We’ve received a message that our Syrian brothers and sisters in the tents in northern Jordan are in URGENT need of heating aid.

It’s extremely cold there right now, and with temperatures expected to drop even further next month, their situation is becoming more dire.

We can’t just sit by and do nothing knowing that they need our help. 😭

We were in Jordan and Palestine last month, in December, and the cold was already unbearable.

We were also there around this time last year and waAllahi, we saw firsthand the harsh living conditions they face.

Extreme weather, especially winter, is one of their biggest challenges, particularly since they are living in tents.

This year, not everyone in our humanitarian group in Singapore will be able to travel there but that does not mean we cannot send whatever help we can from here.

So, bismillah. We’re reaching out to all of you to help our brothers and sisters in Jordan and Palestine.

Let’s share our rizq with them and help make their lives a little easier and better.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, ““Whoever relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever helps ease one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this world and the Hereafter.” [Sahih Muslim: 2699]

By helping them, we are ultimately helping ourselves. Giving a portion of the rizq that Allah has blessed us with will, inshaAllah, open up even more doors of goodness for us.

This Surah brings hope to the brokenhearted, strength to the weak and reassures us of Allah’s immense love and care for those who trust in His plans. It reminds us that Allah’s answers to our prayers are always perfect and His wisdom far surpasses our understanding. ❤️‍🩹

Alhamdulillah, we are stepping into the door of a new Hijriyyah year tonight.

And just like that, another year of our lives had passed.

Ask ourselves.

If I am destined to die this coming year, then how can I prepare myself for a good ending so that I don’t regret in the hereafter?

Do I carry on with my bad habits this year or do I put a stop to it and start the new year afresh?

How about my prayers? Have I been skipping them? Or procrastinating and praying at the eleventh hour?

Have I gotten closer to the Quran? Have I understood it more?

Have I been the best to my family or was I too distracted by other things?

Have I been controlling my emotions well? Have I been responding with maturity or am I still letting my emotions get the best of me?

Time flies fast and before we know it, this year will pass by in the blink of an eye.

Let’s make the most of this coming year. If it’s really our last year on Earth, then at least we have tried our best in the final lap of our lives.

To all my muslim brothers and sisters, I pray that year will be a more fruitful year for both our dunya and akhirah. Ameen. ❤️

The kids were reading Quran. Each one was reading a different surah.

‘Ammar was reading Surah Yaasin from his room and I got especially emotional with his recitation.

This surah recited by this voice might be the last thing I hear in this dunya before my soul leaves my body.

My reminder to them, “Kids, when Ummi or Aba is on the deathbed, read for us Surah Yaasin at our ears.”

Surah Yaasin is such a powerful surah. Even when one doesn’t understand it, just reading or listening to it can soften the hardest heart.

I remembered a lady who was in pain for hours during her sakaratul maut (the moments before death). She couldn’t verbalise what she was going through to anyone.

When I saw her in that state, I started to read Surah Yaasin in front of her and suddenly she just calmed down and close her eyes. It was like Surah Yaasin was what she needed at that very moment. She remained calm all the way until she breathed her last a few hours later.

Surah Yaasin is so, so powerful, masyaAllah. I wonder what kind of solace she must have experienced when she heard that surah.

One day too, I pray that I get to experience that kind of solace from this surah too on my deathbed. You too, insyaAllah.

So let’s revisit this surah and be reminded of the powerful lessons in it.

We are ending the Islamic year in a few days time and what better way can we prepare ourselves than to be reminded of the final surah that we will close our chapter of life in this dunya with. ❤️

The du’as of the Prophets in the Quran teach us some profound lessons in life especially when life is extremely hard.

Many of us recite and memorise these du’as not realising that each and every word of the du’as has a valuable life lesson for us to reflect upon.

The du’as are not just for us to memorise and recite. They teach us the mindset of the people who made the du’as and it is this mindset that makes the du’as extremely impactful.

So if we make the du’a but we lose sight of the mindset and attitude that we should have, then we have not truly understand the essence of the du’a. How then can the du’as be meaningful to us?

Because making du’a is not just asking Allah for what we need and what we want. Making du’a is an ibadah. It is a powerful tool that strengthens us internally. It transforms our mindset and attitude. That is why the Prophet said that the du’a is the weapon of the believer. A weapon can only be meaningful and beneficial when one understands how to use it.
