Shaykh Ibn Uthyameen رحمه الله:

"Verily, a person does not know if he will reach the following Ramadan and what comes after it.

The seasons of goodness are like commercial seasons, just as merchants prepare for the buying and selling seasons by importing many different types of goods (to be sold for a profit),

likewise it is befitting for us to prepare with a complete preparation for the arrival of Ramadan with righteous deeds and keeping away from the forbidden matters.”

ʿAbdul-Majīd ibn ʿAbdul-ʿAzīz narrated from his father, who said:

Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan mentioned:

“Look at yourself, don’t look at the people and that which they are upon, look at yourself.

Allah Ta’alaa said,

O you who believe! Take care of your ownselves, [do righteous deeds, fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)].

If you follow the right guidance and enjoin what is right (Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do) and forbid what is wrong (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden) no hurt can come to you from those who are in error.

[5:105]

Don’t say: this is what all the people are upon, look at yourself and save yourself.

Leave the people if they don’t accept the truth, but you keep firm upon it, and don’t be misled with that which the people are upon.

{ یُؤۡتِی ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ مَن یَشَاۤءُۚ وَمَن یُؤۡتَ ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ فَقَدۡ أُوتِیَ خَیۡرࣰا كَثِیرࣰاۗ وَمَا یَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّاۤ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلۡأَلۡبَـٰبِ }

"He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given much good. And none will remember except those of understanding."

✍️ Al-Sa'di (رحمه الله) said:

When Allah commands great things full of wisdom and hidden meanings, not everyone is able to grasp them. Only those whom He blesses with wisdom can truly understand. Wisdom is the combination of beneficial knowledge, righteous action, and insight into the deeper meanings of the legislation and its rulings.

Whoever is granted wisdom has been given an immense blessing—one that leads to happiness in this life and salvation in the next. True wisdom makes a person a successor to the prophets because it perfects both their understanding and actions.

A person completes their intellectual strength by knowing the truth and its purpose, and their practical strength by acting righteously and avoiding wrongdoing. With this balance, they are able to judge matters correctly, both in their own life and in dealing with others. Without wisdom, this is impossible.

Allah created people with a natural inclination to worship Him, love goodness, and seek truth. He sent messengers as reminders, clarifying what people already sense in their hearts and explaining what they do not yet understand.

However, people respond in two ways:

Some accept this guidance, remembering what benefits them and acting upon it while avoiding harm. These are the truly wise—the people of sound intellect (أولو الألباب).

Others reject it, following the corruption that creeps into their nature and abandoning the obedience of their Lord. These are not from the people of true understanding.
That is why Allah says: “And none will be mindful except those of understanding” (وما يذكر إلا أولو الألباب).

Shaykh Sulayman ar-Ruhayli حفظه الله :

The religion is based on textual evidence, and there is no authentic proof for specifying the night and day of the fifteenth of Sha’ban with any particular action or statement. Rather, what is legislated in it is the same as what is legislated on other days. It is not to be singled out with any special standing in prayer, fasting, charity, supplication, or food.

As for the hadith: “When the night of the middle of Sha’ban comes, then fast its day and stand in prayer at night.”—it is very weak according to the hadith scholars, and a group of them even deemed it fabricated.

💡Explanation

The Arabic word for wealth, "maal" (مال), is derived from a root meaning "to incline" or "to pull." This highlights how money naturally attracts people's hearts—they are drawn to it, desire it, and often pursue it.

This statement reflects a deep understanding of human nature. Wealth has a powerful influence, shaping motivations, relationships, and decisions. It can be a means of good if used wisely, such as spending on charity and loved ones, but excessive attachment can lead to greed and materialism.

💡Virtues of Fasting

🪧Fasting is a shield and protection from Hellfire

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

"Whoever fasts a day for the sake of Allah, Allah will distance his face from Hellfire by seventy years."

📚 [Bukhari (2840), Muslim (1153)]

🪧 Fasting abundantly is a means to enter Jannah

Sahl ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

"In Paradise, there is a gate called Ar-Rayyan, through which only those who fast will enter on the Day of Judgment. It will be said: ‘Where are those who fasted?’ They will stand up, and no one else will enter through it. Once they have entered, the gate will be closed, and no one else will enter."

من تزوج فقد ركب البحر

Imam Sufyan Ath-Thawri, may Allāh have mercy on him, said: "Whoever marries has embarked upon the sea." [Tadhkirat As-Sāmi’, p. 36]

Commentary:

It is an extended metaphor, as the sea never remains in one state. At times, there is a tide, and at other times, a retreat.

