“Humility is from the most important affairs for a student of knowledge, because humility is a characteristic from the tremendous characteristics of the Messenger (peace and blessing upon him) as Allah (عز و جل) said regarding him,

It is narrated on the authority of Amir al-Mu'minin (Leader of the Believers), Abu Hafs 'Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), say "Actions are according to intentions, and everyone will get what was intended. Whoever migrates with an intention for Allah and His messenger, the migration will be for the sake of Allah and his Messenger. And whoever migrates for worldly gain or to marry a woman, then his migration will be for the sake of whatever he migrated for."

Question 6:
Why did Allah send the Messengers?

He sent them to call to His worship alone and to negate associating partners with Him in worship. Allah The Most High said,

وَلَقَدۡ بَعَثۡنَا فِى ڪُلِّ أُمَّةٍ۬ رَّسُولاً أَنِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ‌ۖ فَمِنۡهُم مَّنۡ هَدَى ٱللَّهُ وَمِنۡهُم مَّنۡ حَقَّتۡ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلضَّلَـٰلَةُ‌ۚ فَسِيرُواْ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَٱنظُرُواْ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ (٣٦)

And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [proclaiming], "Worship Allah and avoid Taghoot." And among them were those whom Allah guided, and among them were those upon whom error was [deservedly] decreed. So travel through the land and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth). (An-Nahl:36)

The meaning of Taghoot, is a devil which calls to the worship of other than Allah.*

Prophetic Evidence:
The prophet (peace and blessings upon him) said,

The Prophets are [like] paternal brothers; their mothers are different but their religion is one.” (Bukhāri & Muslim)

(The religion of all Prophets is one and it is Tawheed, just as paternal brothers have the same father; and their laws and legislation are different just as they have different mothers.)

Ihsān is remembering and being aware when performing worship that Allāh Knows, Sees and Hears all that you do.

Quranic Evidence:

ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ (٢١٩)

A young woman says that she has been practising [the religion] for about a year and she thanks Allah for that, but [she says]: My heart is in a constant state of change and alteration. Sometimes I notice strength in my Eemaan [faith] and a [strong] concern for the prayer with humility and a love for good. And sometimes this strength is diminished and I notice hardness in my heart. Take the time out to ponder and think about the lives and deaths of those who have passed away.

Reflect on how they achieved their worldly ambitions and amassed wealth, but then they were cut off from all that and their wealth is no longer of any use to them.

The earth has wiped out the beauty of their faces, their bodies have disintegrated in their graves, their wives have become widows, and their children have become orphans.
Reflect on the absurdity of being deceived by material means, of relying on good health and youth, and of being attached to entertainment and leisure.
