Today, Novena Church joyfully celebrates its 7th anniversary since its blessing in October 25th 2017 with the completion of a beautiful extension, honoring its rich history and vibrant, multicultural faith community.

As Novena Church marks its 7th anniversary, it joyfully looks forward to a promising future for its Marian community. The upcoming first-ever priestly ordination in the new sanctuary and the 75th anniversary celebration, both set for the jubilee year of 2025, highlight its mission to serve the poor and most abandoned. These milestones honor the rich Redemptorist tradition and reaffirm the church’s commitment to nurturing faith, unity, and compassion for β€œseven to seventy-seven more years.”

In view of the feast day of St Gerard Majella on 16th October, the Redemptorist Heritage Centre (RHC) is hosting an exhibit dedicated to St. Gerard Majella, the patron saint of pregnant women, mothers and all children. The exhibit will take place from October 12 to October 20, in front of the Redemptorist Heritage Center, near the statue of St. Alphonsus. Entry is free and all are most welcome!

From life as a human rights advocate in the advent of a martial law in the Philippines to being imprisoned three times, Brother Karl Gaspar shares his journey to becoming a Redemptorist brother. "If you have two years in prison, it does make you think very deeply where you would like to bring your life after you get released," he said. "I was haunted by my desire to become a religious." He chose to not pursue priesthood, saying he wasn't drawn to the sacramental liturgical ministry. He sought to be a religious brother knowing that there's a notion that brothers are seen as second class. "I never had that insecurity," he said. Now, he's trying to redefine that image -- he was the dean of St Alphonsus Theological and Mission Institute. At the same time, he faces the reality that recruiting others to follow his footsteps won't be easy today.