One day, the waves are calm, accompanied by a gentle breeze, and another day, the waves are turbulent, accompanied by strong winds, and so on.

Thus, the one who sails the sea must endure all of this and steer the ship with wisdom until he reaches the shore safely.

Do not despair of Allaah’s Mercy:

In the Qur’aan, Allaah تعالى mentioned the faults and mistakes of his Prophets, not because He تعالى wanted to humiliate or dishonor them, but so that the people could connect and relate to them, and not despair and lose hope in His Mercy.

When a person commits a sin or does something really bad, and he now wants to repent, Shaitaan approaches him and says to him: “How do you expect Allaah to forgive you after you have done such a Major sin?”, or “Do you think you will be forgiven after you have done such-and-such?”

Whenever a person will try to repent, Shaitaan will keep stirring such doubts in his heart to discourage him from turning to Allaah in repentance and from seeking His forgiveness.

So, when you read in the Qur’aan that Aadam عليه السلام disobeyed Allaah while he was in Paradise, or when Yunus عليه السلام left his people and went off in anger, this helps in dispersing and weakening the plots of Shaitaan and getting rid of his evil whispers.

And here it becomes clear to us the Wisdom of Allaah. Allaah تعالى did not mention the mistakes of his Prophets to humiliate them, but He تعالى did so, so that the people get encouraged to turn to Allaah in repentance, and not despair of His Mercy.

THE GUARDIAN ANGELS

"For him (each person), there are angels in succession, before and behind him. They guard him by the Command of Allah." (13:11)

Allah states that there are angels who take turns guarding each servant, some by night and some by day. These angels protect each person from harm and accidents (when the decree of Allah comes – when He decrees that some accident or calamity etc. should befall him – the angels withdraw from him). There are also angels who take turns recording the good and evil deeds, some angels do this by day and some by night.

There are two angels, one to the right and one to the left of each person, recording the deeds. The angel to the right records the good deeds, while the angel to the left records the evil deeds.

There are also two angels that guard and protect each person, one from the back and one from in front.

Therefore, there are four angels that surround each person by day and they are replaced by four others at night, two scribes and two guards.
(and all of them assemble together at the time of the Fajr and 'Asr prayers – Sahih Bukhari 7486).

Chapter on Sujud-ul-Sahw

1- What is the ruling if out of forgetfulnes an Imam concludes Salah before completing it?

To His Eminence, respected Shaykh 'Abdul-' Aziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baaz, may Allah protect you!

I respectfully convey my greetings:

As-salamu alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh (may Allah's Peace, Mercy, and Blessings be upon you!) May Allah, the Creator, continue to shower us with the blessing of Islam! May Allah keep you safe! As for us, we are fine, praise be to Allah. May Allah keep you safe and obedient to Him! Kindly give us your Fatwa (legal opinion issued by qualified Muslim scholar) regarding an Imam who concludes Salah missing a Rak’ah (unit of Prayer) or two due to forgetfulness. Should he say Takbir (saying: “Allahu Akbar [Allah is the Greatest]”) and begin performing the remaining Rak’ah he missed or not?

May Allah, the Creator, preserve you! As-salamu alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh (May Allah's Peace, Mercy, and Blessings be upon you!)

May Allah keep you obedient to Him! Aameen. Please, give my greetings as well as the greetings of my children and brothers to yourself, your children and your brothers.

If out of forgetfulness an Imam offered Taslim (salutation of peace ending the Prayer) after two or three Rak’ahs, then the ruling is that he has to complete Salah if he remembers or if he is prompted. Thus, if he offered Taslim after the second Rak’ah, he has to resume Salah by sitting down (in the position of Tashahhud) and, then, stand up for the third Rak’ah by saying Takbir. On the other hand, if he offered Taslim after the third Rak’ah, then he has to intend to resume Salah without having to say Takbir. Thus, he and those performing Salah behind him should stand intending to resume Salah. After completing their Salah, they have to perform Sujud-ul-Sahw (Prostration of Forgetfulness) in both cases, i.e. if out of forgetfulness he offered Taslim after two or three Rak’ahs . It is better in this case to perform Sujud-ul-Sahw after saying Taslim and then say another Taslim. Yet, performing Sujud-ul-Sahw before saying Taslim is enough and there is no harm in doing so. May Allah guide us all to the best understanding of religion and to keep us firm on it! As-salamu ‘alaykum warahrnatullah wabarakatiuh.

👉 What do you think....

