Whoever prepares for Ramadan with obedience will be aided in performing acts of worship during it. But whoever precedes Ramadan with various sins and prohibitions places burdens on their heart and soul that hinder them from acts of worship during Ramadan.

Sins Destroy Relationships

Reflect on a past relationship, whether marital or otherwise. What caused its downfall? Was it due to sin?

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“No two people love one another for the sake of Allāh the Almighty or on the basis of Islam and then split apart except due to a sin that one of them commits.”

[Adabul Mufrad (401), graded 'Saheeh' by Sheikh Albani]

From experience, the most common sins that lead to separation include backbiting, gossiping, harbouring evil assumptions, envy, and a lack of goodwill toward one another.
-------------------

Question: If sins ruin relationships, why do some sinners still maintain good relationships despite their sinning?

Answer: Take note that the ḥadīth refers to those who love one another for the sake of Allāh. As for sinners, Ibn al-Qayyim (raḥimahullāh) said:

“The people of sin and immorality, even if there is some form of affection and love between them, inevitably it turns to enmity and hatred, and most often this (outcime) is hastened for them in this world before the Hereafter. As for the Hereafter, then (Allāh has said): 'Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to one another, except for the righteous.' [Al-Zukhruf: 67].” [Ighāthat Al-lahfān (2/155)]

Al-Imam, ash-Sheykh, al-'Allamah, al-Faqih, al-Usuli, al-Mufassir, an-Nahwi, al-'Arif.

Arguably the greatest pupil of Sheikh Ul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullah, for about twenty years until his death, he was also the Shaykh of Ibn Kathir, Ibn Rajab, as-Safadi, Ibn Abdel-Hadi and other great Imams.

He had an excellent way of writing in a structured and systematic manner. He also excelled more than his teacher in the science of the purification of the heart. We recommend a person to take out some time to read his entire turath that is available.

We recommend starting with these four works

Question:
What is our stance concerning the slaughter of Muslims in Palestine and other parts of the world that is happening right now, where houses are being destroyed, farms are being wrecked, children are being killed, the wounded are being detained in the streets, houses are being bombarded and people are being prevented by the Jews and others, from buying the food and drink that they need? What can I, as a Muslim, do?

Answer:
Bismillah
1- You have to make du’aa’ (supplication), and recite du’a’ al-qunoot (special supplication during formal prayers) in your salaah (prayer).

2- Collect charity and send it through trustworthy channels.

3- Support the weak and oppressed in all ways, including the media and the internet.

4- Get scholars, daa’iyahs (Islamic workers), khateebs (orators) and writers to explain the oppression that is happening and the negligence on the part of the ummah (global Muslim community), and to mobilize the ummah to defend the holy places.

5- Check on one’s own intentions with regard to fighting for the sake of Allaah, and see whether he is applying the hadeeth (narration) of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Whoever dies without having fought for the sake of Allaah or having had the intention of doing so, has died following one of the branches of hypocrisy.” (Saheeh Muslim, no. 3533)

6- Pursuing all the means of building up material and moral strength, in preparation for meeting the enemy (in battle).

7- Reminding oneself and others of the virtues of martyrdom for the sake of Allaah and studying the rulings on jihad (battle for the sake of Allah), and not having an attachment to this world.

8- Doing as much damage as possible to the enemies who are in a state of war with us, by boycotting their products, attacking them verbally and in writing to humiliate and annoy them, and to point out their kufr (disbelief) and shirk (polytheism), and their insults to Allaah, His Messenger and the believers, publishing as much as possible in the audio-visual and print media about this serious topic whilst also connecting that to Islamic belief and the words of Allaah and His Messenger,

We ask Allaah the Exalted and All-Powerful to support His religion and cause His word to prevail.

‎Shaykh Fayṣal al-Jāsim regarding the revival of idolatry in the Muslim world

‎The Prophet ﷺ said: “The Hour will not be established until the women of Daws will be shaking their buttocks around the house of Dhī al-Khalaṣah.”

