We had an inspiring closing ceremony for the 2023/24 project in Gambella, attended by HE. Ariest, deputy director of ENG, high level regional government officials, youth representatives, and key stakeholders.

A highlight of the day was visiting our target youth businesses in the city. It was incredible to see how these young entrepreneurs are not only building sustainable businesses but already generating high profit—something fascinating.

As we look ahead to 2025, we are excited to embark on a new project in collaboration with DCA.

Ethiopia Internet Governance Forum 2024 and Youth IGF 2024 were celebrated yesterday at the Hilton Hotel.

We were honored to have our Deputy Director invited to moderate the Youth IGF 2024 panel discussion titled "Empowering Youth Voices for a Digital Ethiopia."Distinguished guests, including the Minister of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, Dr. Belete Molla, ITU Regional Director Mr. Emmanuel manasseh IGF Ethiopia President Mr. Teshome worku chair of Ethiopia IGF and various invited stakeholders, private companies, and other notable attendees, graced the event with their presence.

Invited speakers from various countries also attended and delivered insightful speeches. The forum explored how youth voices can be empowered to engage more fully and effectively in the digital realm.

ENG is honored to be invited as one of the selected CSOs for the interview and excellent discussion for the research on technology facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) conducted by Center for Information resilience (CIR), a UK based organization.

As part of celebrating the 16 Days of Activism, this crucial session delved into how the research could be translated into actionable implementation, advocacy to policymakers, and awareness-raising for society.

Speaking of the research, ENG was one of the CSO’s selected by CIR for the roundtable discussions on the research TFGBV and conducted an advocacy bazaar on the best practices.

Eng is honored  to be invited as the sole civil society organization representing Ethiopia at the Africa Youth Online Safety Summit, held yesterday at the Sheraton Addis and hosted by Meta.

Our Deputy director HE.Ariest Abiy and Head of Job creation and career dev't program Mr. Misgana manchlot attended the confernce.

The summit saw participation from various organizations across Africa, alongside high-ranking officials from Meta and CEOs of various organizations.Child and youth online safety is a critical issue, especially considering that many teenagers spend a significant amount of time on their phones and social media.

Alarmingly, research indicates that 10 percent of children aged 10 and below have accessed pornographic sites globally, which is deeply concerning.collaboration among stakeholders is essential to address these challenges effectively.

" The state of Transitional Justice,Where Are We At? " conference held yesterday featuring a host of distinguished guests, ambassadors, representatives from the Ministry of Justice,CSO's and other key entities.

Our Deputy Director, who is also part of the Steering Committee of the Transitional Justice Consortium Ethiopia, expertly moderated the event. The conference provided various updates on the state of transitional justice from the Ministry of Justice, the Somali TRC, Civil society organizations, and the Human Rights Commission.

In-depth discussions took place among participants and experts, covering a range of issues including sequencing and emphasized the importance of the active participation of youths and young women in transitional justice, highlighting this as a crucial step towards meaningful progress.
