Opinions are wildly divided in terms of the importance of history, with some claiming it to be useless. However, I believe that studying history not only benefits individuals but also societies on the whole.

Admittedly, students can focus on their core subjects more unless they study history. Many of them try to apply for prestigious universities and land a well-paid job in the future, which requires them to study the subjects related to the field harder rather than history. One more claim stated by people is the loss of the link between history and today. People hold the view that instead of studying collective memory, people should learn more about developments, leading further to the future to keep up with the modern world. For example, studying IT for year, not history, can equip them with the necessary skills to find a better job in the future.

Having said that, the importance of history lies in the strength of communities with productive members. The more informed people are, the more sensible decisions they can make, which shows how people can develop rational thinking because of history. This happens if people learn more about the mistakes made by countries and politicians avoiding further harm to the public. Studying the success of particular societies and the failure of others can lead to pass laws aimed at developing life standards. Regarding the individual advantages of history, self-development is undeniable. As there are enough respected leaders who lived desired lives in the books, today young people can look up to them trying to shape their behaviour accordingly to reach that level of recognition in the community.

In conclusion, although history is often left out for the development of the future, its irrefutable value for people and communities should be recognized

The diagram illustrates the stages involved in recycling cans. There are a total of eleven stages, beginning with the collection of disposed cans and ending with the production of new cans for reuse. The entire process takes six weeks and is primarily machine-driven.

In the initial stage, used beverage cans are collected and transported to designated facilities where they are deposited and thoroughly washed to remove any dirt or impurities. Once cleaned, the cans are crushed in a factory to prepare them for further processing. In the next stage, chemical treatments are applied to erase any paint and lacquer from the metal scraps, ensuring that only clean aluminum chips proceed to the following steps.

After cleaning, the raw aluminum is heated in a furnace to a specific temperature, creating molten aluminum. This liquid metal is then poured into molds to form standardized shapes. Once molded, the aluminum pieces are weighed to ensure they meet the correct weight requirements. In the rolling phase, the cans are labeled appropriately, completing the recycling process and making them ready for reuse.

The pie charts compare four different countries, namely India, the USA Finland, and France , in terms of electricity production in 2020. Overall, while hydropower and nuclear were the two main sources of energy in many countries, fossil fuels were not used to power electricity in France, and neither was nuclear in Finland.

Nuclear energy was mainly used to produce electricity in both India and the USA, 45 % and 50 %,respectively. Hydropower made up half of all source shares for electricity production in Indian, but this source of power constituted more than a third in the USA. By contrast, fossil fuels were the least used method for electricity production in both countries, having 5% and 13 %, respectively.

The scenario is rather different in Finland and France. The former heavily relied on hydropower to produce electricity, comprising 63 % of the allenergy sources, while this power supply formed only 13 % of total used energy sources in France. Interestingly, a staggering 87 % per cent of used energy source for electricity production was nuclear in France, while none was used in Finland in this regard. Among the four countries, Finland was the only country that used the highest proportion of fossil fuels for electricity production, which was 37%.

Caring for children is probably the most important job in any society. Because of this, all mothers and fathers should be required to take a course that prepares them to be good parents.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?

Parenting has always been a crucial part of every society. Equipping parents with the right skills to raise the next generation to be healthy in mind and body is, I believe, of utmost importance in today’s world. Specialized courses on parenting are essential for this purpose.

Children's healthy development requires experienced parents who understand their basic needs. When a young couple has a child, they often lack experience in essential areas like nutrition and care. In parenting courses, new parents are taught foundational skills, such as changing diapers, feeding, and techniques for early child care. With this knowledge, parents can meet their children’s evolving physical and emotional needs more effectively. Without such courses, parents may struggle to handle unfamiliar situations or simply use outdated methods they were taught themselves, which may lead to unsatisfactory or even negative outcomes.

Furthermore, parenting classes can help young parents develop the social and emotional skills needed to nurture their children effectively from an early age. In modern households, it is common to see both parents contributing to their homes financially, which often leads one parent to take on more caregiving responsibilities than the other. In this scenario, parents who have attended parenting classes are better equipped to manage caregiving duties, benefitting from shared experiences with other parents and insights gained in class. Beyond basic caregiving skills, these sessions are designed to provide guidance on the emotional aspects of child development. Due to stress or other burdens, parents might become either too permissive or overly strict, struggling to find a healthy balance. Parenting instructors can help guide parents in managing behavior changes, especially as their children reach adolescence or puberty.

In conclusion, structured parental guidance through specialized courses is essential for developing well-rounded and productive members of society.

The bar charts display the percentage of workers employed in Agriculture, Industry, and Services sectors in four countriesβ€”Germany, the USA, Japan, and Chinaβ€”for the years 1980 and 2010.

Overall, there was a general shift from agriculture to industry and services across all countries, with notable growth in the industry sector for Germany and China, while agriculture saw a decline, especially in China. Employment in services also varied significantly by country.

In 1980, Germany had the highest percentage of workers in industry, with 60%, which was about 10–15% higher than the USA, Japan, and China. By 2010, industry employment further increased in Germany to reach 80%, a level also seen in Japan, where it rose significantly. The USA saw a 20% increase to 70% in industry employment, while China’s rate remained stable at around 20%.

