Edgelord humor is no longer particularly funny, frequently self-indulgent, and rarely well-executed. It is very difficult to translate it into real life without coming across as a freak or a weirdo. And if you get doxed it does make a difference and will be used against you.
I always tell younger guys going into politics— let me be the radical. I’m doing my job, you need to do yours. I’m already the outcast, we don’t need to make any more martyred wanna-be e-celebrities.

The season of Advent
Beloved, now is the acceptable time spoken of by the Spirit, the day of salvation, peace and reconciliation: the great season of Advent. This is the time eagerly awaited by the patriarchs and prophets, the time that holy Simeon rejoiced at last to see. This is the season that the Church has always celebrated with special solemnity. We too should always observe it with faith and love, offering praise and thanksgiving to the Father for the mercy and love he has shown us in this mystery. In his infinite love for us, though we were sinners, he sent his only Son to free us from the tyranny of Satan, to summon us to heaven, to welcome us into its innermost recesses, to show us truth itself, to train us in right conduct, to plant within us the seeds of virtue, to enrich us with the treasures of his grace, and to make us children of God and heirs of eternal life.
Each year, as the Church recalls this mystery, she urges us to renew the memory of the great love God has shown us. This holy season teaches us that Christ’s coming was not only for the benefit of his contemporaries; his power has still to be communicated to us all. We shall share his power, if, through holy faith and the sacraments, we willingly accept the grace Christ earned for us, and live by that grace and in obedience to Christ.
The Church asks us to understand that Christ, who came once in the flesh, is prepared to come again. When we remove all obstacles to his presence he will come, at any hour and moment, to dwell spiritually in our hearts, bringing with him the riches of his grace.
In her concern for our salvation, our loving mother the Church uses this holy season to teach us through hymns, canticles and other forms of expression, of voice or ritual, used by the Holy Spirit. She shows us how grateful we should be for so great a blessing, and how to gain its benefit: our hearts should be as much prepared for the coming of Christ as if he were still to come into this world. The same lesson is given us for our imitation by the words and example of the holy men of the Old Testament

Is swearing a sin?
The way we communicate reflects identity and values. Language is not only a tool for communication, but also a testimony of our character and attitude towards others. In the Bible we find many references to speech and its effect on others. St James writes: "If anyone does not sin in speech, he is a perfect man" (James 3:2). Further verses speak of the tongue as a small member of the body that can cause much harm.
Swearing, especially towards other people, can hurt and destroy relationships. Words have power and can be a source of pain, sorrow and conflict. The use of swearing towards others can be considered a lack of respect and love and also a lack of self-control and maturity of character. The Church recognises that each person is created in the image and likeness of God, which obliges us to treat each other with dignity and respect. Using abusive language towards others is incompatible with this principle. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states: "Everyone should guard against abusive language towards his neighbour" (2477).
Is swearing a sin? The answer to this question depends on context and intention. Using uncensored words in a way that hurts others or diminishes their dignity is a sin because it goes against the Christian command to love one's neighbour. However, the mere use of uncensored words without the intention of offending someone, while it may be inappropriate, is not by definition a grave sin. It is important that we are aware of the impact of our words on others and strive to communicate in a respectful and loving manner. Swearing against God, on the other hand, is a grave sin.
Why is the vulgarisation of language contrary not only to culture but also to Christian ethics?
Christian ethics is based on natural law, of which the Decalogue is the classic, albeit culturally bound, expression. The Ten Commandments do not exhaust the entire ethics of the Old Testament religion, but are only an abbreviated codex under whose concrete indications (precepts and prohibitions) the entire, broad moral subject matter is to be understood. This means that not every element of the ethics is a matter of revealed religion and has to be explicitly mentioned in the Decalogue. e.g. from the absence of a reference to homosexuality one cannot assume arbitrariness in these matters.
There is no doubt that the culture of the European countries and peoples was shaped mainly by Christianity. This also applies to the culture of language and communication in general, also through various fields of art. It is known that pagan beliefs and habits lasted longest in the lowest social strata. This also applies to the culture of language, or lack thereof. The everyday language of the educated strata, which are the bearers of civilisation, was (should have been) closest to the language of literature, both religious and secular, to the word both written and spoken (sermons, speeches, public addresses). It was only with proletarianism, first in the 19th century (naturalist-positivist) and then communist, that vulgarisms were introduced into the field of culture at large. M. Luther, whose speeches and even sermons are full of vulgarity, could be considered a bad example.
Ultimately, these are sins against the love of God, since they are detrimental to the dignity of man created in the image and likeness of God, which means being equipped with spiritual faculties and a spiritual vocation that treats the lower spheres with due respect according to their dignity. Cultural expressions for these matters are precisely an expression of such respect and reasonable self-control.

Please pray for me. I was terminated from my theology teaching position without reason earlier this month (I suspect it is because I spoke out against the provocative dancing) and I haven’t found another job. I have a 6 mo. Old boy and I am starting to really panic because I moved my family across the country for this job.

🇻🇦🤝 ✝️ — Pope Francis met this Saturday with Mar Awa III, Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East, on the 30th anniversary of a key theological document.
The Pope announced he has included St. Isaac of Nineveh, a 7th-century Assyrian Bishop, in the official Roman Martyrology.
He encouraged all Assyrian Christians of the East to continue walking with Catholics toward full unity.
"May the friendship between our Churches flourish until the blessed day when we can celebrate together at the same altar and receive communion in the Body and Blood of the Savior, 'so that the world may believe'."

I cried today at the beauty and majesty of the Catholic Church. We went to a trad, mostly Latin mass to pray for my deceased grandma & grandpa. It was an incredible experience.
