Announcement: Notice for Newly Assigned Freshman (First-Year) and Remedial Students

Jigjiga University, one of Ethiopia's Applied Science universities, cordially informs and warmly welcomes, all newly assigned freshman (1st-year) and Remedial students to report in person from November 13-15, 2024.

Required Documents and Items

Please bring the following items with you:

Educational Documents: Original and photocopies of certificates from grades 8 through 12.

Photographs: Eight recent passport-sized photos.

Personal Essentials: Blankets, bed sheets, and sports dress.

Important Notice: Students who come before or after the designated registration dates will not receive any services from the University.

Dr. Abdifatah also shared his personal experience of applying for and winning the Chevening Scholarship, offering valuable advice and motivation to the attendees.

This afternoon, Jigjiga University hosted a successful information session focused on Chevening Scholarships, aimed at raising awareness and encouraging youth from the Somali region to apply for this prestigious opportunity. The event drew significant interest, with attendees eager to learn about the scholarships' potential to transform their academic and professional futures.

Key attendees included Mr. Louis De Dumast, Chevening Scholarships Lead at the British Embassy, Addis Ababa - UK in Ethiopia, Ms. Widasse Teklemichael, Chevening Officer, Abdirahman Ahmed, Director of CCMD at Jigjiga University, and Dr. Abdifatah Mohammed, a Medical Doctor at JJU's Sheik Hassen Yabare Referral Hospital and last year’s Top Chevening Award Winner.
