To meet strong housing demand and offer more housing options for Singaporeans, more homes are planned to be built in the north region of Singapore, in particular at i) Sembawang North which is bounded by Admiralty Road West, Canberra Road and Sungei Sembawang and ii) a site in Woodlands Neighbourhood 1.

As part of the master planning process, we conduct environmental/ biodiversity baseline studies to better understand the existing condition of sites which are near sensitive biodiversity areas. This is followed by an impact assessment to inform appropriate mitigating measures to guide development of the site as we build homes for Singaporeans.🌱

πŸ“£ We’re introducing a new Family Care Scheme (FCS), to support parents and children to live closer together!

Currently, parents and married children enjoy priority when they buy a new flat to live with/ near each other.

With FCS, priority access to new flats will be provided to all parents and their children – both married and single. πŸ πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§

The FCS will be implemented in two stages:
Mid-2025: FCS (Proximity), which gives parents and their children priority access when applying for a new flat to live with or near each other.

End-2025: FCS (Joint Balloting), which enables parents and their children to jointly apply for two units in the same BTO project, where there are 2-room Flexi or 3-room flats in the project.

From mid-2025, HDB will progressively roll out the Family Care Scheme (FCS) to further strengthen intergenerational family support by promoting proximity living between parents and children.

Under the new scheme, priority access to new flats will be given to all parents and their children, regardless of marital status.

More details will be shared nearer to implementation. In the meantime, home buyers can continue to apply for a flat under the current priority schemes in the Feb 2025 BTO sales exercise.

Sembawang North, Sembawang’s new housing area, will yield close to 10,000 housing units – 8,000 BTO flats and 2,000 private housing units, when fully developed. The first BTO project in the area will be launched in 2025, with the rest to follow progressively.

Among the plans for Sembawang North are a new Neighbourhood Centre, as well as a Community Wharves Link that will make it easy for residents to walk from their homes to surrounding amenities.
