My name is Syrlybayev Damir. I got accepted into Washington and Lee University for a full-ride scholarship!
I am a senior at NSPM Astana, and my stats are 8 APs, 7.5 IELTS, 3.9 GPA, and 1450 SAT.

I am part of the student council this year. I had my coding club and was a finalist and winner of national and international olympiads in Informatics, such as the Int. Zhautikov Olympiad, Eurasian CS team olympiad and etc. I would love to thank my mom first, as she was my number one fan. She helped me with my CSS Profile, supported me morally, and believed in me.

I first participated in the EducationUSA Summer Camp 2024, and I’m very grateful for the EducationUSA team, especially Mrs. Madina (@madinyan.a), with whom I have worked since the beginning of this summer. Elizabeth Wishnick is a Senior Research Scientist in the China and Indo-Pacific Security Affairs Division at CNA. She was a Political Science Professor at Montclair State University (2005-2024) and coordinated MSU’s Asian Studies Minor (2010-2019). Since 2002, she has been a research scholar at WEAI.
Dr. Wishnick specializes in Chinese foreign policy, Sino-Russian relations, and security in Northeast Asia, Central Asia, and the Arctic. She previously taught international relations and Chinese politics at Barnard College, Columbia College, and SIPA.

The virtual "Meet and Greet" is for current international students with disabilities at U.S. colleges and universities! This informal gathering will be for those who want to make new connections, share experiences and encouragement, and learn about new resources!
