Regarding the ayah:

"And (He also forgave) the three who were left behind, until the earth, with all its vastness, seemed constricted to them..."

Ka’b said: When I greeted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, his face was shining with joy, and he said: “Rejoice in the best day you have experienced since your mother gave birth to you!” I asked, “Is this from you, O Messenger of Allah, or from Allah?” He replied: “No, rather it is from Allah.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, whenever he was delighted, his face would light up as if it were a piece of the moon.

Before this

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ announced Allah’s acceptance of our repentance after he had prayed Fajr. People came rushing to give us the glad tidings. They went to my two companions to give them the news, and a man came to me on horseback, while another from the tribe of Aslam came running and climbed to the top of the mountain. The voice of the one calling out (the news) reached me faster than the horse. When the one whose voice I heard arrived, bringing me the good news, I took off my two garments and gave them to him in gratitude for his glad tidings. By Allah, I owned no other garments at the time. So, I borrowed two garments and wore them, then headed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Along the way, groups of people met me, congratulating me on Allah’s acceptance of my repentance, saying: “Congratulations on Allah’s repentance upon you!”

When I entered the mosque, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting there among the people. Talhah ibn Ubaydullah got up and came running toward me until he shook my hand and congratulated me. By Allah, no one from among the Muhajirun stood up to greet me except him. (Ka’b added: He never forgot this kind gesture of Talhah.)

The punishment of Allah does not come down on to states because of corruption existing in it, because corruption exists in every ummah, rather punishment comes down because of the lack of musliheen [people who correct others and make them righteous], and the punishment comes down faster if these musliheen are fought against [ie. the ummah pushes back against them]

The deen has been made clear! Allah said in the Quran to the Prophet ﷺ:

۞ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ مَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ ۖ وَإِن لَّمْ تَفْعَلْ فَمَا بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالَتَهُۥ ۚ
O Messenger! Convey everything revealed to you from your Lord. If you do not, then you have not delivered His message [Quran 5:67].

And verily the Prophet ﷺ has fulfilled the command and done just that!

Al-‘Irbad ibn Sariyah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “I have left you upon a clear path, its clarity is the same by night or day. No one deviates from it after me but that he will be ruined.”

Ibn al-Arabi al-Maliki, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

"I saw chaste women in Al-Aqsa Mosque who did not leave their place of seclusion until they were martyred there."

[Ahkam al-Qur'an, 3/569]

Imam Qadi Ibn al-Arabi al-Maliki al-Andalusi (d. 543 AH/1148 CE) states in his book Siraaj al-Mureedin: "There were women of notable merit in Jerusalem who gathered around the esteemed scholar from Shiraz—a pious, devout preacher. When the Romans invaded Jerusalem on Friday, twelve nights before the end of Sha'ban in the year 492 AH/1099 CE, these women sought refuge in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and gathered in the Dome of the Chain. When the invaders reached them, the women threw insults and dirt at their faces, but they were met with swords and all were slain. One witness, from the roof of Al-Aqsa Mosque, said that they numbered nearly a thousand women."

A Thousand Women?!
Indeed, a thousand women were stationed in Al-Aqsa, scholars and students, who resisted a brutal, barbaric invasion targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque!

It was reported during that time, there was an organized group of about a thousand women under a scholarly female leadership who became fierce defenders of Al-Aqsa as the Crusaders breached its grounds. They stood firm in their defense until they were all martyred, steadfast and patient.

Shaykh Karim Hilmi Al Hanbali:

> "Muhammad is no more than a messenger; messengers have passed away before him. So if he were to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels? And whoever turns back on his heels will not harm Allah in the least, and Allah will reward the grateful." (Qur'an 3:144)

"No soul can die except by Allah's permission, at a decreed time. And whoever desires the reward of this world, We will give him of it, and whoever desires the reward of the Hereafter, We will give him of it, and We will reward the grateful."

• The Prophet ﷺ is the leader of the Mujahideen of this nation and the leader of its martyrs. This nation should not be weakened or shaken by the death of a fighter in the path of Allah; rather, it should rise to continue the same path with determination, expression, faith, and good opinion of Allah, the Exalted.

• The martyr in the path of Allah has fulfilled his duty, while the living person must occupy himself with his own efforts. Will he turn back on his heels, or will he remain steadfast, patient, and grateful?

• No one dies by the will of another, nor by their power, force, or circumstances; rather, it is by Allah's permission, at a predetermined time. The real question is whether one dies seeking the reward of this world or the Hereafter.

• Allah mentions "the grateful" before "the patient" and repeats it to emphasize that a Mujahid's dedication of himself and his wealth in Allah's cause is part of his gratitude for Allah’s prior blessings of faith, guidance, and steadfastness. All gratitude is due to Allah in every circumstance.

> "And how many a prophet fought, and with him fought many devoted people. But they did not lose heart for what they suffered in the way of Allah, nor did they weaken, nor did they give in. And Allah loves the patient." (Qur'an 3:146)

"And their only words were, 'Our Lord, forgive us our sins and our excesses in our affairs, make our feet firm, and grant us victory over the disbelieving people.' So Allah gave them the reward of this world and the good reward of the Hereafter. And Allah loves the doers of good."

