You cannot have a description of Jannah in language that is used in Earth. The only descriptions of Jannah we can have are words that we can understand while living on the earth.

So He'll say, "Trees, and waterfalls, and meat, and beautiful spouses, and beautiful homes."

We are like, "Oh yeah I know homes, yeah, pillows I get pillows, yeah, pillows."

Because you know that. But there's stuff in Jannah that is not meat, and it's not vegetable, and it's not fruit. It is something else.

What does it mean that The Devil Pulls Us Back?

QS. Al-A'raf [7]: 14-17
قَالَ اَنْظِرْنِيْٓ اِلٰى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُوْنَ
He appealed, “Then delay my end until the Day of their resurrection.”
قَالَ اِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنْظَرِيْنَ
Allah said, “You are delayed ˹until the appointed Day˺.”
قَالَ فَبِمَآ اَغْوَيْتَنِيْ لَاَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَاطَكَ الْمُسْتَقِيْمَۙ
He said, “For leaving me to stray I will lie in ambush for them on Your Straight Path.
ثُمَّ لَاٰتِيَنَّهُمْ مِّنْۢ بَيْنِ اَيْدِيْهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ وَعَنْ اَيْمَانِهِمْ وَعَنْ شَمَاۤىِٕلِهِمْۗ وَلَا تَجِدُ اَكْثَرَهُمْ شٰكِرِيْنَ
I will approach them from their front, their back, their right, their left, and then You will find most of them ungrateful.”

It is beyond my imagination, to think of an ocean that is both calm and it's waves crashing at the same time. I can't do it. And he (Zamakhshari) said it is... When I think of that, that I realize, I cannot encompass the rahmah (رَحْمَةٌ) of Allah. How can He be Ar-Rahmaan and Ar-Rahiim at the same time? That is what makes these two words incredible. ~Nouman Ali Khan

Coming from the same root letter, Ar-Rahmaan and Ar-Rahiim don't necessarily mean the same.

In Surah Al-A'raf verse 17, Allah says that the devil will attack human kind from four directions. Front, back, right and left. In this episode, Ustadh Nouman will elaborate what it means when the devil attacks from the front. Let’s learn more to save ourselves from the devil’s attack.

Muslims outside the Arab world, which is the overwhelming majority of Muslims, have been learning how to read the Quran in Arabic for generations and hundreds of millions of them also teach the same to their children every year. I’ve been teaching Quran and Arabic for over two decades. Experience with thousands of students and my own experience as a student tells me that you are only as good as your foundation.

But that’s just it, how are you supposed to get a rock solid foundation on which to build knowledge of this seemingly intimidating ocean of knowledge we call Arabic. I am certain I can help you and I also want you to help me. Can you give me ten continuous nights of committed study from May 13-22? If so, I promise I can get you past the hardest part of Arabic learning to understand the Quran: The Foundation.

This is not a gimmick. I’m not telling you you’ll know arabic in 10 days. I’m telling you you’ll know your foundation and you will actually start enjoying the continued path to break down the language barrier between you and the Quran.

I’m going to teach my Fundamentals of Classical Arabic course at the East Plano Islamic Center in Texas starting May 13. But I will also be broadcasting it live on YouTube for free for any of you who wish to join in. But if you want the study materials, my own notes for each day and follow up help, you’ll have to do the free sign up regardless. Become a part of this effort and let’s work as a team. Once he becomes a prophet, it's not even enough for him to say he’s ‘disassociated’. He has to now say he is ‘disassociation’ itself. ~Nouman Ali Khan

The beauty of the Quran language is not always captured in translations. In this episode, Ustadh Nouman explains the difference between barii’ (بَرِىٓء) dan baraa' (بَرَآء), in simple language that is easy to understand even if you are unfamiliar with Arabic.

QS. Al An'am [6]: 78
فَلَمَّا رَاَ الشَّمْسَ بَازِغَةً قَالَ هٰذَا رَبِّيْ هٰذَآ اَكْبَرُۚ فَلَمَّآ اَفَلَتْ قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اِنِّيْ بَرِيْۤءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُوْنَ
Then when he saw the sun shining, he said, “This must be my Lord—it is the greatest!” But again when it set, he declared, “O my people! I totally reject whatever you associate ˹with Allah in worship˺.

QS. Az-Zukhruf [43]: 26
وَاِذْ قَالَ اِبْرٰهِيْمُ لِاَبِيْهِ وَقَوْمِهٖٓ اِنَّنِيْ بَرَاۤءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْبُدُوْنَۙ
˹Remember, O Prophet˺ when Abraham declared to his father and his people, “I am totally free of whatever ˹gods˺ you worship,
