As you are aware, it is imperative that each intern's evaluation is co-signed by the senior in charge or, at the very least, a fellow. In times where the senior or fellow may not be familiar with the intern, it is crucial that this is noted and taken into account during the evaluation process. We recognize that it is unlikely for some interns to be known while others are not, and we want to ensure that every intern receives a fair assessment.
Regarding the grading , we urge you to approach the evaluation of each intern with meticulous attention to detail. It is essential that fairness and objectivity guide your assessments. Every component of the evaluation must be carefully considered to ensure that the results are valid.

The Dr. Adey Tsegaye Lecture Series in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine has been established to honor the legacy of Dr. Adey Tsegaye, a respected physician, educator, and Medical Director of the Medical ICU at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. She held this position with distinction and led the ICU during our critical care COVID response and beyond. As an Associate Program Director, she inspired countless students, residents, and fellows, and was a sought-after instructor in critical care ultrasonography training worldwide. This annual lectureship not only supports ongoing physician education but also celebrates Dr. Tsegaye's enduring impact on her colleagues, patients, and the field of pulmonary and critical care medicine.
Dr. Neil W. Schluger, Dean of the School of Medicine at New York Medical College, is a leading expert in tuberculosis and global lung health. With a focus on public health, his research addresses TB epidemiology, diagnostics, and treatments, as well as the impact of air quality and global lung disease drivers like tobacco and pollution. Dr. Schluger co-led the CDC’s Tuberculosis Trials Consortium for over two decades and founded the East Africa Training Initiative in Pulmonary Medicine, which established Ethiopia’s first generation of pulmonary specialists. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for Vital Strategies and is active in global