In the services sector, Germany, Japan, and China had similar employment rates of approximately 50% in 1980, with the USA slightly lower at 40%. By 2010, however, services employment had declined by around 10% in Germany, Japan, and the USA, while China experienced a sharper decrease, with employment halving from its initial rate in 1980.

Agriculture accounted for the smallest portion of employment in most countries. In 1980, China had a notably high 70% of its workforce in agriculture, whereas Germany, the USA, and Japan had fewer than 10% in this sector. By 2010, China’s agricultural employment rate dropped significantly to around 50%, while the other countries saw slight declines.

The image compares two tunnels in terms of cost, construction years, and capacity. Overall, the second tunnel, which was built beneath a highway, cost twice as much as the first one due to its enhanced facilities, and the construction time was also significantly longer.

The first tunnel, built underneath a bridge, took twelve years to complete, from 1986 to 1998. Over half a billion dollars was allocated for its construction. In terms of design, this tunnel was constructed under a bridge and covered with sand to prevent water leakage and other potential damage. With a height of approximately 1.5 meters and a length of 2.2 kilometers, the tunnel accommodates two cars in each direction.

The second tunnel was a major project in all respects. Although a substantial $1.1 billion was invested, making it twice as expensive as the previous one, it was completed within four years, from 2002 to 2006, due to advances in technology and construction methods. This tunnel is 2.5 meters in height and stretches 3.6 kilometers in length. Unlike the first tunnel, it was reinforced with stone and clay for added durability, ensuring its long-term use. To improve capacity, the second tunnel allows three cars to travel in each direction simultaneously.

Why do many advertisers like to use sports stars' endorsements?

Many advertisers like to use sports stars' endorsements because athletes have a strong influence on their fans and are seen as role models. Their endorsement builds trust and creates an emotional connection between the product and the consumer. For example, when a famous footballer like Cristiano Ronaldo endorses a sports drink, fans may believe that using the same product will improve their performance. Without sports stars, brands may struggle to stand out and gain the same level of recognition or trust from consumers.

The bar chart compares the number of people employed in five sectorsβ€”sales, accounting, computing, nursing, and farmingβ€”in one region of Australia between 2001 and 2008.

Overall, employment figures fluctuated across all sectors during this period. Sales had the highest number of employees, while farming had the fewest. Notable increases were observed in computing, while the other sectors experienced either modest changes or declines.

In 2001, around 160,000 people were employed in sales, a figure that rose slightly to over 160,000 by 2008. Sales remained the dominant sector, with more than double the employment of any other category in both years.

Accounting employed just over 60,000 workers in 2001, but this number dropped slightly below 60,000 by 2008. Computing and nursing both started with similar figures in 2001, at approximately 58,000 employees each. However, computing saw a significant increase of over 40%, reaching nearly 80,000 workers, while nursing experienced minimal growth over the same period.

Finally, farming had the lowest employment levels, starting at around 23,000 workers in 2001 and decreasing further to just 19,000 by 2008, marking the smallest sector in both years.

In recent years the benefits of watching television for children have been questioned. While proponents claim its educational value for the development of children, I believe screen time can work for the advantages of children unless exceeds limit.
As far as potential positive impacts are considered, with educational contents and entertainment programs, watching TV can contribute overall well-being of children. As children watch cartoons that are centered to teach basic skills- adding, calculating- or foreign languages, children tend to learn in a more effective way. Having watched a number of quality programs that are aimed at to educate, children can have grasp of basic skills that are needed when they start preschool later. For example, the cartoon called β€˜Pomidoro’ explains natural events such as snow and rain in a plain language with engaging experiments. This not only helps children to grow passion for learning, but also serve as a source of entertainment.

Having said that exceeded screen time may take its toll on the development of children’s psychology and growth. By their nature, children are prone to lengthen watching time to such an extent that may harm their health. In fact, significant number of children suffer from childhood obesity and poor eyesight, this, one way or another, is attributed to increased use of electronics such as cell-phones and TV. Unless precautions are taken, this behaviour may lead to the development of chronic diseases in the long term. To make matters worse, children may be exposed to inappropriate content or misinformed if they watch TV for relatively long hours. Certain channels may broadcast programs designed for adults can adversely affect their mental development. Given the popularity of these contents, children may form distorted views of reality.

In conclusion, although educational value and entertainment practices can favor healthy development of children, overwatching TV or adult content may disrupt their behaviour for good.

Part 3 Why is it hard to maintain friendships for some people?
(Answer) Maintaining friendships can be difficult for some people due to various factors, particularly changes in lifestyle or priorities. (Why) As people grow older or take on more responsibilities, like work or family, they may find it challenging to allocate time to nurture friendships. (Example) For instance, if someone has a demanding job, they might not be able to attend social events or keep in regular contact with friends, which can strain the relationship. (Opposite) Without actively maintaining connections, it becomes easy for friendships to fade, as both sides may feel neglected or unimportant in the other’s life.
