Fatherlessness, eh? 🤔

It is true that fatherlessness can lead to a myriad of vices in life. Some fall headlong into their anger & bitterness, scorched earth style. Total destruction.

But Christ makes the difference. Fatherless men, found in Christ, have been given the gift of perspective. That gift gives them a passion to build, a fierce loyalty and sense of duty, and a righteous indignation against that which seeks to snatch the future from those in his care.

Men, by nature, will either build or destroy. Using “fatherlessness” as a scapegoat to bludgeon your dissenters is the act of a soft man, a man that’s been the silver spoon, not the blunt head of the axe.

Reading through the *Declaration* it really feels like it was written for a caricature, a spectre of imagination.

But at the end of the day I also understand the intent, and it certainly isn’t for the “fidelity of the gospel” — at least not the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel of PWC, sure.

What we’re really looking at is a line in the sand. It’s their flag on the hill, their rallying point, an opportunity for them to further distinguish frens (signers) & enemies (non-signers).

Update: We were organizing a peaceful rally on Pelennor Fields to promote our declaration. But that stupid Ranger brought the whole host of Rohan with him! They say our decoration is trash and that Gondor is for Gondorians 😭 they’re bloody singing! They’re happy!!!

I am working on a declaration right now. I part, it denies any Orc influence in Gondor & Rohan. Saruman has agreed to collaborate. Wormtongue said he’ll sign. Sadly, I’m already getting pushback from some tall dude, says he’s a ranger from the North, keeps saying he’s “so back.” Bloody Orcist!

It’s simple really.

I see the “collaborators” as Christian content creators. Sure, they’ve hit some home runs in the past. But they’ve also wiff’d the ball on many occasions. I’m not mad about it.

But in the course of Reformed Christendom events, they’ve set themselves up as online archbishops. This has upset their sense of proportion about where they fit in it all.

Naturally, calling a pseudo-church council to formulate a declaration seemed appropriate; in the absence of ecclesiastical authority, social media influence & reach was the replacement.

Lines have been drawn in the sand to be sure. Thankfully, I’m happy to stand on the side with the forefathers of the faith. It’s not a new invention, it’s a return to the old paths.
