What is the difference between how much and how many?
1. How much - used when asking about uncountable nouns.
Uncountable nouns: water, sugar, money, time, air, information, rice, furniture, music, advice.
Examples:
- How much time does it take to go home.
- How much water do you drink every day.
- How much information did you gather.
2. How many - used when asking about countable nouns.
Countable nouns: Cars, apples, people, books, children, cats, dogs, shoes...
Examples:
- How many chairs do we need for the event.
- How many students are in our class.
- How many people are coming to the party.
- How many apples are in the basket.
