The Italian freemasonic lodge publicly celebrated this evil in 2013. Grand Master Raffi: "With Pope Francis, nothing will be more as it was before. It is a clear choice of fraternity for a Church of dialogue, which is not contaminated by the logic and temptations of temporal power." (So, please stop flexing against Biden as a freemason if you're not gonna stand up against him being one, too.)

Padre Peregrino

I think the "Joe Biden is becoming a freemason" story is fake news. Why? Because I think he was probably a freemason 40 years ago. Something is fishy in this story.

Regarding those pardoned by Trump yesterday, I have been arrested with some of them inside abortion centers for peaceful pro-life activity. Keep in mind that not everyone pardoned by Trump was currently in prison. My friend, Fr. Fidelis, is one such example. (We were texting just a few days ago before the pardons, in fact.) Why then did so many tweets say Fr. Fidelis just got out of prison yesterday? The fact is that while Twitter is so much better than mainstream media for having little censorship, the misinformation in excitement from many conservatives wanting likes (before verifying information) is going to be the new and upcoming hazard for anyone who wants the truth more than paid engagement on X. As I said about all the fake news on the Altadena miracle (another good friend in real life) slow down and please choose who you're going to trust. We Christians must be more hungry for the truth than desperate for an easy win.

There are about one billion Catholics and one billion non-Catholic Christians on the planet. Why did so many divert from the true Church at, say, the Reformation? I think it's the same four reasons as to why so many modern "Catholics" today adhere to error and bad liturgy after Vatican II:
1) They're deceived by demons and bad hierarchy.
2) They believe new ideas are actually old in Christianity (antiqarianism.)
3) They want to "fit-in" because it's easier.
4) They don't think they have time to study Church history because ultimately they don't think anyone (especially not oneself) is in any real danger of hell.

I just talked to a married friend on the phone from Los Angeles who lives near this Church. Many of the homes around him burned down, but his home had the purple scapular and they doused it in holy water (and that family lives a very holy life.) Miraculously, their home is fine. Pray for all the others (and them too.)

It takes more than gun safety to be a gun expert. But if you don't have pristine safety skills, there's no way to convince me you're adept at shooting. So many men think sloppiness demonstrates bravado and acuity, but they're just unimpressive and dangerous.

From Fr. V on X:

"An old English name for the feast of the Holy Innocents is Childermas. It is a Catholic custom for parents to formally bless their children on this feast.

Parents can simply sign a cross on the child's forehead with the right thumb dipped in holy water and say: May Almighty God bless you, and may He be the Guardian of your heart and mindβ€”the Father, + Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

The words of blessing as found in the Roman Ritual are as follows:

O Lord, Jesus Christ, Who didst embrace and lay thy hands upon the little children when they came to thee, and didst say to them: "Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs, and their angels always see the face of my Father," β€” look with a Father's eye upon the innocence of these children (and their parents' devotion), and bless them this day (through our ministry). By thy grace and goodness let them make progress in desiring thee, loving thee, fearing thee, obeying thy commandments β€” thus coming to their destined home, through thee, Saviour of the world, Who with the Father and the Holy Spirit livest and reignest, God, forever and ever. Amen."

This is such a mysterious and awesome line from the old Roman Breviary's Christmas Matins about Mary that I just read in Latin and English: "Prius concΓperet mente, quam cΓ³rpore."β€”Pope St. Leo the Great... It means "Mary conceived of Christ in her mind BEFORE she conceived of Him in her womb." But the inverse is true also, that God the Son conceived of Mary mentally eternally "before" her Immaculate Conception. It will take me a long time to plumb the depths of Pope St. Leo the Great's words here tonight. Merry Christmas to you all!

Rest in Peace, Msgr. Philip J. Reilly. This unsung hero of the pro-life movement has gone to his eternal reward. Founder of β€œHelper of God’s Precious Infants,” Msgr. saved tens of thousands of babies in his compassionate method of sidewalk counseling for decades in Brooklyn. His evangelization spread throughout the world. In NYC, he taught the Sisters of Life and the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal (and me) all of his ways, mostly interior. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.

"What if some novel contagion seek to infect not merely an insignificant portion of the Church, but the whole? Then it will be [the faithful's] care to cleave to antiquity, which at this day cannot possibly be seduced by any fraud of novelty."β€”St. Vincent of Lerins, Commonitory #7.
***
Here's my explanation of the above quote. It's a Catholic principle for lay people that works through every century, from the Arian crisis to even happier days in the Church: If there's an *apparent* contradiction between the faith and the hierarchy, you give the benefit of the doubt to the hierarchy. But if there's an *obvious* contradiction between the faith and the hierarchy, you give the benefit of the doubt to the faith. (That is, you maintain common-sense in following the ancient faith and liturgy.)

