Don’t fall into their traps. Instead, suggest that they read this hadith and seek interpretations from various scholars. Encourage them to reflect on how much time and well-being have already been squandered and remind them how swiftly days come and go. The Persistent Arguers  Responded With Gentleness When They Think, "We can Provoke This One".

They say, "Fight back or you’re a coward and not a true man," they are told, "Let’s confront our Nufus together, ensuring that every battle we face is rooted in righteousness and sincerity, aiming to support the truth rather than our egos. If this means I lack true manhood in your eyes, I’m okay with that."

They say: "You’ve learned a lesson," they told, "You should be happy that your Muslim brother has learnt a lesson."

They say with sarcasm, "You’ve humbled yourself," they are told, "Thank you for the reminder;  keep on reminding me until not even an atom's weight of  arrogance remains."

They say, "Who do you think you are?" They are told, "If I am adhering to falsehood, please guide me with the right teachings. However, if your aversion to the truth makes you dismissive, let’s not prolong this conversation to avoid further wrongdoing."

They say, "Will you not be quiet?" They are told, "Only if it leads to sin, gossip, exaggeration, lying or falsehood, or to fulfil your desires".

They say, "Defend yourself and why would you worry about the critics," they are told, "Only if the truth is clear and not ambiguous."

They say, "Your words are just philosophy," they are told, "I’ve given you ample time to explore these matters in the sacred texts and consult a knowledgeable teacher. Unless you seek my help with worldly matters, our discussions will pause for a year. Remember this hadith:

Abu Amr Ibn Hammas, rahimahullaah: There has been some disagreement regarding his name. Some say it is Yusuf ibn Yunus, while others assert it is Yunus ibn Yusuf. According to Muhammad ibn Talha, Abu Amr was a devout and diligent worshipper who prayed at night. He had a strong inclination towards women, which led him to supplicate to Allah to take away his sight. His request was granted, and he lost his vision. Unable to bear the blindness, he subsequently supplicated for the restoration of his sight. One day, while in the mosque, he raised his head and looked at a lamp. He called to his servant, asking, "What is this?" The servant replied, "It is the lamp." He then inquired about the others, counting the lamps in the mosque. Overcome with gratitude for the return of his sight, he fell to the ground in prostration. From that moment on, whenever he encountered a woman, he would lower his head, and he maintained a practice of fasting continuously.

One of those amazing brothers we have met!

Have you encountered that one who readily acknowledges that another person possesses greater knowledge than they do? Then, he takes a moment to reflect when someone else, despite being more honest, truthful, and devout, considers themselves to be of lesser status than him. Thus, he recognizes that his own knowledge does not surpass that of the person who considers himself less knowledgeable. Furthermore, such realisations stir a sense of unease within him, making him fearful of elevating himself above others or considering himself more worthy of anything, as doing so can blind one to their true reality and flaws, regardless of the praise he may receive from others. Thus, instead of fixating on external opinions, he compels himself to constant self-reflection, aware that he might be misled about his true self and overly comfortable with what Allah has concealed about his reality. This introspection occurs repeatedly in various situations, and those around him witness the consistency of his words through his actions, as he strives for Allah's pleasure and maintain humility, even when he holds a position of advantage. Consequently, wise individuals prefer his company over that of many others, even if he is less visible or less vocal about his knowledge. This is because his presence embodies the essence of knowledge, going beyond mere information sharing to demonstrate one's attainments.

Abu Ubaidillah, the government minister, reported that he heard Amir Al-Muminin Abu Ja'far  Al-Mansur, addressed his son, Al-Mahdi, saying: "O Abu Abdillah! When you wish to undertake a matter, reflect upon it; for the contemplation of a sensible person serves as a mirror, revealing both its merits and demerits. O Abu Abdillah, a caliph can only be rectified through piety, authority can only be upright through obedience to Allah, and the populace can only be rectified through justice. The person whose forgiveness is the greatest among people is the one most capable of punishment, and the least rational among the people is the one who wrongs those beneath him."