‎In this ḥadīth, it is mentioned that idol worship will return to the Arabian Peninsula—the land of monotheism and the birthplace of the message—at the end of times, and idols will be revered and worshipped.

‎This will not happen overnight, but will come with preparations and events that will pave the way for it.

‎Among these preparations: the glorification of relics, the establishment of ancient idols from museums, and the revival of what is called “cultural heritage.”

‎We are already seeing signs of this trial today, as we witness searches and excavations of ancient idols in the Arabian Peninsula under the pretext of reviving heritage, and installing them in museums.

‎Statues of idols from current pagan nations such as Buddhism and Hinduism have been erected, and temples have been built in the Arabian Peninsula, complete with the idols and gods that are worshipped.

‎Idols and statues of the Pharaohs, symbolizing their multiple gods, have been carved in the Arabian Peninsula, and these statues have been placed in public entertainment areas, mimicking the ancient Egyptian temples and their depictions in the “Egyptian Corner,” which represents Egyptian culture in the public entertainment area.

‎It is clear that directly carving idols is more sinful and carries a harsher ruling than simply erecting the sculptures in the name of reviving heritage.

‎This also includes the building of churches and pagan temples in the Arabian Peninsula.

‎This trial also includes the glorification of the Prophet’s ﷺ relics, such as glorifying the Cave of Ḥirāʾ and turning it into a tourist site, as well as the glorification of other relics, a long list of which could be mentioned.

‎So what is the stance of the proponents of monotheism and the Sunnah, the protectors of the faith, regarding this new phenomenon in the Arabian Peninsula?

‎Isn’t this a great abomination that contradicts the concept of monotheism and blemishes its essence, warranting rejection and clarification?

‎What is the stance of those we may call the proponents of “nationalistic Salafism” on these great abominations?

‎Have they fulfilled their duty of advising, rejecting, and clarifying in the most crucial matters of faith and creed?

‎Or is the overemphasis and exaggeration in warning against the mistakes of groups and parties—because it aligns with the whims of the rulers—more deserving of rejection and attention than these errors related to the foundation of religion and the belief in monotheism in the Arabian Peninsula?

‎This is a great trial that must be confronted with advice, rejection, warning, and clarification.

‎Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān said regarding the duty of the callers to this fitnah: “When this trial happens, you must have a stance in stopping it from spreading among Muslims, and clarify the matter to the rulers regarding this issue. Otherwise, if the scholars remain silent, and the Muslims remain silent, the evildoers will increase their evil and will not stop.”

‎So what is the role of the proponents of nationalistic Salafism today in confronting, fighting, rejecting, and denouncing this new fitnah?
‎If we were to enumerate the abominations related to the foundations of religion and its essential principles, which we have started witnessing emerging, spreading, and being promoted in the Arabian Peninsula, it would take a long time.

‎As for other general abominations that have spread, they are too numerous to count.

‎Where are the callers who have long sung the importance of belief and monotheism, and the necessity of prioritizing it over other matters of religion, and belittling the spread of other sins like singing, dancing, nudity, and mixing, claiming that the monotheism and creed are safe?

“And this is a matter which many contemporaries have made mistakes in, they made the knowledge that the woman seeks the same as the knowledge that the man seeks, and this is wrong, for the woman has certain types of knowledge related to her that take precedence before other types of knowledge. She shares with the man the knowledge needed to establish her religion, then she adds to that things which are specifically for her, and it is what the authors have written about, like Ibn al-Attar from the Shafiyyah and Ibn al-Jawzi fron the Hanabilah, where they wrote a book titled: ‘Rulings pertaining to women,’ and also other types of knowledge which are strongly related to them like raising children, rectifying households and others. These types of knowledge are prioritised for women rather than Mustalah al-Hadith and Usul al-Fiqh and an-Nahw and others. And the Shaykh of our Shuyukh at-Tahir Ibn Ashur slightly alluded in a historic reference in the book: ‘Alays as-Subh Bi Qarib,’ and he mentioned that the education of women was taken care of by building schools which taught women the Quran, writing, yarning and weaving.“

Correction* Abu Bakr r.a intended to/was prepared to kill his son during the battle of Badr. Abdurrahman later accepted Islam and became one of the most prominent mujahideen for Islam.

