There's a pretty wild situation unfolding in the Netherlands.
A solidarity event organized by Christian communities in the Netherlands to stand against antisemitism was scheduled to take place on Thursday evening at Dam Square in Amsterdam. Although it had already been approved by the police and other authorities, the mayor of Amsterdam canceled it at the last minute after calling the organizers for a meeting.
This all began with a viral Instagram post by singer Yair Levi, which sparked a wave of responses. Many organizations decided to join forces to create this inspiring event, which was intended to bring people together in prayer and solidarity.
At the same time, a large pro-Palestinian event scheduled for Saturday has not been canceled.
The canceled event was meant to show that there are voices in the Netherlands opposing recent events and wishing to express their support for the Jewish community.
