Topic: Coins🪙

Band 8+ answers
💯

1. Do you often carry or take coins with you?

Yes, I do. Actually, there are always coins in my wallet. I receive them as a change and over time, they are gathered. Sometimes, I use them if I buy sth costs little.

2. Have you ever collected coins?

Yeah. If I am not mistaken, at the age of 4 or 5, I’d collect coins on a jar. My parents gave me coins on a daily basis, and I tried to fill this jar up with coins. I liked this activity as I liked the jiggling sound of the coins.

3. Is it convenient to use coins?

Not that much. As they are small, it takes time to select their appropriate ones to pay for sth. Also, they are difficult to count and because digital payment is becoming common day by day, they are not accepted everywhere.

4. Will people use coins in the future?

I don’t think so. They will probably be the thing of the past. Nowadays, even cash is used rarely due to the availability of credit cards and money-transferring apps. With this kind of development, it’s difficult to imagine coins being used in the future.

#short_story

In a town where everyone rushed through life, there was a woman named Clara who owned an antique shop filled with clocks of every shape and size. But none of the clocks were for sale. Instead, when people visited, Clara would ask, “How much time do you need?”

Some wanted time to mend a broken friendship, others to finish a dream project they’d abandoned. Clara would take each clock, wind it carefully, and say, “This is your borrowed time. Use it well.”

People would leave the shop, and somehow, they’d find the time they needed—an old friend reaching out, a quiet weekend to themselves, a fresh spark of inspiration.

Over the years, the town changed. People moved slower, laughed more, and took the time to truly live. And though no one knew if Clara’s clocks were truly magic, they all agreed that something in that little shop had changed their lives forever.

Band 8+ answers 💯

Topic: Roads and Streets 🛣

1. Are the roads in the area where you live busy?

No, they are not. I live in the outskirts of the city and my neighborhood is new. There are a few roads, but they are not that busy.

2. How do people cross the road in the city where you live?

They do it with the help of either pedestrian crossings = zebra crossings or underground tunnels. There are always marked with special signs, so people can cross roads easily and safely. However, some people don’t pay attention to them and they try to cross the roads wherever they like.

3. How is the condition of the roads in your country?

Well, it depends on the areas. In urban areas, they can be considered satisfactory. But, when it comes to the country, they are in a bad condition. The roads are full of potholes. Some areas even do not have asphalts, and when it rains, they become muddy creating a lot of inconvenience for residents.

4. Do you think the roads in your country need improvement?

I’m sure yes. First of all, the roads in countryside badly need improvement. As I said, walking on them or driving a car, using those roads is a nightmare. Some roads in cities are not exception, unfortunately. When there is driving rain, potholes form immediately and it creates a lot of difficulties for drivers.

✔️Speaking part 1: band 8+ answers 💯

Topic: Good view 🏞️

1. What can you see from the windows where you live?

I live in a house, so when I look out of the window, the trees in our yard draw my attention. Also, there are some green plants on the ground. As I don’t stay in a flat, I only see some parts of my house.

2. Is there a good scenery in cities?

It depends on what city we’re talking about. Cities in Europe, for example, have a good scenery, as they have plenty of green areas, such as parks and gardens. However, the ones in developing countries don’t usually have that view because there are some construction works going on.

3. Is there a good scenery in your hometown?

There is! My hometown is located in a mountainous area. If you go outside, you see the ranges of mountains, surrounding my hometown.

4. Do you like to take pictures of good scenery?

Generally, I do. This is because, later I can see those photos on my phone's gallery, and remember the moment. But, I don't always shot the good scenery, instead, I prefer enjoying the atmosphere.

5. When you travel, do you like to live in hotels with scenic views?

For sure, yes. When I travel I need to make sure each part of my trip is perfect, including the hotel I'm going to stay at. If I had a chance, I'd book a room in a hotel overlooking either a beach or a forest because they simply boost my mood.
