પ્ર.1. વૈશ્વિક પર્યાવરણના પ્રશ્નો ૨૧મી સદીના આરંભે અને અંતે.

પ્રશ્ન.2.નીચે આપેલ ગધખંડનો, મૂળ વિચાર જળવાઈ રહે એ રીતે લગભગ ૧/૩ ભાગમાં સંક્ષેપ કરો.

આત્મતત્વને અંતિમ સત્તા તરીકે સ્વીકારતો સિદ્ધાંત. અંતિમ તત્વના સ્વરૂપ અને સંખ્યાના સિદ્ધાંતોની મીમાંસા કરનારી તત્વજ્ઞાનની શાખાને તત્વમીમાંસા કહે છે. ભૌતિકવાદ એ તત્વમીમાંસાનો એક સિદ્ધાંત છે, જે અનુસાર કેવળ માનવશરીર જ નહિ, પણ માનવમન કે આત્મા સહિતના તમામ પદાર્થો અંતિમ સ્વરૂપે ભૌતિક છે, અર્થાત્ આ સમગ્ર વિશ્વ ભૌતિક તત્વના વિકારરૂપ છે. અધ્યાત્મવાદ એ ભૌતિકવાદનો વિરોધી સિદ્ધાંત છે. અધ્યાત્મવાદ આત્મતત્વને અંતિમ સત્તા તરીકે સ્વીકારે છે. આત્મા કોઈ ભૌતિક દ્રવ્યના વિકારનું પરિણામ નથી એમ બધા અધ્યાત્મવાદીઓ સ્વીકારે છે. પણ આત્માની સંખ્યા અંગે અધ્યાત્મવાદીઓમાં મતૈક્ય નથી. જે અધ્યાત્મવાદીઓ એક અને અદ્વિતીય એવા નિર્ગુણ અને સર્વથી નિરપેક્ષ એવા એક, અને માત્ર એક જ, આત્માનો અંતિમ તત્વ તરીકે સ્વીકાર કરે છે તેમનો સિદ્ધાંત નિર્ગુણ બ્રહ્મવાદ કે નિરપેક્ષ તત્વવાદ તરીકે ઓળખાય છે. ભારતીય તત્વજ્ઞાનની પરંપરામાં શંકરાચાર્યે નિર્ગુણ બ્રહ્મવાદનું અને પાશ્ચાત્ય પરંપરામાં હેગલ અને બ્રૅડલી જેવા વિચારવાદી ચિંતકોએ નિરપેક્ષ તત્વવાદનું પ્રતિપાદન કરેલું છે. નિરપેક્ષ તત્વવાદને મોટેભાગે અમૂર્ત એકતત્વવાદ કે કેવલાદ્વૈત તરીકે ઘટાવવામાં આવે છે, જોકે તેને સર્વેશ્વરવાદ કે શુદ્ધાદ્વૈત તરીકે પણ ઘટાવી શકાય તેમ છે. પાશ્ચાત્ય તત્વચિંતકોમાં સ્પિનોઝા સર્વેશ્વરવાદના પ્રતિપાદક તરીકે અને ભારતીય પરંપરામાં સુવિખ્યાત છે.
