Narrated Abu Hurayrah ุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู†ู‡:

When the Messenger of Allฤh ๏ทบ died and Abu Bakr ุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู†ู‡ was appointed as a Caliph after him, some of the Arabs reverted to disbelief.

โ€˜Umar ุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู†ู‡ said to Abu Bakr ุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู†ู‡, โ€œHow can you fight against the people whatโ€™s the Messenger of Allฤh ๏ทบ said: โ€˜I have been ordered to fight the people till they says: โ€˜None has the right to be worshipped but Allฤhโ€™ is pardoned with regards to his wealth and his life from me unless he deserves a legal punishment, and his reckoning will be with Allฤh!

Abu Bakr ุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู†ู‡ said, โ€œBy Allฤh, I will fight whoever discriminates between Zakฤh and Salฤh - for Zakฤh is the compulsory right to be taken from the wealth. By Allฤh, if they refuse to give me even a tying rope (of a camel) which they used to give to the Messenger of Allฤh ๏ทบ, I would fight them for withholding it.โ€

โ€˜Umar ุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู†ู‡ said, โ€˜By Allฤh, it was nothing, except that I saw that Allฤh had opened the chest of Abu Bakr ุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู†ู‡ to fight, and I came to know for certain that was the truth.โ€