1️⃣If making Wudhoo’ (ablution) is a means for forgiveness…
2️⃣…and walking to (the Masjid for offering) the Salaah raises your rank and effaces your (minor) sins…
3️⃣…and your waiting for the Salaah after having offered the Salaah is like Ribaat (guarding the frontier)…
4️⃣…and the supplication made between the Adhaan and Iqaamah is not rejected…
5️⃣…and after you have offered the Salaah, the Angels supplicate for you…

🌟…then what do you think will be the reward of offering the Salaah itself?

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet ﷺ said:

"When the believer is dying, the angels of mercy come to him with white silk and sya: 'Come out content and with the pleasure of Allah upon you to the mercy of Allah, fragrance and a Lord Who is not angry; So it comes out like the best fragrance of musk. They pass him from one to another until they bring him to the gate of heaven, where they say: '; How good is this fragrance that has come to you from the Earth! Then the souls of the believers come to him and they rejoice more over him than any one of you rejoices when his absent loved one comes to him. They ask him: 'What happened to so-and-so, what happened to so-and-so?' They say: 'Let him be, for he was in the hardship of the world. When he says, 'Did he not come here?' They say: 'He was taken to the pit (of Hell).' Come out discontent, subject of Divine wrath, to the punishment of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime; So it comes out like the foulest stench of a corpse. They bring him to the gates of the Earth, where they say: 'How foul is this stench!' Then they bring him to the souls of the disbelievers."

Salaat Ar-Raghi’ib

This prayer is offered between Maghrib and ’Isha on the first Friday night in Rajab, and is preceded by fasting on the first Thursday of Rajab.

An-Nawawi -𝗆𝖺𝗒 𝖠𝗅𝗅𝖺𝗁 𝗁𝖺𝗏𝖾 𝗆𝖾𝗋𝖼𝗒 𝗎𝗉𝗈𝗇 𝗁𝗂𝗆- 𝗌𝖺𝗂𝖽:

“The prayer which is known as Salaat Ar-Ragha'ib, which is twelve rakahs that are offered between Maghrib and ‘Isha’ on the night of the first Friday in Rajab, and praying one hundred rakahs on the night of Nusf Shabaan (halfway through Islamic month Sha'aban) are both reprehensible innovations. No one should be deceived by the fact that they are mentioned in Qoot al-Quloob and Ihya’ ‘Uloom al-Deen, or by the hadeeth which is quoted in these two books, because all of that is false. No one should be deceived by some of those Imaams who were confused about the ruling on these prayers and wrote essays stating that they are mustahabb (recommended), for they are mistaken in that. Imaam Abu Muhammad ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn Isma’eel al-Maqdisi wrote a valuable book showing that they are false, and he did well in that, may Allah have mercy on him”.

In the hadith: “Do not single out the night of Friday with night prayer over the other nights.”

So how about specifying a particular Friday of the year for a specific night prayer? There is no doubt that this is an innovation (bid’ah) and something reprehensible.

An-Nawawi said: “The prayer known as Salat al-Ragha’ib, which consists of twelve rak’ahs performed between Maghrib and Isha on the first Friday night of Rajab, and the prayer of the night of the middle of Sha’ban, consisting of one hundred rak’ahs—these two prayers are reprehensible and ugly innovations.”

💡The prohibition of posting pictures of the deceased can be derived from Islamic principles and evidences in the Qur'an and Sunnah related to the continuation of sin and the issue of taswir (image-making). Here is a well-grounded explanation:

1. Sin Can Continue After Death
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said
:

Whoever sets a bad example in Islam will bear its burden and the burden of those who act upon it after him, without that detracting from their burden in the slightest.”
(Sahih Muslim, 1017)

If someone posts a picture of the deceased in a manner that leads to sin (e.g., through inappropriate adornment, improper exposure, or triggering unlawful gazes), the sin of such actions could continue to accumulate for both the one who posted it and the deceased. This is because the action is directly connected to the deceased's image.

2. Taswir (Image-Making) is Prohibited
The Prophet (ﷺ) said
:

The people who will be most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection will be the image-makers.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, 5950; Sahih Muslim, 2109)

Islam places strict guidelines on the use of pictures and images, especially those that depict humans or animate beings. Even if the intention is not to worship, spreading such images can lead to misuse or disrespect of the deceased, contrary to the dignity required for the dead in Islam.

3. Respect for the Deceased
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

Breaking the bone of a dead person is like breaking it when he is alive.”
(Sunan Abu Dawood, 3207; graded Sahih)

This hadith emphasizes the sanctity of the deceased. Posting pictures may lead to disrespect or unnecessary exposure, which is against the dignity Islam prescribes for the deceased.

