OPEN CALL for applications: Visiting Fellows program in Vienna

The Dialogue Office for Civil Society Cooperation in Vienna welcomes applications for a visiting fellowship for a period of one month between July and December 2024.This program offers you an opportunity to spend one month in Vienna, working on your own project in a comfortable atmosphere, as well as being acquainted with Austrian initiatives.
We welcome anyone engaged in anti-war and decolonial activism, gender rights, who is currently working on their project and capable of organizing an event. The project can take any form, from a scientific article or translation, to a theatrical performance or art object.
The Dialogue office for Civil Society Cooperation is an Austrian non-profit organization promoting democracy and human rights, sustainable development, non-discrimination, as well as integration and peace across Europe. Through thematic events, partnerships with other civil society organizations and initiatives, publications, and public discussions, we provide a space for exchange and community building of civic organizations and engaged like-minded people. The Dialogue office stands for innovative formats, science-based political education and networked approaches.
What we offer:
• The duration of the fellowship is one month;
• Fellows will receive a stipend (2500 euro) to cover travel costs, accommodation, living expenses, health insurance, and any incidentals related to their stay in Vienna;
• The Dialogue Office for Civil Society Cooperation provides the fellows with office space in the center of Vienna.
What we expect:
• You are an activist, researcher, artist, cultural practitioner, or journalist who holds Belarussian, Ukrainian, Russian or Polish citizenship (residency not required);
• You work on projects that offer a decolonial perspective on history, politics, society, and ecology, and/or study authoritarian systems, resistance, and issues of gender equality;
• You as a Visiting Fellow spend the duration of your fellowship in Vienna, Austria;
• You will organize a small event (workshop, reading, lecture, or other forms) at the Dialogue Office for Civil Society Cooperation office during your stay in Vienna;
• Please tell us if you have a Schengen Visa or will need assistance getting it.
Your application should include a cover letter (explaining why you wish to receive the fellowship in Vienna, what event you are willing to organize in our office), a description and a work plan of your project in Vienna (with links if available), your curriculum vitae, and contact information (e-mail, Signal, link to your social media profiles).
