Aging Alexithymic is a sound exploration project of Yassine Kharrat, a Tunisian multipotentialite artist, blooming from an interest in the variety of music and its effect on thought, and driven by an approach that changes according to sensory experiences.

With music, there is a deeper conversation with what cannot be verbalized and beyond. It is a tool to embrace the temptation of thinking without resistance. This communication leads to sensitive construction, which is worth sharing.

sinister flower episode with Fernando Faydella (th.esa.ver) (Ldy Dly) — a producer and DJ from CDMX, who works with eclectic sounds, ranging from ambient and drone, to techno for the club. A percussionist for experimental rock and dream pop bands, he is currently working on an EP for a cassette release via the Mexican record label Cintas Oblicuas.

“In music, there's no physical Time” (Nancy, JL. P. 40. 2015). Sound is presence and not representation. The act of hearing is an invocation in resonance with the instrument that sounds and vibrates with the instrument that listens.

Manuel Sékou, who operates under the moniker luxxuryproblems is an audio/visual artist whose work is structured through assembling, archiving and confronting fragments of projection and reality.

On this show, he crunched an extraction of current interests in styles of spoken word(s), electroacoustic fragments as well as grounding beat-driven patterns. Edited, stretched and twisted interplays are serving as an unsorted yet cut-up diary of moods. It translates a dialogue of focus and distraction within a season of intense traffic. The layered material aims to slowly shift attentiveness into a state of being in between selective consciousness and doze.

YancityGurl signs the third episode of the Ready-to-Wear series.

“This mix was recorded during a period that is difficult to mark with some kind of characteristic gesture or... difficult to choose the color of a felt-tip pen to encircle the desired timecode.

But perhaps we could state that this sonorous canvas expresses a step towards uncertainty within which a ray of the full color spectrum shines through.

Stay safe and true.”

the songs in this mix are sung by women, and their haunting stories speak a time and a place you’re bound to, and although right now you may not remember why, you will as you listen.

you’re thinking of ‘fandala', a pontic greek word for women that talk a lot, of how there’s no word like this for men and how when your grandpa called you such you stopped speaking your thoughts and started humming melodies.

also of borderlands, cliffs melting into water, moving east, against the clock, abandoning habits, implicitly imposed, hugging ghosts, reclaiming what’s yours, tasting old intervals, with new tongues, reconnecting dots, decoding traces, wearing your grandpa’s sweater, your grandma’s silence, your dad’s throat tumor, your mom’s singing loud and clear over the sink, over the voice of those who called her out of tune —

The second episode of Ready-to-Wear, the aairs duo’s contribution to our series, interweaves two points of departure.

The first of these is The Detroit Escalator Company’s track “Gathering Memory”, which begins with an in-situ recording of a directional instruction given to a woman who seems to have lost her way in Detroit.

The second is the opening of “Mammame” by Jean-Claude Gallota and Serge Houpin, a modern ballet that, like an alternative to a Samuel Beckett drama, begins with the fall of a man.
