This month in my Christmas themed speaking classes, the first session will be on "two truths and a tradition!" - My own version of "Two truths and a lie"

For example, do you think this is a real or fake English Christmas tradition?:
We like to put a poisonous plant on our ceilings, especially at parties. Not to kill each other (Although it would kill you if you ate it!) but, if two people stand underneath this poisonous plant, the tradition is that they should kiss!
If the person rejects the kiss, they will get bad luck! Now what do you think? Is this tradition true or false?
