Whoever Prays at Night Will Have a Radiant Face During the Day

Imam Ibn al-Jawzi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

"Whoever prays at night will have a radiant face during the day. The quality of love (for Allah) cannot be hidden, and the expressions on faces are read even by those who have not written them."

Humility in Da'wah through Admitting Mistakes

Shaykh Rabi' al-Madkhali (may Allah preserve him) said:

"Whoever has made a mistake should find it easy to return from their mistake for the benefit of this da'wah, to protect it, and to unite the word, whether the mistake comes from this side or that side, as none of us are infallible."

The Consequences of Worldly Attachment

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

"The lover of this world is never free from three things: on-going worry, constant fatigue, and never-ending regret."

📚 [Ighathat al-Lahfan (58/1)].

Important Note: Alhamdulillah. Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) is reminding us that chasing the worldly desires at the cost of the hereafter leads to worry, exhaustion, and regret. However loving the good and pure things in life like family, halal wealth, etc. is permissible, as long as it doesn’t become one’s main concern and distracts a person from the remembrance of Allah. Wallahu-‘alam.

Protecting the Heart

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

"If iron isn't used, it rusts and decays. In the same way, if the heart is neglected and lacks love of Allah, longing for Him, and remembering Him, ignorance takes over it until it kills it and destroys it."

Between Gratefulness and Repentance

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

"The servant is always between a blessing from Allah for which he needs to give thanks, and a sin for which he needs to seek forgiveness. Both of these are necessary for the servant at all times. He continues to move between Allah’s blessings and favours, while always being in need of repentance and seeking forgiveness."

Abandoning Arrogance is a Condition to Attain Virtues

"Arrogance is the foundation of vice. The first thing to abandon is arrogance itself, as it stops one from gaining virtues. Therefore, the condition for attaining virtues is to abandon arrogance."

The Scholar, Al-Shanqeeti (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

The Importance of a Heartfelt Remembrance

﴿وَلا تُطِعْ مَنْ أَغْفَلْنَا قَلْبَهُ عَنْ ذِكْرِنَا﴾

"And do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance." (Al-Kahf, 18:28).

Imam Ibn Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

"It is not said that We made his tongue heedless of Our remembrance; true heedlessness is the heedlessness of the heart. Therefore, remembrance should come from the depths of your heart, not just from your tongue while your heart is heedless."
