β€˜Prosocial’ basically means to virtue-signal; to feign kindness in order to be admired or accepted.

Hail Apollon, charioteer of dragons,
Radiant lord of light and truth,
Your fiery steeds pierce the heavens,
Their breath igniting wisdom in the skies.

You who guide the sun across the firmament,
Illuminate the path of clarity and courage.
With your golden bow, you strike away falsehood,
And your melodies heal the wounds of the weary.

O oracle of Delphi, seer of the unseen,
Grant me insight to discern the hidden,
Strength to walk the road of virtue,
And the grace to embrace the beauty of harmony.

May your presence dispel the shadows of doubt,
And your flame kindle the fire of inspiration.
In your honor, I offer this prayer,
As I stand in awe of your celestial glory.

Hail Apollon, charioteer of dragons,
Forever shall your name echo through the cosmos.

Legendary Death Metal band Pestilence have come under some fire for using an AI generated album cover recently (which they then replaced with human-made art due to backlash). Their defence of their decision exposes the short-sightedness of musicians who go down this route.

"Are we so caught up in the past that that we do not embrace technology?"

And how about when that same technology is used to replace YOU, Mr Musician? How about when Spotify and streaming services start offering listeners a new 'generate your own bespoke music' option, and brain-dead consumers start opting for that instead of listening to your music? (I'm pretty sure this is coming, and Spotify et al will push it with glee because instead of the $0.00001 per stream they pay bands now, they get to pay $0.00000).

How about when bands utilise AI generated drum tracks that are faster and tighter than your drummer who's spent 40 years honing his craft, but the listener doesn't care because he's too busy "embracing technology"? How about when bands use AI to generate their lyrics and fans praise them more than yours? How will you feel then?

The point is - no-one will be able to contain AI, or limit it to the peripheral, more mundane tasks associated with a creative project. You can't defend it on the grounds that "it only does the meaningless stuff" or "the stuff humans can't afford to do", because the nature of this competitive society means that someone else will use AI outside of your self-defined limits to get ahead of you. And then it's just a race to the bottom, where the most famous 'musicians' are nothing more than extroverted pretty faces on social media who write a few prompts to generate music and images whilst sat on the toilet.

Death is meaningful to us in life.

Thus, since at some point I will cease to be, no manner of living can achieve the fulfilling, meaningful life, since no way of living will permit me to continue in the world.

This, contends Heidegger, should shatter any illusion that mere norm-following might be the right way to live.

Thus, in the face of our inevitable death we are brought to reject our reliance on cultural norms as the eudaimon way to be, and to take responsibility for our own selves.

In anticipating death I reject β€˜the they’ and take responsibility for myself: I become authentic.

The knowledge that our lives will end brings with it the joy of the realisation that our choices about our way of being matter.

β€”Evola on Western propaganda:

In fact, in this supposed β€œland of the free,” this so-called β€œfree world,” invisible coercion and social control through the various forms of conformism and public opinion is often at least as great as the control exercised visibly and directly by the state in so-called totalitarian systems of the β€œunfree” world.

To the extent that there is any difference, it may not be to the advantage of the so-called β€œfree world,” since there, social and psychological control is not perceived as such, whereas in the latter case, it is directly felt, and is therefore more likely to elicit some form of resistance.

We spoke of advertising; but from advertising to political propaganda, there is only a short step. Hence, in America, there have been those who have noted with indignation that the techniques used in the presidential elections do not, structurally speaking, differ much from those used to foist a certain brand of soap or kitchen appliance on the public.

In this respect, as in so many others, America is only an extreme case. There, processes that are underway in other countries as well are simply more visible, and pushed to the point of absurdity. Indeed, one could say that the success of the ideologies and slogans that almost completely dominate today’s political and social life is solely dependent on the absence, in most individuals, of defenses that might bar access to the sub-intellectual, irrational and β€œphysical” part of the psyche.

If the threshold to this zone were guarded, it would automatically deprive of their efficacy the methods now applied on a vast scale by political and social agitatorsβ€”methods used to rouse the masses and lead them in a certain direction, without depriving them of the illusion that they are guided solely by their own will and by their own true interests.

The religious mystic and the visionary artist both penetrate a meaning behind and beyond things, thereby experiencing the ecstasy of overcoming their alien aspect.

Do you like Scott Stapp? I’ve been a big Creed fan ever since the release of their 2001 album, Weathered. Before that, I really didn’t understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Weathered where Scott Stapp’s presence became more apparent. I think One Last Breath was the group’s undisputed masterpiece. It’s an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding two albums.

β€œYou are dying. I see in you all the characteristic stigma of decay. I can prove that your great wealth and your great poverty, your capitalism and your socialism, your wars and your revolutions, your atheism and your pessimism and your cynicism, your immorality, your broken-down marriages, your birth-control, that is bleeding you from the bottom and killing you off at the top in your brains-can prove to you that there are characteristic marks of the dying ages of ancient states - Alexandria and Greece and neurotic Rome.”

"If I accept the lowest in me, I lower a seed into the ground of Hell.

The seed is invisibly small, but the tree of my life grows from it and conjoins the Below with the Above.

At both ends there is fire and blazing embers.

The Above is fiery and the Below is fiery.

Between the unbearable fires grows your life.

You hang between these two poles.

In an immeasurably frightening movement the stretched hanging welters up and down.

"The falseness of a judgement is for us not necessarily an objection to a judgement; in this respect our new language may sound strangest. The true question is: to what extent it is the judgement life-promoting, life-preserving, race-preserving, perhaps even race-cultivating."
