Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

"Anyone Allāh disgraces will have no one who can honour him" [22:18]

Ibn Rajab رحمه الله:

The Messenger of Allāh ‎ﷺ said:

“Do not take a month as an Eid, and do not take a day as an Eid.” And the purpose of this is that It is not legislated for the Muslims to make any day as Eid except what has come in the Shari'ah by taking them as Eid, and they are the day of Fitr, the day of Al-Adha, the days of At-Tashreeq, and the day of Friday which is a weekly Eid; and it is a Bid'ah to make any day an Eid apart from these days, as there is no basis for this in the Shari'ah

[لطائف المعارف فيما للمواسم من وظائف - ص 228]

We know that an Eid is classified as any habitual repetitive, recurring and standard event that people celebrate.

Therefore, birthdays, memorial days, independence day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and such are all prohibited in our religion.

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen رحمه الله:

The Person is Tested with Two matters when he reads the Qur'ān:‏

1)Either laziness and not being persistent in reading.

2)Or not contemplating (upon the meaning).

So if you seek refuge in Allāh from the accursed shaytaan, Allāh will protect you from him,

and you will be granted success to continue reading and contemplating (upon the Qur'ān).
