Hasan al-Basri (رحمه الله) said to Mutarraf ibn ’Abdillah:

“𝘼𝙙𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨!”

He replied: “𝗜 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳.”

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: ❝Increase in salutations upon me, on the day of Friday (Jumu'ah) and its night.❞

Prophet ﷺ said: “The best of prayers with Allāh is the prayer of morning (Fajr) on the Day of Friday in congregation.”

READING SURAH AL - KAHAF

Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever reads Surah Al-Kahf on Fridays will be adorned with light from that Friday to the next."

Fasting Second Half Of Sha'baan

The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“Do not anticipate Ramadaan by fasting one or two days before it begins, but if a man habitually fasts, then let him fast.”

This indicates that fasting after halfway through Sha’baan is permissible for someone who has the habit of fasting, such as a man who regularly fasts on Mondays and Thursdays, or who fasts alternate days, and the like.

• Narrated Aisha radhi Allahu anha that Allah's Apostle used to fast till one would say that he would never stop fasting, and he would abandon fasting till one would say that he would never fast. I never saw Allah's Apostle fasting for a whole month except the month of Ramadan, and did not see him fasting in any month more than in the month of Sha'ban.

• Our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w said:

ذَلِكَ شَهْرٌ يَغْفُلُ النَّاسُ عَنْهُ بَيْنَ رَجَبٍ وَرَمَضَانَ وَهُوَ شَهْرٌ تُرْفَعُ فِيهِ الْأَعْمَالُ إِلَى رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ فَأُحِبُّ أَنْ يُرْفَعَ عَمَلِي وَأَنَا صَائِم

“It is a month where people tend to neglect, between the months of Rajab and Ramadan. It is a month in which the deeds are raised to the Lord of the worlds, and I like my deeds to be raised while I am fasting.

Household Chores Are From The Sunnah

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen [رحمه الله] said:

❝When a person is at home then it is from the Sunnah, that for example he makes his own tea, cooks if he knows how to and washes up that which needs washing, all of this is from the Sunnah.

If you do this then you get the reward of following the Sunnah, with imitating the Messenger [ﷺ] and in humbling yourself for Allaah - the Mighty and Majestic.

This also brings about love between you and your wife. When your family sense that you help them in their chores they will love you and your value to them will increase, therefore, this will end up being a great benefit.❞

It is astonishing to see that those who recite in their prayers:
“He (Allaah) begets not, nor is He begotten”, yet they are seen wishing and celebrating with those who ascribe a son to Allaah!

✘ Do not listen to those who make excuses and say that wishing is not like celebrating.

✘ Christmas is not a part of Christianity, there is nothing in their books to support the claim. The Christians are only imitating the pagans in their rituals.
As Allah تعالى said:

وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ عُزَيْرٌ ابْنُ اللَّـهِ وَقَالَتِ النَّصَارَى الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ اللَّـهِ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ قَوْلُهُم بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ ۖ يُضَاهِئُونَ قَوْلَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن قَبْلُ ۚ قَاتَلَهُمُ اللَّـهُ ۚ أَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ

“And the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allah's Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!”

Allah has no Partner or Associate

Allah declares Himself to be above having any child or partner in dominion, control and worship.

He says:

مَا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ مِن وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُ مِنْ إِلَهٍ إِذًا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَهٍ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ

Allah has not taken any son, nor has there ever been with Him any deity. [If there had been], then each deity would have taken what it created, and some of them would have sought to overcome others. Exalted is Allah above what they describe [concerning Him].

(Al-Mu'minun 23:91)

meaning, if it were decreed that there should be a plurality of deities, each of them would have exclusive control over whatever he had created, so there would never be any order in the universe. But what we see is that the universe is ordered and cohesive, with the upper and lower realms connected to one another in the most perfect fashion

❝Every time a person’s Eeman strengthens with the Qur’aan, then Allaah gives Yaqeen [certainty] due to the evidences of the Qur’aan which cannot be found in any other book.

This is why I encourage you and my self to have complete concern for the Qur’aan, reciting it, reflecting upon it and acting upon it.

It was narrated from Abu Huraira that Rasulullah ﷺ said:

Hasten to do good deeds, (before you are overtaken) by a fitna which would be like a segment of the dark night: a man becomes a believer in the morning and becomes a disbeliever in the evening, or he becomes a believer in the evening and becomes a disbeliever in the morning. He would sell his religion for worldly gain.

Sheikh al Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

The way of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah is old and was well-known even before Allah created Abu Hanifah, Malik, ash Shafi’i and Ahmad.

Indeed, it was the way of the Sahabah who received it from their Prophet ﷺ.

Anyone who opposes it is considered an innovator by Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah.