4. Focus on Du’a Instead of Images
Islam emphasizes making du’a and giving charity on behalf of the deceased instead of actions that may lead to worldly distractions. Allah says:

And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives.”
(Surah An-Najm, 53:39)

Posting pictures offers no benefit to the deceased but may instead lead to sinful consequences, contradicting the purpose of deeds meant for their benefit after death.

Conclusion

Posting pictures of the deceased can result in sins that continue even after their passing due to the potential misuse of the images or actions stemming from them. Islam encourages preserving the sanctity of the deceased through respectful remembrance, du’a, and beneficial deeds, rather than exposing them in ways that may lead to harm or disrespect.

💡A bad spouse ⤵️

Imam Ash-Shāfi'ee, may Allāh have mercy upon him, said:

I heard one of our companions, whom I trust, say: ‘I married in order to safeguard my religion, but I ended up losing it, along with my mother's and my neighbors’.'”
[Manaqib Ash-Shafi’i by Al-Bayhaqi (2/192)]

✍️Marriage is a means to protect and strengthen one’s faith, yet how often do we witness the opposite? This warning applies not only to brothers but to sisters as well. Many sisters, with hopes of maintaining their Deen, end up losing it after marriage.

This happens when the spouse fails to support their partner’s journey to Allah, leading to neglect of responsibilities, weak faith, and harm to their surroundings. Therefore, choosing a spouse should be based on their Taqwa (piety) and dedication to the Deen, as this is the foundation for a successful marriage that draws one closer to Allah.

May Allah grant us righteous spouses who are a source of goodness in this life and the Hereafter.

“New Years” The Festival Of Disbelievers Not Muslims.

Allāh says in Qur'ān: والذين لا يشهدون الزور

“And those who do not witness falsehood..” • [al-Qur'ān 25:72]

Mujāhid and other than him from the Salaf said that falsehood (Zoor) refers to the festivals of disbelievers.

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Whoever imitates a nation then he is from amongst them.”

● [رواه أبو داود]

قال عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه : اجتنبوا أعداء الله في عيدهم.

‘Umar b. al-Khaṭṭāb رضي الله عنه said: “Avoid the enemies of Allāh during their festivals.” and in one narration with addition “.. for the Wrath of Allāh descends upon them during it.”

b) seeking His forgiveness for our shortcomings and sins

SHIRK IS THE GREATEST ZULM (Wrong) 🚫

Narrated 'Abdullah (رضى الله عنه): When there was revealed – "It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their Belief with Zulm (wrong)." (6:82) – it was very hard for the Companions of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ).

So they said: "Which of us has not confused his Belief with Zulm (wrong)?"

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "The verse does not mean this. Don't you hear Luqman's statement to his son: 'Verily! Joining others in worship with Allah is a great Zulm (wrong) indeed.'" (31:13)

📚: Sahih Bukhari 4776

"Zulm in the verse means 'Shirk' (i.e., joining others in worship with Allah)."

📚: Sahih Bukhari 3360

"It is those who believe and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided." (6:82)

Therefore, those who worship Allah alone without partners, will acquire safety on the Day of Resurrection, and they are the guided ones in this life and the Hereafter.

Congratulating Kuffār Their Festivals Would Neither Earn You Their Respect Nor Their Pleasure So Beware Of Losing Your Religion!!

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim Raḥimahullāh said: “And as for congratulating Kuffār on the rituals which are SPECIFIC to them, then it is ḤARĀM (FORBIDDEN) by the AGREEMENT (of Fuqahā), for example congratulating them on their festivals and fasts by saying: ‘A happy festival to you’ or ‘May you enjoy your festival,’ and so on, so if the one who says this has been saved from Kufr, it is STILL FORBIDDEN, and it is like congratulating someone for PROSTRATING to the CROSS, rather that (congratulating Kuffār) is GREATER of a SIN with Allāh.

And it is MORE HATEFUL (to Allāh) than congratulating someone for DRINKING WINE, or MURDERING an INNOCENT SOUL, or COMMITTING ADULTERY, and the likes of it, and many of those who have NO RESPECT for their religion fall into that (error); without REALISING the OFFENSIVENESS of their action, so whoever congratulates a person for his DISOBEDIENCE or BID’AH or KUFR thus exposes himself to the WRATH and ANGER of Allāh.”

