የኢትዮጵያ ህክምና ተማሪዎች ማኀበር (ባሕር ዳር) “በጥይት ተገደሉ” በተባሉት በዶክተር አንዷለም ዳኘ ግድያ የተሰማውን ጥልቅ ሀዘን ገልጾ፤ “ከፍተኛና ልዩ ስጋት አለብን” ሲል ለቲክቫህ ኢትዮጵያ ተናግሯል።

ማኀበሩ ይህን ያለው በኮሌጁ አካላትም ሆነ በኢንተርን ሀኪሞች የግድያና የዘረፋ ሙከራዎች እየተደረጉባቸው መሆናቸውን በመግለጽ ጭምር ነው።

“ ኦፊሻል ስላልወጣ እንጂ ከሦስት ሳምንት በፊት ሥራ ስራ ቦታ ላይ የነበረ አንድ የህክምና ባለሙያ ተገድሏል በሽጉጥ ” ሲልም አስታውሷል።

ማኀበሩ ስለዶክተር አንዷለም ግድያና ስለስጋቱ ምን አሉ?

“ የዶክተር አንዷለም ዳኘ የቀብር ሥነ ስርዓት በድባንቄ መድኃኒዓለም ቤተ ክርስቲያን ተፈጽሟል።

ዶክተር አንዷለም ትሁት ሀኪም ነበር። ስለሞተ ሳይሆን እውነታው ይሄው ስለሆነ ነው ይህን የምንለው። ስለሞተ ለመሞጋገስ አይደለም። ከሰውም ሰው ስለነበር እንጂ።

አሟሟቱም ልብ ሰባሪ ነው። ሙያው ሰብ ስፔሻሊስት ነው። አንቱ በሚባልበትና ህዝብን የሚያገለግልበት እድሜ ላይ ነው ያጣነው። እንደ ህክምና ተማሪዎች የእውቀት አባታችንን፤ ወንድማችንን ነው ያጣነው።

ይህን የመሰለ ሰብ ስፔሻሊቲ ሀኪም ማጣት እንደ ሀገርም እንደ ህዝብም በጣም ያማል። መራር ሀዘን ገጥሞናል።

በነገራችን ላይ ተደጋጋሚ ችግሮች አሉ። የሆስፒታሉ ዳይሬክተር ስልክ ተቀምቶ፣ በሽጉጥ ማንገራገር ገጥሞት ነበር፤ በኢንተርን ሀኪሞችም ሙከራ ይደረጋል።

በዚሁ የተነሳ ሰብ ስፔሻሊስቶች አገር እየለቀቁ፤ እየሸሹ ነው። ይሄ ባለበት ሁኔታ ጥበቃ፣ ከለላ አለመደረጉ በጣም ያሳዝናል። በጣም ከፍተኛና ልዩ ስጋት አለብን። የሆስፒታሉ ኃላፊ፣ ኢንተርን ሀኪሞችም ሙከራ ተደርጎባቸል።

የኮሌጁ ኃላፊዎችም ከአቅማቸው በላይ የሆነባቸው ይመስለናል። ምንም ከለላ የለም። ግቢ ያሉ ጥበቃዎችም የተጠናከረ አይደለም። ውጪ ላይ ይቅርና ግቢ ውስጥ ራሱ ከፍተኛ ስጋት አለ። አቤት የምንልበት አጥተን ነው እንጂ ” ብሏል።

በሁሉም ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች ያሉ ተማሪዎች መጪውን ጊዜ ለማስተካከል እንዲተጉ፣ ስለመብታቸው ዘብ እንዲቆሙ፣ አንድነት በመፍጠር የመፍትሄ አካል እንዲሆኑ ማኀበሩ አሳስቧል።

We need about 10 interested qualitative research transcribers who are fluent in English and basic understanding of obstetrics and Gynecology concepts.

This past weekend, we went on an adventure with Marcus, starting at the largest marketplace in Africa: Merkato. Although some shops were out of service, we enjoyed the remaining open hotspots.

On Sunday, we visited Bata Maryam Church, which is known for its beautiful architecture and historical significance. It is the burial site of Lij Eyasu, Emperor Menelik, Empress Tayitu, and Ethiopia's first registered nurse. While exploring the grounds, we were surprised to see ancient turtles lounging in the sun.

We hope you will continue to make Marcus feel at home! 😊

Day 4: The Role of Community Engagement in Combating GBV

Today, SCORA Ethiopia and SCORP Ethiopia joined forces in an impactful event organized by EngenderHealth at New Era Primary School. The program engaged middle school students in vital discussions about Gender-Based Violence (GBV), fostering awareness and sparking important conversations.

Why is community engagement crucial in the fight against GBV?

Community engagement is essential for sustainable, grassroots change, transforming communities into active problem-solvers instead of passive recipients. It helps break the silence around GBV, challenge harmful norms, and empower individuals—especially young people—to take a stand and create safer spaces.

Awareness is the first step toward meaningful change! Together, we can build a future free from violence—one conversation at a time.

This past weekend, our exchange student Valeriya had the chance to dive into some of Ethiopia's natural beauty and cultural highlights!

On Saturday, she explored the historic Entoto Mountains, soaking in breathtaking views of Addis Ababa and experiencing the cool, serene atmosphere atop the hills. Then on Sunday, Valeriya headed to Bishoftu, where she enjoyed the peaceful lakes, hiking in the scenic landscapes, and warm sunshine.

It was a wonderful weekend filled with new experiences and memories—an incredible way to connect with Ethiopia’s rich nature and vibrant culture!
