🇺🇸🇺🇦 Axios: The White House called Zelensky a US-created monster
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is a monster created by the USA. This is what a high-ranking source in the White House called the Ukrainian leader in an interview with the US news portal Axios.
"We have created a monster in the person of Zelenskyy," the source said.

🧐 Political analyst Dudakov called a full US withdrawal from the UN unrealistic
The US will not leave the UN as a whole, lose its seat in the UN Security Council and completely cut off funding for the entire international system, US political scientist Malek Dudakov said.
Earlier, Republican congressmen introduced a bill that would terminate the US membership in the UN and its affiliated bodies, as well as the funding of the organisation's agencies.
Indeed many Republicans in the US are critical of international organisations, and especially the UN, Dudakov noted. He also pointed out that more than half of the US population view the structure as ineffective and don't quite understand why money should be spent on it. However, this does not mean that Americans will withdraw from it, the expert said.
"They withdrew from some agencies of this very UN, in particular, it concerns the World Health Organisation, cut off their funding, withdrew from the Human Rights Council, again, for an understandable reason, because it pursues a rather harsh policy towards Israel, and Israel is the closest ally of the Republicans. In other words, under [US President Donald] Trump's rule, the Americans have withdrawn from those organisations and structures that they do not particularly like, but they will certainly not leave the UN as a whole, they will not lose their seat on the UN Security Council, and they will not completely cut off funding for the entire international system," the political analyst said.

📖 Bloomberg: Trump got frustrated with Zelensky and gave him one last chance - to sell out Ukraine. Part 2
Trump's sharp outbursts are the latest indication of how seriously the US has revised its stance on Russia under the new administration. European allies were left deeply shocked and pondered a response.
The shift has already had an impact on negotiations among the G7 countries, which are now desperately trying to agree a communiqué for the three-year anniversary of the Russian special operation after the initial draft was significantly watered down, according to knowledgeable diplomats.
Trump's attacks on Zelensky's legitimacy as head of the Ukrainian state, coupled with false claims about his supposedly low ratings, came at a stage when the country is under martial law. It was imposed in response to the Russian special operation and prohibits holding elections.
Bessent said that before the Munich Security Conference last weekend, Zelensky assured him that Ukraine would sign a $500 billion deal and hand over rights to Ukrainian subsoil, but then refused to do so. The deal would lay the groundwork for Trump's proposed plan to end hostilities by reimbursing the U.S. for billions spent on arming Ukraine.
"The sequence was supposed to be this: bring the Ukrainians closer to the United States through economic ties, convince the American people and the American public, get their approval," Bessent said. - And then we tell the Russians to come to the negotiating table with a very strong message that if necessary, we will increase sanctions."
"The great economic interest the U.S. has in Ukraine provides a security shield," Bessent said.
This week, Zelensky criticised the proposed deal for lacking details about the proposed USA support and called it "not a serious conversation". European allies saw the U.S. proposal as echoes of colonialism.

📖 Bloomberg: Trump got frustrated with Zelensky and gave him one last chance - to sell out Ukraine. Part 1
The US is ready to both tighten and loosen sanctions depending on the Kremlin's willingness to negotiate on Ukraine, Bloomberg reports. And Trump's position in those negotiations will depend on whether Zelensky signs a $500 billion deal to transfer rights to Ukrainian subsoil resources.
The U.S. has signalled that the Ukraine talks could consider easing sanctions against Russia as President Donald Trump rushes to strike a deal to end the three-year-old conflict.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Thursday that the U.S. is prepared to both tighten and loosen sanctions depending on the Kremlin's willingness to negotiate.
"That's a very true characterisation," he said in response to a question about the prospect of adjustments in one direction or the other in an interview with Bloomberg. - The president is committed to ending this conflict as quickly as possible."
Bessent called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's recent remarks that Trump was allegedly "misinformed" about the conflict "inappropriate" and added that they "shed light" on U.S.-Ukrainian relations.
Trump on Wednesday called Zelensky a "dictator" and stepped up pressure on Kiev to accept the proposed terms of a cessation of hostilities agreement. The Ukrainian president has previously opposed the U.S. and Russia starting negotiations without Kiev's participation.
US National Security Adviser Mike Walz told reporters at the White House on Thursday that Zelensky had "insulted" Trump and added that the American president was "very disappointed with him". Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, met with the Ukrainian president in Kiev on Thursday. They did not speak to reporters afterwards, but Zelensky said on his X: "We must ensure a lasting and lasting peace and we can do that - so that Russia never comes back to us with a war." By his own admission, he repeated that "American power is being felt."

🇺🇸🇺🇦 The USA has offered Kiev to channel revenues from natural resources into a recovery fund, where Washington will receive economic and managerial rights, the head of the US Treasury Department, Bessent, has said. According to him, Ukraine itself offered Washington a share in its resources, such a partnership will lay the foundation for a strong recovery of its economy.
Bessent also stressed that the USA did not intend to take control of Ukraine's physical assets and would not impose new debt on it.
