Yangon International Airport successfully conducted a comprehensive Foreign Object Debris (FOD) campaign aimed at maintaining safety and operational efficiency. The campaign, which took place from 07:20 to 08:15 local time on 24th December, 2024, covered a total area of 102,225 square meters, including Apron A and the Stand Area.

The event saw active participation from 170 personnel, representing a wide range of stakeholders, including international and domestic airlines, ACC, aviation police, ground handlers, fuel suppliers, catering services and YACL Staffs. The collaborative effort emphasized the importance of maintaining a safe, debris-free environment for both airport operations and flight safety.

[Travel Advisory]

Tourist Visa on Arrival for Japan, Republic of Korea, and Macao SAR

The Ministry of Hotel & Tourism of Myanmar has announced a significant development for the growth of the country’s tourism sector. Starting from 21st November 2024, tourists from Japan, the Republic of Korea, and the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China will be eligible for Tourist Visa on Arrival for a trial period of one year. This initiative is part of efforts to boost international tourism to Myanmar.

The Ministry has formally communicated this update to all relevant stakeholders, including members of the tourism association, and encourages potential travelers from these regions to take advantage of the new visa facilitation starting from the specified date.

A list of Visa on Arrival and Visa Exempt countries can be seen on the chart attached.

For further details, travelers are advised to check the Ministry’s notifications.

Due to the World Health Organization declared Mpox a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) on 14 August 2024, all travelers arriving in Myanmar are required to complete Health Declaration Cards (HDCs) in accordance with the Ministry of Health (MOH) procedures and submit the cards to the relevant MOH officials before passing through immigration counters.

YACL recognizes the Honesty and Integrity displayed by Mr. Win Tun Aung and Mr. Pyae Phyo Aung from Airport Services for discovering a wallet with cash and cards on the trolley at 23:20 on 20/08/2024 at the YIA curbside Gate 04. Upon discovery of the item, he immediately followed protocol and proceeded to do hand over process to the YACL Lost and Found. The team began to immediately work with airlines to locate the passenger, and on 21/08/2024 the passenger was returned the lost items.

YACL Chief Operating Officer Mr. Pedro Cavem, today provided the Certificate of Honesty and Integrity as well Gifts of appreciation to Mr. Win Tun Aung and Mr. Pyae Phyo Aung.
