on his tongue.

American pastor and author Scotty McLennan mentions:

‎“In the ancient Roman world, December 25 was celebrated as the birthday of the god Mithra.”

‎[Reclaiming Christianity for all, p. 209]

So, Christians adopted the celebration of Christmas from Roman idolaters:

‎“December 25 was taken over by the Christians to celebrate the birth of Jesus on earth.”

‎[An Introduction to the Bible, p. 345]

‎Even the decoration of trees is considered idol*try and superstition in the Bible:

‎“Their superstitions are worthless, and their idols are false. They chop down a tree in the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. They adorn it with silver and gold.”

‎[Book of Jeremiah - Chapter 10, verses 3-4]

‎Christmas is, therefore, a holiday that reflects a corrupt polytheistic belief, and every Muslim should stay away from it and simultaneously express their distance from it. This is, as mentioned in the Qurʾān, in accordance with the example of Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ:

‎“Allāh disassociates Himself from the idolators, and so does His Messenger ﷺ.”

‎[Chapter 9, verse 3]

‎Imitating the traditions of the non-Muslims can lead to Kufr:

‎“Whoever imitates a people is one of them.”

‎[Sunan Abī Dāwūd 4031]

The story of Jesus’ birth in December contradicts Christianity itself. In the Bible, it is stated:

‎“Mary gave birth to her son (Jesus), the firstborn. She wrapped him in a blanket and laid him in a manger in the stable - because the guest room was occupied. That same night, some shepherds were staying out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks.”

‎[Gospel of Luke - Chapter 2, verses 7-8]

‎These shepherds were tending to their flocks in the fields at night. However, it doesn’t make sense for this to happen in the coldest part of the day, in the coldest season of the year. No shepherd would care for their flock outside during that time of year. Therefore, it is more likely that the Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) was born in the spring and possibly at the latest in the summer, but not in winter.

‎The question then arises - if the birthday is celebrated, whose is it? The answer is the Persian god Mithras.

‎It is said, “Allāh’s pleasure is in the pleasure of the father, and Allāh’s displeasure is in the displeasure of the father.” Fathers hold great significance because Allāh has commanded them to work hard to provide for the physical, educational, psychological, and spiritual needs of their children. We should recognize that our fathers have done so much for us that we can never fully repay them. The only way to completely compensate them would be to find them as slaves and set them free – a scenario that is practically impossible today. One of the best ways to honor our fathers after they have passed away is by showing kindness to their friends. Sayyidunā ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar reported that Rasūlullāh ﷺ said: “The best act of righteousness is for a man to maintain good relations with his father’s loved ones.”

Sayyidunā ʿAbdur-Raḥmān bin ʿAwf was among the wealthiest companions (Ṣaḥāba). Someone asked him: “How did you become so wealthy?”

He replied, “Three things:
1. I never refused any profit.
2. I do not delay in selling once asked.
3. I do not sell on credit.”

It is said that he, Sayyidunā ʿAbdur-Raḥmān bin ʿAwf, once sold 1,000 she-camels at the cost price and received only the ropes that he used to tie the camels with. He then sold each rope for one dirham and earned a profit of 1,000 dirhams, and 1,000 dirhams were saved from that day’s feed for the she-camels.

Sayyidunā ʿUmar al-Fārūq left this world in the 23rd year after Hijrah and was buried next to Rasūlullāh ﷺ and Sayyidunā Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq.

Around the 90th year after Hijrah, the walls of the Prophet’s ﷺ chamber were being rebuilt when the eastern wall of the Sacred Chamber collapsed. While rebuilding the wall, the workers had to dig a new foundation, and during this process, they made an extraordinary discovery.

They dug so deep that they saw a foot completely intact. Initially, they believed it was the noble and blessed foot of Rasūlullāh ﷺ, but ʿUrwah clarified, saying, “This is not the foot of the Prophet ﷺ; rather, 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 ʿ𝗨𝗺𝗮𝗿.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī]

‎He kindled the flame of the Prophet’s ﷺ love in the hearts of the youth, nurturing a generation devoted to revering and defending the Beloved Messenger ﷺ.