Correct translation:
"Or their sons, referring to Abu Bakr, who was prepared to kill his son, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, on that day."

The Arabic verb "همّ" (interpreted as "was prepared to" or "intended to") is implied here.

One of the righteous men says:

Death is more easy to me than someone seeing my wife’s face.

Al-Mughni of Ibn Qudamah 7/301

It was narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
"Are you amazed at Sa’d’s sense of honor (ghirah)? I am more protective than him, and Allah is more protective than me."

And it was reported from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said:
"It has reached me that your women jostle with men in the marketplaces. Do you not feel any sense of honor (ghirah)? There is no goodness in a person who does not have a sense of honor."

And Muhammad ibn Ali ibn al-Husayn said:

O keyboard warriors! The loyal mujahideen, the lions of the field, endured countless sacrifices, faced immense hardships, and put forth endless efforts in the path of Allah to reach this stage. Do you even know what they went through for Allah to grant them this victory?

Now, despite having no share in this victory, you sit comfortably in your places without ever disrupting your ease, arrogantly offering advice and criticizing the mujahideen on matters of governance. If you couldn’t be of any help to them, at least remain silent now and spare them from the harm of your tongue.

These brothers of yours have put forth the most valuable thing they possess—their very lives—in the cause of Allah. Have some husnu dhan about them and be patient. Remember, they are not fighting for your approval but for the pleasure of their Lord.

O Allah, relieve our righteous scholars who were imprisoned for Your religion.

O Allah, show us the truth as truth and grant us the ability to follow it, and show us falsehood as falsehood and grant us the ability to avoid it.

Our Lord, do not place us among the wrongdoing people and save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people.

O Allah, rectify our faith, keep us steadfast in obeying You, let us die as Muslims, and join us with the righteous.

O Allah, accept from us what is righteous and rectify for us what is corrupt.

O Allah, honor Islam and the Muslims, and humiliate polytheism and the polytheists. You are the Almighty, the Compeller. There is no power nor strength except with You.

O Allah, benefit us with what You have taught us, teach us what will benefit us, and increase us in knowledge.

So let those fight in the cause of Allāh who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter. And he who fights in the cause of Allāh and is killed or achieves victory - We will bestow upon him a great reward.

And what is [the matter] with you that you fight not in the cause of Allāh and [for] the oppressed among men, women and children who say, "Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper"?

An-Nisa' 4:76

"And (He also forgave) the three who were left behind, until the earth, with all its vastness, seemed constricted to them..."

Ka’b said: When I greeted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, his face was shining with joy, and he said: “Rejoice in the best day you have experienced since your mother gave birth to you!” I asked, “Is this from you, O Messenger of Allah, or from Allah?” He replied: “No, rather it is from Allah.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, whenever he was delighted, his face would light up as if it were a piece of the moon.

Before this

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ announced Allah’s acceptance of our repentance after he had prayed Fajr. People came rushing to give us the glad tidings. They went to my two companions to give them the news, and a man came to me on horseback, while another from the tribe of Aslam came running and climbed to the top of the mountain. The voice of the one calling out (the news) reached me faster than the horse. When the one whose voice I heard arrived, bringing me the good news, I took off my two garments and gave them to him in gratitude for his glad tidings. By Allah, I owned no other garments at the time. So, I borrowed two garments and wore them, then headed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Along the way, groups of people met me, congratulating me on Allah’s acceptance of my repentance, saying: “Congratulations on Allah’s repentance upon you!”

When I entered the mosque, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting there among the people. Talhah ibn Ubaydullah got up and came running toward me until he shook my hand and congratulated me. By Allah, no one from among the Muhajirun stood up to greet me except him. (Ka’b added: He never forgot this kind gesture of Talhah.)

The deen has been made clear! Allah said in the Quran to the Prophet ﷺ:

O Messenger! Convey everything revealed to you from your Lord. If you do not, then you have not delivered His message [Quran 5:67].