I find it suspicious Kamala mentioned a β€œpeaceful transfer of power” in her concession speech. I predict the Democrats escalate one of their many wars (probably against Russia) then "sleepy Joe Biden" falls asleep, um, permanently. Vice President Harris becomes President. She enacts emergency orders before Jan 2025 that allow her to keep executive power. Civil War ensues, but only if Trump voters actually seek an end to the tyranny.... Of course, hoping I'm wrong on all this.

Padre Peregrino

07 Nov, 21:54

Catholicism is very simple. It is easy to avoid heresy. That’s why I expect perfection from our Church leaders in theology. A Democratic Republic is more complex to navigate. Getting elected in 2024 unfortunately requires compromise on public policy. I wish that weren’t the case. But that is why I cut more slack to our imperfect but pro-life governmental leaders than our imperfect but pro-life Church leaders (who never seem to want to shake their small heresies of modernism.) Of course, we are not called to judge souls in either group. But we are called to judge their public teachings, and that is my yardstick for both.

If everyone is saved, then a celibate Catholic priesthood is unnecessary. Why? Because in that case, the only goal of the Catholic life would be biological reproduction, as found in families. Why? Because if everyone is saved, then spiritual reproduction for the celibate is totally impossible. And THAT is why I believe most Catholic priests who believe in universalism are homosexual: For them, there's no sacrifice for the salvation of souls, just an easy life in a boys' club where you never had to explain to your mother why you never had a girlfriend. No harm, no foul, they think, as long as you don't harm children... because everyone is saved anyway without preaching Christ crucified or the sacraments (or, so they think.)

Padre Peregrino

01 Nov, 17:27

Growing up a modernist, we all were practical Universalists. That means, we really didn’t think anyone went to hell. (This is totally false, of course.) But because of that, most of us saw All Saints (1 Nov) as the happy day and All Souls (2 Nov) as the sad day. But St. Alphonsus Liguori (who teaches most Catholics go to hellβ€”not to mention all those of false religions) also says basically that we on earth have a lot to admire for the Faithful Departed in Purgatory: They *cannot* lose the kingdom of heaven, but we on earth *can* lose it. Thus, even though I’m obviously not saying to refrain from praying for the faithful departed for all of November (we absolutely should pray this month and all months for our loved ones deceased without canonizing them) we should definitely realize that All Saints and All Souls are BOTH groups of the saved. That is the glory of these two days. I’m not saying they’re equal (for one has the Beatific Vision and the other doesn’t) but both groups are proven to already be the elect. We on earth are merely striving for that, so we should admire both these groups (All Saints and All Souls) with all our hearts, while still praying TO the former and FOR the latter.

Nobody has any common sense anymore. In the last week I've had to call 911 on two car accidents. As an ex paramedic, I'm used to dealing with emergency dispatchers, but they were from 20 years ago. Nowadays they were so dull that after I gave full assessments on the phone, BOTH dispatchers asked me questions I had already answered. To both dispatchers I had to say "I already answered that." This is also the effect of a legalistic culture that puts law and technology over common sense and medicine.

Β· Merkelbach (traditional moral theologian) – When given a choice between two candidates who aren’t perfect, it is licit to elect the better candidate to prevent a more unworthy candidate from coming into power if there is no hope that a perfect candidate will be elected. β€œVoters who, through grave fault by abstaining from voting do not stop an evil decision, election, or law from coming to pass, if they are bound by a specific duty to stop a foreseen harm which follows, are cooperators in evil.” (Summa Theologiae Moralis, Tomus Secundus, Tractatus De Virtute Cardinali Justitiae, Tertia Pars, Sectio A, De Justitia Commutativa, n. 316)

Sr. Lucy of Fatima said Our Lord told her: "The sacrifice required of every person is the fulfillment of his duties in life and the observance of my Law. This is the penance that I now seek and require.”

Summons to me for hearing for peaceful pro-life arrest with Fr. Fidelis in NJ back in 2019. Strange timing to go to court for it nine days after inauguration day 2025. Hoping Trump wins... or it could be the clink for me. Pray God's will be done.

In voting for a President, I'm not looking for someone to canonize. I'm looking for someone whose team will try to prevent the last iteration of the US government going into full oligarchy-totalitarian mode which will certainly persecute Christians. By God’s grace, I’m ready for that if it comes. But for now, it’s our job to try to prevent it.

Every heretic credits antiquity with his errors. But only traditional Catholics trust the Holy Spirit to have maintained every century of the Magisterium to be in tact with its previous century. This obviously includes dogmatic Councils, but not pastoral Councils.

There's a lot of people misusing the term "Overton Window." Let me simplify it for you:

-Overton window (for the right) is amount of truth they can get away with.

-Overton window (for the left) is amount of lies they can get away with.

This is true in Church as much as State.

Some people say you're making a "devotional confession" when you go to confess venial sins without mortal sins. I don't like that term, since venial sins are hardly "devotional." But I do agree we should go to frequent confession even before there's mortal sin. I once heard a good priest say, "Go to confession before you have to go to confession so you don't have to go to confession."
