SAMAYA/commitments of the empowerments.
Receiving these empowerments doesn't require a daily practice (although everyone interested may practice the related sadhana or mantra). As it is said in the prayers for receiving a Sakya empowerment, there are commitments related to confessing all the negative deeds, rejoicing in the virtuous deeds of all beings, cultivating bodhicitta, taking (renewing) and keeping Refuge vows and bodhisattva vows. It is recommended to keep a vegetarian diet during the day when the empowerments given on January 11, 12 and 16. The Vajrapani Bhutadamara empowerment requires taking 14 root Vajrayana vows. Explanation of the 14 vows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRRDBj3JhuM&t=420s . Duration of each empowerment in January is around one hour and a half.