● [أحكام أهل الذمة ١/١٦١]

As for those who say ‘Well we congratulate disbelievers Christmas and New Year out of courtesy and good manners’, then we say: O Miskeen the Messenger of Allāh Ṣallallāhu-‘Alaihi Wa Sallam and his Companions (Raḍi-Allāhu ‘Anhum) were more courteous and well-mannered than you and I yet they never congratulated Kuffār for their ‘Eīds or New Year.

Sh. Ibn 'Uthaymeen Raḥimahullāh said:

“Wishing disbelievers Christmas or other religious festivals of theirs is ḤARĀM (IMPERMISSIBLE) by the AGREEMENT (of scholars).”

And last but not least remember this 👇

ولن ترضى عنك اليهود ولا النصارى حتى تتبع ملتهم قل إن هدى الله هو الهدى ولئن اتبعت أهواءهم بعد الذي جاءك من العلم ما لك من الله من ولي ولا نصير
“Never will the Jews nor the Christians be PLEASED with you TILL you FOLLOW their RELIGION. Say: 'Verily, the Guidance of Allāh (i.e. Islamic Monotheism) that is the (only) Guidance. And if you (O Muḥammad, Peace be upon him) were to follow their (Jews and Christians) desires after what you have received of Knowledge (i.e. the Qur’ān), then you would have against Allāh neither any Walī (protector or guardian) nor any helper.” — [al-Qur’ān 2:120]

In the Name of Allah, the Entirely Gracious, the Exclusively Merciful

📩 Question:

The questioner asks: Some people, when they feel an itch in their hand, say, "I will receive some provision." Sometimes this does indeed happen. What is the ruling on this belief?

📝 Answer:

This is a grave error. It is not permissible for a person to attribute outcomes to causes that are neither legislated (by Shariah) nor naturally effective. This is not among valid causes.

Believing that this is a reason for provision is a false belief. Optimism is not through such things. It has been reported from the Prophet (ﷺ) that optimism is in good words and righteous speech.

As for such matters, they may coincide as a trial from Allah, where wealth might indeed come to the person. This is a manipulation by the devils, aiming to make people believe in causes that are neither legislated nor naturally effective. Consequently, they lead people into minor shirk, such as when a devil knows that a certain person intends to gift wealth to someone else and causes an itch in their hand or the like.

Therefore, a Muslim must fear Allah and stay away from such beliefs.

Dua For Forgiveness

From Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allaah [ﷺ] used to say in his Sajda:

«اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي كُلَّهُ، دِقَّهُ وَجِلَّهُ ، وَأَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ، وَعَلَانِيَتَهُ وَسِرَّهُ.»

❝O Allaah forgive me all my sins, the minor of them and the major of them, the first of them and the last of them, the ones committed secretly and openly.❞

[Collected By Muslim]

-

Shaykh Muhammad Bin Salih al-Uthaymeen said:

❝This is from the practice of making a comprehensive and broad Dua. This is because Dua is worship so every time a person repeats a Dua then he increases in worship of Allaah [عز و جل].

Also, by him repeating the Dua then he will remember all sins those committed secretly and openly. Likewise, those he hid, also the minute of them and the major of them. This is the wisdom why the Prophet [ﷺ] elaborated after generalising.

It is necessary for a person to have concern for the Duas which were mentioned by the Messenger of Allaah [ﷺ] because they are the most comprehensive Dua and the most beneficial Dua.

May Allaah give us and yourselves success in that which is goodness and benefit.❞

💡A Concern for Islamic Schools

It’s alarming that some schools claiming to be Islamic are asking children questions like, “We celebrate Christmas,” normalizing non-Islamic practices. Christmas is not a celebration for Muslims, and teaching this to children undermines their Islamic identity.

"And they say, 'The Most Merciful has taken a son.' You have brought forth an atrocious thing. The heavens almost rupture therefrom, the earth splits, and the mountains collapse in devastation." (Qur'an 19:88-90)

Islamic schools must teach love for Allah, His Messenger ﷺ, and protect children from confusion. Parents must pay attention to their kids and what they learn from these schools, ensuring they align with Islamic values.

"O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones..." (Qur'an 66:6)

Let’s protect our children and preserve the purity of the Deen.

📌 It is astonishing to see that those who recite in their prayers: ❝He (Allaah) begets not, nor is He begotten❞, yet they are seen wishing and celebrating with those who ascribe a son to Allaah!

🚫 Do not listen to those who make excuses and say that wishing is not like celebrating.

🚫 Christmas is not a part of Christianity, there is nothing in their books to support the claim. The Christians are only imitating the pagans in their rituals. As Allaah تعالى said:

{And the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allah's Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!}
