Dear AIS Community,
Finally, our textbooks have arrived at Bole International Airport yesterday October 13, 2024. The local agent of Mallory International (suppliers) have started the custom and clearance process . It may take one more week to be released. We do everything we can to finalize the process as urgent as possible.
We are very much thankful for your patience and understanding.
We would like to acknowledge the PTSA technical committee for their collaboration and commitment to make this happen.
Our special thankfulness goes to Dr. Dawit Abebe who has worked with the school very closely starting from the selection of textbooks and laboratory equipments. Together with AIS parents who work for Ethiopian Airlines, his limitless effort to follow up the process and get discounts for the books’ transportation is

Subject: Clarifying the Transition to the Pearson Edexcel British Curriculum

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As you are aware, starting from the 2023/24 academic year, our school has been accredited to teach the Pearson Edexcel British curriculum, covering Reception through Year 13. In line with this transition, we are focused on helping our students adapt to the British curriculum and preparing them for international examinations.

However, during this transition period, students are not required to take IGCSE, AS, or A Level exams until the 2025/26 academic year, which has been designated as a grace period by both our school and Pearson. During this time, we remain committed to supporting students who are eligible in taking the Grade 12 National Exams.

For students who are ineligible in taking the Grade 12 National Exam, we offer the same level of support to prepare them for international exams. The school is ready to provide extra classes when necessary, in addition to the regular program, to ensure that every student receives the guidance they need.

All students will utilize Pearson resources, supplemented by additional materials that will be helpful for the exams they choose to take. Whether they opt for national or international exams, Pearson’s resources offer valuable tools for a detailed understanding of subject matter and the development of critical thinking skills.

Please note that while the concepts in subjects like science remain consistent across curricula, the presentation and methodology may differ. Our teachers are working diligently to align the Pearson curriculum with the National curriculum to ensure a smooth transition. The school is dedicated to helping all students prepare for their chosen exams and will continue to offer comprehensive support.

We understand that there may be challenges during this transition period, but we are confident that with the commitment of our school and the cooperation of parents, we can pave the way for our children’s success.

ትምህርት ቤታችን ከ2016 ዓ.ም ጀምሮ ዓለም አቀፍ ደረጃውን ለመጠበቅ የፒርሰንን ሥርዓተ ትምህርት ለመተግበር ህጋዊ ፈቃድ አግኝቶ፣ አስፈላጊ የሆኑ ዝግጅቶችን በማሟላት ተማሪዎቻችንን ለውጤት ለማብቃት በመስራት ላይ ይገኛል፡፡ ይሁንና በሥርዓተ ትምህርቱ አዲስነት ምክንያት የሽግግር ጊዜ ላይ በመሆናችን ተማሪዎቻችን እስከ 2018 ዓ.ም መጨረሻ ድረስ የIGCSEም ሆነ A Level ፈተናዎችን ለመውሰድ እንደማይገደዱ የፒርሰን ቦርድ ተወካይ አረጋግጦልናል፡፡ ይህ የተደረገው ተማሪዎቻችን በዚህ የሽግግር ጊዜ ውስጥ በቂ ዝግጅት ሳይኖራቸው ለፈተና መቀመጣቸው ውጤታማ ስለማያደርጋቸው ነው፡፡ ስለዚህ ለብሔራዊ ፈተና ትኩረት ሰጥተው እንዲሰሩ ይደረጋል፡፡
በሌላ በኩል ደግሞ በተለያየ ምክንያት ብሔራዊ ፈተና መውሰድ የማይችሉ የተወሰኑ ተማሪዎች ይኖራሉ፡፡ እነዚህም ተማሪዎች በተመሳሳይ ሁኔታ በግልም ሆነ በቡድን ተጨማሪ ዕገዛ እየተደረገላቸው ለሚመርጡት ፈተና ይዘጋጃሉ፡፡
ሁሉም ተማሪዎች የፒርሰንን ሪሶርስ (መፅሐፍ፣ ቤተ-ሙከራ፣ የትምህርት መረጃ መሳሪያ) ይጠቀማሉ፡፡ ብሔራዊ ፈተና ለሚወስዱትም ሆነ ለሌሎች የውጪ ፈተናዎች ለሚዘጋጁት የፒርሰንን ሪሶርስ መጠቀም የሚጠቅም እንጂ የሚጎዳ አይደለም፡፡ ምክንያቱም፣ በተለይ የሳይንስ ኮርስን በተመለከተ፣ የአቀራረብና የጥልቀት ጉዳይ ካልሆነ በስተቀር መሰረታዊ ፅነሰ ሀሳብ አይለያይም፡፡ የትምህርት ቤታችን ኃላፊነት ሁሉም ተማሪዎች በየምርጫቸው ለሚወስዱት ፈተና ትኩረት ሰጥቶ ማዘጋጀት ነው፡፡ ይህንን ለማከናወን ከመደበኛው የትምህርት ክፍለ ጊዜ ውጪ ተጨማሪ ዕገዛ ለሚያስፈልጋቸው ይደረጋል፡፡ በዚህ የሽግግር ጊዜ የአፈፃፀም ችግር እንደሚከሰት ይገመታል፡፡ ነገር ግን ተማሪዎቻችንን ለውጤት ለማብቃት የትምህርት ቤቱ ቁርጠኝነትና የወላጆች ትብብር እስካለ ድረስ እናሳካዋለን ብለን እናምናለን፡፡

