- Result is usually an unintentional rhyme or funny combination
- Happens often with words that start with the same consonant
Here are some examples to illustrate these speech errors.
Slip of the tongue:
- Saying “candlelight” instead of “nightlight”
- Saying “Minnesota” instead of “Montana”
- Saying “appointment” instead of “opportunity”
Spoonerism:
