• sensation of anterior 2/3 of tongue : trigeminal nerve(5).

• sensation + taste of posterior 1/3 of tongue : glossopharyngeal nerve(9).

• taste of anterior 2/3 of tongue : facial nerve(7).

• all motor nuclei have bilateral supply except motor nuclei of hypoglossal nerve(12) and lower half of nucleus of facial nerve(7) have unilateral supply from opposite side.