ት/ቤታችን የፈቃድ ዕድሳት እንዲደረግለት ለኢፌዴሪ ትምህርትና ስልጠና ባለሥልጣን ጥያቄ ያቀረበው ሚያዝያ 22 ቀን 2016 ዓ.ም ሲሆን፣ ባለሥልጣኑ የባለሙያዎችን ቡድን ወደ ትምህርት ቤታችን ልኮ አጠቃላይ ግምገማ አስደርጎ፣ ህጋዊ ዶክመንቶች፣ የትምህርት መርጃ መሳሪያዎችና የመማሪያ ክፍሎች የመሳሰሉት መሙዋላታቸውን አረጋግጦ የጎደሉት እንዲስተካከሉ ተጠይቀን አሟልተናል። የቀሩትንም በሟሟላት ላይ እንገኛለን። ባለሙያዎቹ በእጃችን የሰጡን የግምገማ ውጤት የሚያሳየው ት/ቤታችን ማሻሻል ያለበትን እንጂ ፈቃድ የሚያስከለክል አይደለም።
ይሁንና የተጠየቅነዉን አሟልተን የጎደሉትን እያስተካከልን ትምህርት ለመጀመር ጥቂት ቀናቶች ሲቀሩን ነሀሴ 21 ቀን 2016 ዓ.ም ት/ቤታችን ፈቃዱ እንደማይታደስና ወደ አ ዲስ አበባ ከተማ አስተዳደር ትምርህትና ስልጠና ቁጥጥር ባለስልጣን እንድናመለክት ደብዳቤ ደርሶናል።
ት/ቤታችንም ባለሥልጣኑ ወቅቱን ያላገናዘበና አግባብነት የሌለዉ አስተዳደራዊ ውሳኔውን እንዲያስተካክል ህግን በተከተለ መንገድ ቅሬታችንን አቅርበን መልሱን በመጠባበቅ ላይ ነን። የወላጅ ኮሚቴም በዚሁ ጉዳይ ላይ አብሮን እየሰራ መሆኑን ለማሳወቅ እንወዳለን። ውጤቱን በተስፋ እንጠብቃለን።

We are thrilled to announce the outstanding performance of our students in this year’s Grade 12 Ethiopian Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (ESSLCE) at Andinet International School. Out of the 49 students who sat for the exam, an impressive 71% scored above 300, with 10 students achieving scores exceeding 400. We are especially proud of Leul Berhe, who achieved the highest score among AIS students with an impressive 462.

These remarkable achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, and staff, particularly given the challenges faced during the 2023-2024 academic year. We commend everyone involved for their contributions to this success, and we are delighted to celebrate this collective effort.

Update: Book Order Status

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We would like to inform you that the book order has been placed. However, due to the recent exchange rate policy change, there have been some unavoidable delays in the process.

Please be assured that we are making every effort to secure the books as soon as possible, including shipment by air cargo to ensure timely delivery. The supplier is currently working on expediting the process, and the Letter of Credit (LC) has been confirmed.

የሚቀጥለው ዓመት የመመዝገቢያና የትምህርት ክፍያ ያለቅጣት የመክፈያ ግዜ ገደብ የሚያበቃው የሚቀጥለው እሮብ ሐምሌ 10 ቀን 2016 ዓ.ም. መሆኑን ልናስታውስ እንወዳለን ። ከሐምሌ 11 ቀን 2016 ዓ.ም. በኋላ የሚከፈሉ ክፍያዎች ላይ 5% ቅጣት የሚጨመር ሲሆን ከሐምሌ 23 ቀን 2016 ዓ.ም. በኋላ ደግሞ 10% ቅጣት የሚጨምር ይሆናል ።
