Democrats in the Virginia Legislature have passed HB1699, which will unfairly yank the tax exempt status from several of Virginia’s honorable historical societies, including the United Daughters of the Confederacy. The bill is on its way to the governor's desk. He vetoed similar legislation last year. CONTACT Governor Youngkin TODAY and ask him to once again reject this vicious, partisan attack by democrats on our history, heritage, and first amendment rights, and VETO this bill!

"We must nerve our hearts for the trial with a firm reliance on God. We must plant our feet firmly upon the platform of our unextinguishable hatred to the Northern Confederacy with determination to die rather than submit. What a mockery would such liberty be with submission. I, for one, though I stood alone in the Confederacy, without countenance or aid, would uphold the banner of Southern Independence as long as I had a hand left to grasp the staff, and then die before submitting." -- Jeb Stuart, who was born February 6, 1833

Confederate 2nd Lieutenant Edward Alston Thorne Nicholson

37th North Carolina Infantry Regiment, Company E

Gave his life for Southern Independence on March 25, 1865 in a desperate charge on Fort Stedman in Petersburg, Virginia.

8 days later, his brother, Captain William Thorne Nicholson, of the same company, was also killed in the breakthrough of the fort. William had an approved leave in his pocket, but would not leave his men on the eve of battle.

They gave their last full measure in the last few weeks of the war. Patriots of the Cause of Independence.

135 years ago, E. Benjamin Andrews, then President of Brown University, himself a veteran of the Yankee army, said: "The question of greatness is a relative thing and we in America will probably always differ as to the rank of our prominent men. But if any American father were asked which of our great men he would most want his own son to resemble, that father, if he were wise, would be compelled to answer, "Robert E. Lee"."

Nothing can be added to that statement. Education can propose no finer service than to offer the character of Lee as the pattern upon which youth may shape its hope. #LeeJacksonDay2025

Since the City Council of Lexington, Virginia voted to ban ALL flags (except the US, State and non-existent City flag) from flying on city light pole flag stands, rather than allow the flags of Lee and Jackson to fly for several days leading up to the Virginia State Lee-Jackson Holiday, AND voted to change the name of Stonewall Jackson Cemetery, the Virginia Flaggers have called for a FULL BOYCOTT of Lexington, Virginia. When we gather in huge numbers for the upcoming holiday and events, we ask that all participants make their arrangements for lodging, eating, and entertainment OUTSIDE of the town limits. This map provides an outline of the town boundaries. Please join us in making sure that the town that has turned its back on Lee and Jackson and its rich Confederate heritage, does not profit from what could have been a windfall of revenue to the struggling town. Honor Lee and Jackson...BOYCOTT LEXINGTON!

β€œAmongst those that are born of woman there beats not a bolder heart than that of Jefferson Davis. We are not ashamed to confess to a large amount of hero-worship for the man for when his Northern foes can find no better name than rebel and slave-owner. Never unduly elated by success, never dismayed by adversity, his voice rings out clear as a trumpet-call on the darkest day that befalls his country. Not Cato himself spoke to his little Senate at Utica with more dignity and steadfastness than does the Southern President when addressing his suffering fellow-countrymen.”

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM THE VIRGINIA FLAGGERS!

As we look back on 2024, we thank God for His faithfulness in directing our efforts. We give him the glory for each victory won, each new monument and flag erected, and for the hedge of protection he has placed around those who forward the colors.

While it may seem, at times, that evil has the upper hand, we know we serve a mighty God who WILL vindicate…and that we represent men of honor and duty whose deeds and valor will be remembered with reverence long after those who desecrate their graves and memorials are gone and forgotten, as long as WE do our duty to protect their memory and defend their honor.

May you and your families be blessed with God’s richest blessings, health, peace, and prosperity in the coming year!

All glory to God. All honor to the Confederate soldier. It’s not about us.

Richmond, 1907 - Unveiling the Jeb Stuart & Jefferson Davis Monuments on Monument Avenue

'And 'twill live in song and story, Though its folds are in the dust.'

One of the most pleasing as well as spectacular features of the great re-union of C.S.A. Veterans, which was held in Richmond in May-June 1907 for the purpose of participating in the exercises incident to the unveiling of the Jeb Stuart & Jefferson Davis Monuments, was the arrangement and costuming of 600 school children in the form and colors of a Confederate battle flag. The children occupied a stand within the Lee Monument enclosure, aroused the greatest enthusiasm by their singing of 'Dixie' and other Southern airs.

Shoutout to our Guradians of the Flag, who changed out the rope and flag today at our I-64 Kershaw’s Brigade Roadside Memorial Battle Flag at Savages Station! Keeping an eye on the ropes, and replacing them at the first sign of wear is crucial to prevent costly repairs down the road. Without our volunteer guardians of the flags, and financial support from folks like you, we could not keep up the 30+ roadside memorial battle flag sites across the Commonwealth, and continue to build new ones. God bless you all and GOD SAVE THE SOUTH!

β€œJust here I have an indescribable peace. All is peace within. I want you to know that between me...and the face of my Heavenly Father, not a cloud intervenes. I have put my trust in my Lord and Saviour.

Call my wife.”

Last words of Gen Nathan Bedford Forrest, who died on this day, October 29, 1877

"They were authorities on the genealogies of everyone who was anyone in Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia and did not bother their heads about the other states, because they believed no on who was anybody ever came from states other than these three."

"But while we accept our defeat with the consequences that legitimately follow it, it is our right to justify our cause, to vindicate our motives, to honor our dead. This is not only a right, but is a sacred duty. We owe it to ourselves, to our children, to those who died in the effort to keep us free, that we should cling with unshaken fidelity to these principles which we believe to be true."

Memorial address of General Wade Hampton at Warrenton, Va, June 12, 1873.

On this day, The Virginia Flaggers pause to honor Christopher Columbus, and remember the day he arrived in the new world, bringing Christianity to the Americas.

It's no surprise that the same people who want to erase our Confederate history, are also attacking this part of American history. BOTH are rooted in Christianity, something that stands squarely in the way of their godless agenda.

Lest we forget!

Lee described his faithful horse in a letter in response to Mrs. Lee's cousin, Markie Williams, who wished to paint a portrait of Traveller:

β€œIf I was an artist like you, I would draw a true picture of Traveller; representing his fine proportions, muscular figure, deep chest, short back, strong haunches, flat legs, small head, broad forehead, delicate ears, quick eye, small feet, and black mane and tail. Such a picture would inspire a poet, whose genius could then depict his worth, and describe his endurance of toil, hunger, thirst, heat and cold; and the dangers and suffering through which he has passed. He could dilate upon his sagacity and affection, and his invariable response to every wish of his rider. He might even imagine his thoughts through the long night-marches and days of the battle through which he has passed. But I am no artist Markie, and can therefore only say he is a Confederate gray.”

We used to post this photo every year in the fall, commenting how much we love RVA in the fall. We post this year with sadness. There is nothing left in Richmond for us other than the burial sites of our Confederate dead, which
we will continue to visit, tend to, and attend and hold ceremonies to remember them.

Democrats have turned our once beautiful city into a garbage heap. May God have mercy on their souls.

The disposition of the city is in His hands now.

He will vindicate.