Taawus Al-Yamani, may Allah have mercy upon him, entered the presence of Hisham Ibn Abdil Malik, may Allah have mercy upon him, and said to him, "Fear the Day of the Call". He inquired, "What is the Day of the Call?" Taawus said: "It the statement of Allah:

وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ أَن قَدْ وَجَدْنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّا فَهَلْ وَجَدتُّم مَّا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا قَالُوا۟ نَعَمْ فَأَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌۢ بَيْنَهُمْ أَن لَّعْنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

And the dwellers of Paradise will call out to the dwellers of the Fire (saying): "We have indeed found true what our Lord had promised us; have you also found true, what your Lord promised (warnings, etc.)?" They shall say: "Yes." Then a crier will proclaim between them: "The Curse of Allah is on the wrong-doers". [Al-A'raf 44]

Tawus then remarked, "This is a characteristic of the ignominy of that Call, then how about when witnessed in reality?!"

*True Humility is Honourable and Elevates a Person*

Shaykh al-Uthaymeen (rahimahullah),

“Humility is from the most important affairs for a student of knowledge, because humility is a characteristic from the tremendous characteristics of the Messenger (peace and blessing upon him) as Allah (عز و جل) said regarding him,

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ

Two Narrations Cautious Friends Constantly Bring to Our Attention

Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “Whoever wants to follow a path, let him follow the path of one who has passed away, for indeed the living are not safe from trial, and those (who have passed away) are the Companions of Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. They were the most virtuous of this Ummah, the purest in heart, the most profound in knowledge and the least the sophisticated. Allah chose them to accompany His Prophet and to establish His religion, so recognise their status and follow in their footsteps and adhere as much as you can to their manners  and conduct, for they were upon upright guidance”.

May Allah have mercy upon you! Examine carefully the speech of everyone you hear from in your time in particularly. Therefore, do not act in haste and do not enter in anything regarding it until you enquire and Observe: Did any of the Prophet's companions speak about it, or any of the scholars? Then, if you find a narration from them regarding it, adhere to it, do not go beyond it for anything and do not give precedence to anything over it, thus fall into the Fire.

However, Musa experienced a sense of jealousy regarding this significant achievement attributed to Tariq. He subsequently wrote to Al-Walid to report the conquest and cautioned Tariq, as the latter had entered Spain without prior authorisation. Musa instructed Tariq to refrain from advancing beyond his current position until they could meet. Musa then hastened with his army into Spain, accompanied by Habib Bin Abee Ubaidah Al-Fahriy. Upon their meeting, Tariq expressed, "I am indeed your protégé, and this conquest is yours."

Wabara ibn Abdir-Rahman, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, advised him with words that are more valuable than precious stones. He said to me: "O Wabara! Do not involve yourself in matters that do not concern you, for that is better, otherwise, I cannot say you will be free from sin. Refrain from engaging in many issues that concern you until you find a suitable situation for them. Indeed, there are those who, despite their righteousness, may speak on a matter inappropriately, leading to their downfall. Do not argue with a patient person or a foolish one, for the patient may cause you distress, while the foolish one may lead you to ruin. Remember your brother when he is absent from you with all the qualities you wish to be remembered by when you are not present. Avoid those things you would prefer he refrain from regarding you, and act as a man who knows he will be rewarded for his good deeds and held accountable for his misdeeds.

The Advice of Shaykh Rabīʿ Bin Hādī Regarding Tawḥīd, Sincerity, Taqwā, Unity and Brotherhood (2013)

And you must build brotherly union in [all affairs] between yourselves, go hand in hand (with each other to achieve unity), and cooperate upon righteousness and piety and (you must) keep far away from separation all of its causes. The person who comes to the Salafi Daʿwah must adopt this methodology, he should keep away from all the ways that kindle differences and separation.

There are some people who stir up the causes of separation, they stir up tribulations and thereby tear up the Salafis, rupturing them [into pieces]. This is not from the correct methodology, and nor from the Salafi way, and nor from the methodology of the Ṣaḥābah and Tābiʿīn. Some people (deliberately) seek out and find ways which split and tear apart. Such people are not to be trusted with respect to the dīn of Allāh, the Blessed and Exalted...