And verily the Prophet ﷺ has fulfilled the command and done just that!

Al-‘Irbad ibn Sariyah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “I have left you upon a clear path, its clarity is the same by night or day. No one deviates from it after me but that he will be ruined.”

Ibn al-Arabi al-Maliki, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

"I saw chaste women in Al-Aqsa Mosque who did not leave their place of seclusion until they were martyred there."

[Ahkam al-Qur'an, 3/569]

Imam Qadi Ibn al-Arabi al-Maliki al-Andalusi (d. 543 AH/1148 CE) states in his book Siraaj al-Mureedin: "There were women of notable merit in Jerusalem who gathered around the esteemed scholar from Shiraz—a pious, devout preacher. When the Romans invaded Jerusalem on Friday, twelve nights before the end of Sha'ban in the year 492 AH/1099 CE, these women sought refuge in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and gathered in the Dome of the Chain. When the invaders reached them, the women threw insults and dirt at their faces, but they were met with swords and all were slain. One witness, from the roof of Al-Aqsa Mosque, said that they numbered nearly a thousand women."

A Thousand Women?!
Indeed, a thousand women were stationed in Al-Aqsa, scholars and students, who resisted a brutal, barbaric invasion targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque!

It was reported during that time, there was an organized group of about a thousand women under a scholarly female leadership who became fierce defenders of Al-Aqsa as the Crusaders breached its grounds. They stood firm in their defense until they were all martyred, steadfast and patient.

Shaykh Karim Hilmi Al Hanbali:

> "Muhammad is no more than a messenger; messengers have passed away before him. So if he were to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels? And whoever turns back on his heels will not harm Allah in the least, and Allah will reward the grateful." (Qur'an 3:144)

"No soul can die except by Allah's permission, at a decreed time. And whoever desires the reward of this world, We will give him of it, and whoever desires the reward of the Hereafter, We will give him of it, and We will reward the grateful."

• The Prophet ﷺ is the leader of the Mujahideen of this nation and the leader of its martyrs. This nation should not be weakened or shaken by the death of a fighter in the path of Allah; rather, it should rise to continue the same path with determination, expression, faith, and good opinion of Allah, the Exalted.

• The martyr in the path of Allah has fulfilled his duty, while the living person must occupy himself with his own efforts. Will he turn back on his heels, or will he remain steadfast, patient, and grateful?

• No one dies by the will of another, nor by their power, force, or circumstances; rather, it is by Allah's permission, at a predetermined time. The real question is whether one dies seeking the reward of this world or the Hereafter.

• Allah mentions "the grateful" before "the patient" and repeats it to emphasize that a Mujahid's dedication of himself and his wealth in Allah's cause is part of his gratitude for Allah’s prior blessings of faith, guidance, and steadfastness. All gratitude is due to Allah in every circumstance.

> "And how many a prophet fought, and with him fought many devoted people. But they did not lose heart for what they suffered in the way of Allah, nor did they weaken, nor did they give in. And Allah loves the patient." (Qur'an 3:146)

"And their only words were, 'Our Lord, forgive us our sins and our excesses in our affairs, make our feet firm, and grant us victory over the disbelieving people.' So Allah gave them the reward of this world and the good reward of the Hereafter. And Allah loves the doers of good."

Believers will certainly face challenges in the way of Allah, as promised by Allah and His Messenger. Yet they do not lose heart, weaken, or surrender. Instead, they display what pleases their Lord: patience, acceptance, and resilience. Before victory, they care more that their Lord is pleased with them, that He forgives their sins, and that He makes their feet steadfast.

> "O you who have believed, if you obey those who disbelieve, they will turn you back on your heels, and you will then become losers." (Qur'an 3:149)

The disbelievers and their allies from the hypocrites will exploit every hardship to break the spirits of the believers, weaken their hearts, and make them regretful, showing mockery towards them. Thus, Allah warns His servants about them, their schemes, and the evil within their souls.

> O Allah, destroy the oppressors, vanquish the disbelievers, humiliate the hypocrites, silence those who discourage, destroy those who betray, have mercy on the righteous martyrs, elevate their ranks, compensate Your nation with those like them or better, and grant us guidance, soundness, and steadfastness!

