The 11 a.m. service will be lived-streamed on our YouTube channel, St. Andrews Anglican Church Moscow. The order of service can be found here for those joining us online. We appreciate that those of you in Russia may experience difficulties logging onto YouTube; we are currently exploring alternative streaming options.

There will be Sunday School for children aged 6-12 and a play area in the Chapter Room for infants and toddlers, if they need to take a break from the service.

Everyone is invited to stay for refreshments after the service.

MASLENITSA/PANCAKE SUNDAY
Next Sunday (2nd March) to mark the approach of Lent, we will be having a pancake party after the 11 a.m. service. If you can help by making pancakes or bringing toppings, please see Sara Harris. We will also be having a Biblical-themed quiz, so come and test your knowledge!

PUB QUIZ
Thank you to everyone who came and supported last Monday’s pub quiz. We raised just over RR31,000 for Mary’s Meals. This money will help children in Southern Africa – which is experiencing its worst drought in 100 years - to get a nourishing school meal and remain in full-time education.

CONFIRMATION
If you are interested in being confirmed, or learning more about what confirmation involves, please see Fr. Arun. He will be starting a preparation course after Easter and we hope to have a bishop visit us for the confirmation service later in the year.

SIMPLE SOUP LUNCHES
During Lent (from 9th March onwards) we will be holding our Simple Soup lunches every week, in order to raise funds for charitable causes. We have a loyal team, who regularly make soup and provide bread and cheese, but if you would like to join in and help spread the load, please see Liz.

MORNING PRAYER
is said daily, Monday to Friday at 8:30am in the chapel. It is also live streamed on our YouTube channel, St. Andrews Anglican Church Moscow. You can find the text and audio version of Morning Prayer on the 'Daily Prayer' app by Aimer Media, or the Church of England's website.

Any donations – however large or small – will help ensure that the children have a safe supply of clean drinking water and a better learning environment. Unfortunately, we cannot accept card payments for our charity collections, so please make sure you bring cash with you on Sunday.

Today marks the start of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. If you would like to join Christians throughout the world in prayer for reconciliation and greater understanding, please visit the Church of England’s website or download the Everyday Faith app for themed prayer and reflection.

Heavenly Father,
you have called us in the Body of your Son Jesus Christ
to continue his work of reconciliation
and reveal you to the world:
forgive us the sins which tear us apart;
give us the courage to overcome our fears
and to seek that unity which is your gift and your will;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

Many thanks to all of you who stayed behind after the service today and contributed to Sara S’s Christmas Santa project. The aim this year is to raise sufficient funds to buy Christmas gifts for over 1,000 children, who are sorely in need of some extra love and attention. These include children undergoing cancer treatment or in hospice care, children in the Speransky Hospital burns unit, children in orphanages for the disabled, children and young people with severe learning disabilities and children in refuges, whose mothers have fled domestic abuse.

If you would like to donate, please see Sara after the main service on Sunday or e-mail [email protected].

If you cannot help financially, but would like to contribute by wrapping gifts, please join us for an hour or so after each 11 a.m. Sunday service over the upcoming weeks.

HARVEST-ADVENT APPEAL

Every year, between Harvest Thanksgiving and Advent Sunday, we come together to collect food and other items for those in need. This year all donations will be going to the Lighthouse Fund (Дом с Маяком), which supports refugees from Ukraine, Nagorno-Karabakh and the Kursk, Belgorod, Bryansk and Lipetsk regions of Russia. Many of these families have had to leave everything behind and need your help to rebuild their lives. If you can contribute any of the following, please bring your donations on any Sunday between 13th October and 1st December.

• bed linen, blankets, duvets, pillows;
• towels, curtains;
• kitchen utensils, pans;
• clothes (especially large sizes);
• winter hats, gloves, scarves, socks, underwear, winter jackets, warm shoes;
• repair tools, umbrellas;
• baby formula;
• non-perishable food (dried and tinned goods);
• personal care products (soap, shampoo);
• pet food.

If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, please see Rev’d Sharon or Pat.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING…
It seems hard to believe, but the countdown to Christmas is now on. Every year, Sara S. arranges a special Christmas Santa project to purchase and deliver gifts to children in hospitals, hospices, orphanages and refuges. All money raised from the Simple Soup lunch next week will be donated to swell funds for this excellent cause. If you would like to help, either by making a donation or by volunteering time to wrap and deliver gifts, please see Sara.

Do you like baking? If so, we are planning to make lots of mince pies for the Christmas Bazaar on 7th December. We have the mincemeat; we just need people to make pastry and bake the pies. If you have space in your freezer, you can start now! If you are able to help, please see Nicolette.