Believers will certainly face challenges in the way of Allah, as promised by Allah and His Messenger. Yet they do not lose heart, weaken, or surrender. Instead, they display what pleases their Lord: patience, acceptance, and resilience. Before victory, they care more that their Lord is pleased with them, that He forgives their sins, and that He makes their feet steadfast.

> "O you who have believed, if you obey those who disbelieve, they will turn you back on your heels, and you will then become losers." (Qur'an 3:149)

The disbelievers and their allies from the hypocrites will exploit every hardship to break the spirits of the believers, weaken their hearts, and make them regretful, showing mockery towards them. Thus, Allah warns His servants about them, their schemes, and the evil within their souls.

> O Allah, destroy the oppressors, vanquish the disbelievers, humiliate the hypocrites, silence those who discourage, destroy those who betray, have mercy on the righteous martyrs, elevate their ranks, compensate Your nation with those like them or better, and grant us guidance, soundness, and steadfastness!

"Servitude to Allah, or as we know it in Arabic: العبودية (al-Ubudiyyah). What actually is this word and what does it entail? How can we actualise servitude? How can we affirm it in our hearts and how do we apply it in our day to day lives? Within this book, the author discusses many topics, questions, and issues that run though the mind of every Muslim. The shaykh speaks about what al-Ubudiyah is, the connection between al-Ubudiyah, our hearts and our actions, how dealing with the trials and tribulations of life have a direct link with our servitude to Allah and many more topics that causes a person to wake up from his heedlessness and turn back to Allah, focusing on the actual reason for why he was created.

When you think about al-Ubudiyyah, we can use practical examples from our lives. Your Iman was higher when you first started practising, despite the level of your knowledge being less, and despite your engagement in worship being minimal due to that lack of knowledge. Why, and how? It is, simply, because you venerated Allah in your heart more than you do now, thus applying the essence of العبودية in your life. The same way that the companions would implement العبودية long before Allah revealed any legislations and rulings, before any prayers or fasts were made obligatory. They venerated and glorified Allah in their hearts, and due to that their hearts were pure, thus allowing their limbs to follow suit. We have made servitude to Allah something connected to the actions of the limbs, completely disregarding the foundations of servitude and what it is dependent on: the heart, and the actions of the heart.

Personally, I read this book in a time where my heart was in dire need of such reflection and rectification and it is one of the best contemporary books I have read on the topic of العبودية. It covered many points and answered questions that you may never asked yourself only because you were unable to articulate what you were suffering from in the first place.

I ask Allah that He rewards the author and places his efforts on his scale of good deeds."

The supplication of Muslims for their oppressed brethren is an affirmation of Islamic brotherhood and a testament to the bond of faith; by recalling their suffering and seeking their victory. Among the comprehensive prayers reported from the Prophet ﷺ is his saying: “O Allah, rescue the oppressed believers.” Include it in your prayers for them and seek the times when it is more likely to be answered.

Shaykh Faisal Jasim:

The leader Yahya Sinwar—may Allah have mercy on him—has ascended to His Lord as a martyr, as we consider him to be, and Allah is his judge. We do not commend anyone in a way that surpasses what is due to Allah, and Allah is the ultimate judge.

We testify that he lived his life as a fighter against the usurping Zionists.

He established military units that inflicted various forms of torment on the enemy, despite having few supporters, many enemies and opponents, the betrayal of friends, and the collusion of the powerful.

By his efforts—may Allah have mercy on him—he revived the spirit of jihad in the Muslims, reminded them of the Muslim cause, the cause of Palestine, and blocked the path for those who were racing towards humiliating normalization. Through his jihadist actions, he exposed the hypocrites and the accursed traitors, uncovered the infiltrators, unmasked the mercenaries, revealed the malice of the Christian West, and exposed the falsehood of their slogans. He showed their hatred and fury towards the Muslims through their cooperation and solidarity, so that Muslims may realize the truth of Allah's words:

"O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya’ (friends, protectors, helpers), they are but Auliya’ of each other. And if any amongst you takes them (as Auliya’), then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers and unjust)." [Quran 5:51]

He was killed—may Allah have mercy on him—advancing, not retreating.

He never raised his weapon against Muslims, never declared them unbelievers, never opposed Muslim states, nor declared enmity against them. He never publicly criticized them, nor did he aid the polytheists and disbelievers against Muslims, or conspire against Muslim nations.

Rather, he confined his efforts and his cause to Palestine. He lived by this and died by this.

No one rejoices in his death except for a disbeliever, a hypocrite, or an ignorant person with weak knowledge and faith.

We ask Allah Almighty to accept him among the martyrs, to replace him with someone better for the Muslims, to unite the ranks of the mujahideen, to strengthen their hands, to guide their strikes, and to turn the plots of the aggressor Zionists against them. May He bring down His wrath on them, which cannot be repelled from the criminal people.

Killing is not a defeat of truth.

Rather, it may be the first door of its manifestation.

For this reason, prophets are killed and truth is not killed.

"The Imam of the Holy Mosque, Sheikh Maher Al-Muaiqly, led the prayer in Malaysia, and out of his understanding, he recited the Basmala aloud in consideration of the Shafi'i school of thought practiced in the country.

Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, said: 'If the Imam believes something to be recommended, but the congregation does not, it is better for him to refrain from it for the sake of unity and harmony.'
