🌟Why are neonates a high risk group for infections?🌟
Neonates, especially those in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs), are uniquely vulnerable to healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) due to:
✔️ Immature Immune Systems: Their immune defenses are not fully developed, leaving them less able to fight infections.
✔️ Invasive Procedures: Devices like central lines, catheters, and ventilators, often essential in NICUs, increase exposure to potential pathogens.
✔️ Prolonged Hospital Stays: Extended time in healthcare settings increases their exposure to multidrug-resistant organisms.
✔️ Skin Barrier Immaturity: Their delicate skin is not as effective in preventing pathogen entry compared to older children and adults.
Understanding these risks is crucial for designing targeted infection prevention strategies to protect these vulnerable patients.

🔹ما هي مضادات الميكروبات؟💊
هي أدوية تستخدم لعلاج العدوى التي تصيب الإنسان أو الحيوان أو النبات والوقاية منها، مثل المضادات الحيوية (مضادات البكتيريا) ومضادات الفيروسات والفطريات والطفيليات.
🔹أما المضادات الحيوية:
فهي أدوية تستخدم لعلاج (العدوى البكتيرية) فقط🧫
🔹مقاومة مضادات الميكروبات:
تحدث عندما تغير الميكروبات المسببة للعدوى استجابتها للمضادات مما يجعلها غير فعّالة.
🔹 ما هي الأسباب الرئيسية لمقاومة الميكروبات للمضادات؟🧐
• سوء استخدام مضادات الميكروبات.
• عدم الالتزام بممارسات مكافحة العدوى في المنشآت الصحية.
• قلّة التوعية والتثقيف للمجتمع والمختصين في الرعاية الصحية.
🔴 مخاطر مقاومة الميكروبات للمضادات:
• عدم فعالية مضادات الميكروبات الحالية وطول فترة التعافي.
• ارتفاع تكاليف العلاج والفحوصات.
• زيادة وتيرة التردد على المستشفيات والمكوث بها لفترات طويلة.
• صعوبة علاج بعض الأمراض المعدية أو إجراء العمليات الجراحية.

لـ الممارسين الصحيين👩🏻⚕️👨🏻⚕️:
• الالتزام بإجراءات مكافحة العدوى.

• وصف مضاد الميكروبات عند الحاجة لذلك بالجرعة والمدة المناسبة.