«لِلْعَبْدِ بَيْن يَدَيِ اللهِ مَوْقِفَانِ: مَوْقِفٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فِي الصَّلاَةِ. وَمَوْقِفٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ يَوْمَ لِقَائِهِ. فَمَنْ قَامَ بِحَقِّ المَوْقِفِ الأَوَّلِ هُوِّنَ عَلَيْهِ المَوْقِفُ الآخَرَ، وَمَنِ اسْتَهَانَ بِهَذَا المَوْقِفِ وَلَمْ يُوَفِّهِ حَقَّهُ شُدِّدَ عَلَيْهِ ذَلِكَ المَوْقِفُ»

"The slave has two standings before Allâh:
one in prayer and the other on the Day he meets Him. Whoever fulfills the right of the first standing, the second will be made easier for him. But whoever takes the first standing lightly and does not fulfill its right, the second will be made difficult."

Imitation of the Kuffar - Dangerous !


Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-Aas   رضي الله عنه  as collected by Imam al-Bayhaqi with an authentic chain when he said:

“Whosoever lives in the lands of the mushrikin and celebrates their Nayrouz and festivals and keeps imitating them until he dies in that condition, will be resurrected with them on the Day of Resurrection.”

It’s surprising to see Muslims celebrating Diwali and bursting crackers—what’s the joy in this for us as Muslims?

Prophet ﷺ warned us about imitating other cultures in ways that stray from our own faith when he said,

"Whoever imitates a people is one of them." [Sunan Abu Dawood, 4031]

Diwali, Birthdays, Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentines, and many others are other examples of impermissible celebrations.

"‏ إِذَا نُودِيَ بِالصَّلاَةِ أَدْبَرَ الشَّيْطَانُ وَلَهُ ضُرَاطٌ، فَإِذَا قُضِيَ أَقْبَلَ، فَإِذَا ثُوِّبَ بِهَا أَدْبَرَ، فَإِذَا قُضِيَ أَقْبَلَ، حَتَّى يَخْطِرَ بَيْنَ الإِنْسَانِ وَقَلْبِهِ، فَيَقُولُ اذْكُرْ كَذَا وَكَذَا‏.‏ حَتَّى لاَ يَدْرِي أَثَلاَثًا صَلَّى أَمْ أَرْبَعًا فَإِذَا لَمْ يَدْرِ ثَلاَثًا صَلَّى أَوْ أَرْبَعًا سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَىِ السَّهْوِ ‏"

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "When the call for the prayer is pronounced, Satan takes to his heels, passing wind with noise, When the call for the prayer is finished, he comes back. And when the Iqama is pronounced, he again takes to his heels, and after its completion, he returns again to interfere between the (praying) person and his heart, saying to him. 'Remember this or that thing.' till the person forgets whether he has offered three or four rak`at: so if one forgets whether he has prayed three or four rak`at, he should perform two prostrations of Sahu (i.e. forgetfulness).

Shaykh Abdulaziz ibn Baz rahimahullah was asked:

Question: I would like from your eminence a word of guidance for the beginner in seeking knowledge, and what are the most important texts that need to be memorized?

Answer: ...the most important thing is to take care of the Qur'an, to recite it a lot, to reflect on its meanings, and then the Sunnah.

Among the best and shortest books on hadith are: “Umdat al-Hadith” by Sheikh Abd al-Ghani, and “Buloogh al-Maram” by Sheikh al-Hafidh Ibn Hajar, these are two very good, brief and useful books.

In creed (aqeedah), the book “Kitab Al-Tawheed” by Sheikh Muhammad Ibn Abdil-Wahhaab, “Al-Aqeedah Al-Wasitiah” by Shaykhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, also “The Three Fundamental Principles (Al-Usool Al-Thalatha)” and “Kashf Al-Shubuhaat” are great and useful books on the creed, which we recommend memorizing.

Likewise, “Al-Nawawi’s Forty hadeeth”, and its supplement by Ibn Rajab “Jawami’ al-Kalim”, fifty sound hadiths, we recommend memorizing as well.

س: أرجو من سماحتكم كلمة توجيهية للمُبتدئ في طلب العلم، وما أهم المتون التي يلزم حفظها؟

...أهم شيءٍ العناية بالقرآن، والإكثار من تلاوته، وتدبر معانيه، ثم السُّنة.

ومن أحسن الكتب وأخصرها في الحديث: "عمدة الحديث" للشيخ عبدالغني، و"بلوغ المرام" للشيخ الحافظ ابن حجر، هذان كتابان جيدان مُختصران مُفيدان.

وفي العقيدة كتاب "التوحيد" للشيخ محمد، و"العقيدة الواسطية" لشيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية، و"ثلاثة الأصول"، و"كشف الشبهات"، كتب مُفيدة عظيمة في العقيدة، نُوصي بحفظها.

كذلك "الأربعون النووية"، وتتمَّتها لابن رجب في الحديث في "جوامع الكلم"، خمسون حديثًا جيدًا، نوصي بحفظها أيضًا.

[But] he said, "I will take refuge on a mountain to protect me from the water." [Noah] said, "There is no protector today from the decree of Allāh, except for whom He gives mercy." And the waves came between them, and he was among the drowned.