‎A lion of Islām, his roar struck fear into the hearts of the Kuffār. Even now, his name unsettles them – so much so that at its mere mention, they scramble to silence it on their platforms. Such is the enduring power of his legacy.

The worldly fame of Sayyid Amīr ʿAbd al-Qādir ibn Muḥy al-Dīn al-Jazāʾirī رحمه الله rests on his leadership of the resistance movement that crystallized against the French invasion of Algeria in 1830. He conducted a heroic struggle against the superior power of the French for 15 years.

‎He was extremely pious by inclination, belonged to the Qādirī Ṭarīqah, and had the spiritual chain of Shaykh al-Akbar ibn ʿArabī, whom he greatly admired. He strove to bring about a moral regeneration among his people by returning to the spirit of the Holy Qurʾān and the exemplary path of the forefathers (al-Salaf al-Ṣāliḥ). Accordingly, he implemented the precepts of the Sharīʿah under his rule, enforcing regular attendance in the Masājid and modest attire for women in public, as well as prohibiting drinking, gambling, and smoking.

‎It must also be known that in the sight of Allāh, all of the world and its enjoyment is kalīl, which is the opposite of kawthar and means “little.”

‎“The enjoyment of this world is so little…” [4:77]

In the 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗤𝘂𝗿ʾ𝗮̄𝗻, human physiology is evident, as Allāh reveals concepts that science has only recently begun to understand. A significant advancement came in the late 19th century when German physiologist Max von Frey identified specialized nerve endings in the skin that responded to mechanical stimulation and transmitted pain signals. This discovery laid the foundation for our understanding of nociceptors as specialized sensory receptors for pain. Specifically, he made this identification in the 1890s, but this concept was already stated in the Qurʾān 1,446 years ago:

Therefore, according to Ibn Taymiyyah a righteous saint (Walī) who follows the prophets can revive the dead, just as the prophets can do so, by the permission of Allāh Almighty. Will they now dare to call the authentic accounts of our Awliyā's karāmāt as 'khurafāt'?

What if we told you their unofficial "Salaf" i.e. Ibn Taymiyyah says that a man who follows the prophets can revive the dead. He states:

"Someone might ask: Everything that Allāh does in the world in terms of signs is evidence of the truthfulness of the prophets and necessarily implies it. Whether these signs are common among the prophets or among the righteous who follow the prophets, they necessarily imply the truthfulness of the one claiming prophethood. If these signs only occur for a prophet or one who follows a prophet, then they must belong to one of these two categories. A false claimant to prophethood is not one of them; thus, a righteous follower of the prophets never lies about claiming prophethood, nor would anyone claim it unless he is truthful, just as the prophets who followed the law of Mūsā did.

Despite Ibn Taymiyyah's deviances in some aspects of creed, he is an acknowledged scholar in Ḥanbalī Fiqh.

And taking Fiqh from an innovator in itself isn’t an issue; the Ḥanafīs had a number of Muʿtazilīs who contributed to their Madhhab, like al-Jassās and Karkhī, and that wasn’t an issue. However, the Ḥanafīs never began to promote Muʿtazilī creed which is a lesson for the Wahhābīs who promote Taymī creed in the guise of Ḥanbalism.

Furthermore, nowadays when you ask Pseudo-Salafīs, “Do the views of Ibn Taymiyyah align with the mainstream Ḥanbalī Creed?” they immediately begin citing Ibn ʿAbd al-Hādī, Ibn Qāḍī al-Jabal, and Ibn al-Mibrad.

However, they overlook the fact that these individuals were followers of Ibn Taymiyyah themselves, making them part of the dispute.

It is fallacious to believe that they can simultaneously be the challengers and the arbiters.

Thus, making long threads about these individuals won’t help your case, especially citing those general praises of their Creed which we wouldn’t even find an issue with.

The Wahhābīs of our time are fervently attempting to transform the entire Ḥanbalī School into the Taymī Creed.