"Servitude to Allah, or as we know it in Arabic: العبودية (al-Ubudiyyah). What actually is this word and what does it entail? How can we actualise servitude? How can we affirm it in our hearts and how do we apply it in our day to day lives? Within this book, the author discusses many topics, questions, and issues that run though the mind of every Muslim. The shaykh speaks about what al-Ubudiyah is, the connection between al-Ubudiyah, our hearts and our actions, how dealing with the trials and tribulations of life have a direct link with our servitude to Allah and many more topics that causes a person to wake up from his heedlessness and turn back to Allah, focusing on the actual reason for why he was created.

When you think about al-Ubudiyyah, we can use practical examples from our lives. Your Iman was higher when you first started practising, despite the level of your knowledge being less, and despite your engagement in worship being minimal due to that lack of knowledge. Why, and how? It is, simply, because you venerated Allah in your heart more than you do now, thus applying the essence of العبودية in your life. The same way that the companions would implement العبودية long before Allah revealed any legislations and rulings, before any prayers or fasts were made obligatory. They venerated and glorified Allah in their hearts, and due to that their hearts were pure, thus allowing their limbs to follow suit. We have made servitude to Allah something connected to the actions of the limbs, completely disregarding the foundations of servitude and what it is dependent on: the heart, and the actions of the heart.

Personally, I read this book in a time where my heart was in dire need of such reflection and rectification and it is one of the best contemporary books I have read on the topic of العبودية. It covered many points and answered questions that you may never asked yourself only because you were unable to articulate what you were suffering from in the first place.

I ask Allah that He rewards the author and places his efforts on his scale of good deeds."

The supplication of Muslims for their oppressed brethren is an affirmation of Islamic brotherhood and a testament to the bond of faith; by recalling their suffering and seeking their victory. Among the comprehensive prayers reported from the Prophet ﷺ is his saying: “O Allah, rescue the oppressed believers.” Include it in your prayers for them and seek the times when it is more likely to be answered.

Shaykh Faisal Jasim:

The leader Yahya Sinwar—may Allah have mercy on him—has ascended to His Lord as a martyr, as we consider him to be, and Allah is his judge. We do not commend anyone in a way that surpasses what is due to Allah, and Allah is the ultimate judge.

We testify that he lived his life as a fighter against the usurping Zionists.

He established military units that inflicted various forms of torment on the enemy, despite having few supporters, many enemies and opponents, the betrayal of friends, and the collusion of the powerful.

By his efforts—may Allah have mercy on him—he revived the spirit of jihad in the Muslims, reminded them of the Muslim cause, the cause of Palestine, and blocked the path for those who were racing towards humiliating normalization. Through his jihadist actions, he exposed the hypocrites and the accursed traitors, uncovered the infiltrators, unmasked the mercenaries, revealed the malice of the Christian West, and exposed the falsehood of their slogans. He showed their hatred and fury towards the Muslims through their cooperation and solidarity, so that Muslims may realize the truth of Allah's words:

"O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya’ (friends, protectors, helpers), they are but Auliya’ of each other. And if any amongst you takes them (as Auliya’), then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers and unjust)." [Quran 5:51]

He was killed—may Allah have mercy on him—advancing, not retreating.

He never raised his weapon against Muslims, never declared them unbelievers, never opposed Muslim states, nor declared enmity against them. He never publicly criticized them, nor did he aid the polytheists and disbelievers against Muslims, or conspire against Muslim nations.

Rather, he confined his efforts and his cause to Palestine. He lived by this and died by this.

No one rejoices in his death except for a disbeliever, a hypocrite, or an ignorant person with weak knowledge and faith.

We ask Allah Almighty to accept him among the martyrs, to replace him with someone better for the Muslims, to unite the ranks of the mujahideen, to strengthen their hands, to guide their strikes, and to turn the plots of the aggressor Zionists against them. May He bring down His wrath on them, which cannot be repelled from the criminal people.
