✅ | After an arduous five-match winless run, Manchester United are back in the winners’ circle with a 2-1 comeback win over Brentford at Old Trafford.

🥊 | It was a second-half display - after trailing at the half-time break - that showcased a resilience and intensity of a squad still gunning for their under-pressure manager. And after a first half that saw United surpass five hours without scoring a league goal, they finally took advantage of two impressive moves.

🇦🇷 | They flew out of the blocks in excellent fashion, with patience before a punishing finish from Alejandro Garnacho on the volley. Marcus Rashford’s inswinging cross from the right flank was delivered with pinpoint precision to find Garnacho, who evaded his marker and fired home on the volley in clinical fashion.

🌟 | Rashford was outstanding again for United - looking comfortable on his less natural right flank. He was an important creative outlet - a much better passer of the ball than often given credit for - and constant headache for defenders. His work ethic off the ball was also highly creditable.

🎯 | Maybe most importantly, Rasmus Hojlund scored his first league goal of the season to put United ahead. A composed, chipped finish capped off a slick and incisive forward move, which came to a crescendo with a delightful Bruno Fernandes flick into Hojlund’s path.

🇩🇰 | Hojlund - a tireless hard-worker - showcased a decisiveness that United have lacked amid their goal-scoring struggles early this season. He has had inevitable rust after being set back by a pre-season injury, which has led to people seeming to forget just how valuable a fit and firing Hojlund - still so young - can be to Erik ten Hag’s side.

💪 | There is a platform to build on after this - something we have said ruefully often but a much-needed positive nonetheless. It was a much more coherent second-half performance from United - both from a defensive and an attacking standpoint. Hopefully this marks a reset after the international break. United had to stop the malaise and they have done successfully. #mufc #manutd