An example is ʿAlāʾ Ismāʿīl, a Taymī scholar, who claimed that Ibn al-Zāghūnī and Ibn Qudāmah rejected Tafwīd al-Maʿnā. Know, beloved brothers, that this error arises from falling into the methodological mistake of the Yahūdīs: forsaking the explicit texts and adhering to the implicit.

They are exerting all this effort while Ibn Taymiyyah *himself* negates that the Ḥanbalī School adhered to his Creed, rather he states that his predecessors from the Ḥanābilah were upon the way of Ahl al-Bidʿah in Creed and Legal Theory!

Ibn Taymiyyah said: “However, 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰 (𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗱’𝘀 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲) 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝗳 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗲𝘁 ﷺ) and other issues that arose in the time of the later scholars, 𝗜 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗱𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀. Learn there is a difference between standard Ḥanbalī creed as outlined by Ibn Qudāmah and others, and the fringe Taymī opinions making up the Wahhābī creed.

Is the methodology of Ibn Taymiyyah and his personal theological views the mainstream Ḥanbalī Creed as contemporary Pseudo-Salafīs claim?

In truth, this claim was not made by Taqī al-Dīn ibn Taymiyyah himself. Rather, he explicitly stated that he never called to the Creed of the Ḥanābilah, but to what he believed to be the correct view based on *his own ijtihād*.

He said: "(…) Until this moment, 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗵𝗵𝗮𝗯 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛̣𝗮𝗻𝗮̄𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗵 or any other group, 𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗜 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘁. I only mention what the predecessors and the Imāms of the Ummah have agreed upon in my speech."

The ʿUlamāʾ described Prophet Yūsuf's (عليه السلام) face as being 'sweet'. There is only so much that any human can take in of sugar or dessert before they are completed enamored and overcome. People who looked at Nabī Yūsuf's face would be overwhelmed as we saw with women cutting their fingers upon seeing him. Sayyidunā Muḥammad's ﷺ face was described as Malīḥ (مليح). The word salt is called Milḥ in Arabic. We are able to consume more Malīḥ and savoury food than desserts and sweets. So how does this relate to Rasūlullāh's ﷺ face? You can gaze upon him, and gaze upon him, and gaze upon him – but his beauty is such that you will never become satiated or filled by seeing it. The more your eyes look upon him, the more you desire. Imām al-Munāwī also said that Rasūlullāh ﷺ reached the pinnacle of beauty, while Prophet Yūsuf was given only half of that! Nabī Yūsuf was given half of the world’s beauty, a world which Allāh جل جلاله created for the sake of Rasūlullāh ﷺ.

Imām Abū Isḥāq al-Shīrāzī (476 Hijrī): ‎“The Ashʿarīs: The luminaries of Ahl al-Sunnah and the supporters of the Sharīʿah have stood firm in refuting the innovators among the Qadariyya, the Rāfiḍah, and others. Whoever attacks them has indeed attacked the people of the Sunnah. When such a matter is brought to the attention of those overseeing the affairs of the Muslims, it becomes obligatory to discipline the one who engages in such actions to deter everyone from similar conduct.”

‎Al-Ḥāfiẓ Murtaḍā al-Zabīdī writes:

‎“When the term ‘Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l Jamāʿah’ is used, it refers to the Ashʿarīs and Māturīdīs.

‎And let it be known that both Imāms, Abū al-Ḥasan and Abū Manṣūr – may Allāh be pleased with them and reward them for their contributions to Islām – did not innovate their own opinions, nor did they establish a new school of thought. Rather, they adhered to the established doctrines of the early generations, contending against those who deviated from the path of the companions of Rasūlullāh ﷺ. Each of them confronted those who held heretical beliefs and misguidance until they were defeated and subdued.

‎And know that the Ashāʿirah and the Māturīdiyyah constitute 95% of Muslims. Also, be aware that al-Ashʿarī is the grandson of the esteemed companion Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī, while al-Māturīdī is the grandson of the honored companion Abū Ayyūb al-Anṣārī.”
