Note: You can choose any category of USAT or HAT according to your convenience. However, it is recommended to pick a test category related to your field.

b) Merit Calculation:
Your nomination will be determined by HEC on the basis of USAT/HAT scores and quotas determined by the federal government for each province.

FINANCIAL COVERAGE & BENEFITS:
1) Exemption from the payment of tuition fee
2) Monthly stipend:
Bachelor's and Master's Scholarships: monthly HUF 43,700/
Note: In the first year of their studies, non-doctoral students are required to attend the course of "Hungarian as foreign language" offered by the host university and pass an exam at the end of the second semester (except scholarship holders studying in Hungarian). Scholarship holders who do not attend the course will not be able to receive the monthly stipend. The monthly stipend for students who take the course but fail to pass the exam will be reduced to 30,000 HUF per month.
Doctoral level: according to the current Hungarian legislation, monthly HUF 140,000 for the first phase of education (4 semesters) and HUF 180,000 for the second phase (4 semesters)—for 12 months a year, until completion of studies.
3) ​Accommodation: Dormitory place or a contribution of HUF 40,000/month to accommodation costs for the whole duration of the scholarship period.

HEC will pay back the ticket expenses after 2-4 months of your departure, but initially, you've got to book a ticket by yourself.

Additional Advice:
You'll always hear that Hungary doesn't have a strong currency and that the stipend is less than bla bla bla ..... But they aren't going to tell you that Hungary has far better daily wages than Pakistan; you can easily earn 100–150k HUF per month even by working only 16 hours a week. You can earn 1500-2000 HUF per hour in Hungary through non-professional jobs, The life standard, study level, and international exposure are far better than in Pakistan. Hungary is a member of the European Union; you can travel anywhere in the European Union and work without any restrictions during your vacation. You can find many projects and internships during the whole year that are fully funded, and you can travel to many countries through these fully funded projects with a little bit of expense. Which is not going to happen by living in Pakistan. You'll find a lot of job opportunities after your graduation 🎓. In Pakistan, you can't find a job easily. You've got to wait a lot, and there's still no guarantee of a good job.
So don't pay attention to illogical things; just prepare for HAT and get a chance to enjoy the best life moments here.

The application is open between November 15 and January 15 at 6:00 pm according to PST and 2:00 pm according to CEST.

If you're already registered with the HEC Portal, then log in or if you're not registered, then register yourself first. After logging in, make your profile complete, and then you'll find an option in "suggested for" Hungarian Scholarship. Start your application and submit it by the due date.

All applicants are required to provide a HAT or USAT test scores. The applicant must have obtained a minimum score of 50 out of 100 on the HAT or USAT test. Those applicants who have taken the HAT or USAT test on or after January 15, 2023, may upload the test result to the HEC portal for consideration. Without providing a minimum HAT or USAT test score (50 out of 100), applications will not be considered for further processing.

There would also be a USAT and HAT exam at the end of January or the start of February, especially for the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship. ETC will announce another USAT and HAT exam soon. And your scores will automatically added to your application.

Note: While submitting an application online at the HEC website for the exam, do attach a scanned copy of the deposit slip of Rs 1200/- (non-refundable) on account of HEC online Account No. 17427900133401 in HBL, Shalimar Recording Company Branch, Sector H-9, Islamabad. All payments are to be made to HEC through the HBL online facility. This facility is available in all branches of Habib Bank Ltd. (HBL), Pakistan.

Selection Criteria:
Bachelors and OTM:
The USAT (Undergraduate Studies Admission test) test is being held by HEC for the Chinese Scholarship and Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship 2024–25.
This test is only for those applicants who wish to study for their bachelor's or undergraduate degree and OTM in China or Hungary on Scholarship. USAT is also acceptable at more than 12 universities in Pakistan, including Punjab University Lahore. USAT is valid for 2 years.
a) USAT exam:
Bachelor's/One-Tier Master's Applicants have to appear in any of the following exams.

I) USAT-M (For pre-medical students),
II) USAT-E (For pre-engineering students)
III) USAT-GS (General science students)
III) USAT-UG-CS (For ICS Students)
IV) USAT-UG-COM (For ICOM students)
V) USAT-A (For Arts Students)

Master & PhD:

Students have to appear in one of HAT 1, 2, 3, 4 or HAT-General

#Note: You can choose any type of exam; there is no restriction of your previous study or future study program. But the HEC recommendation for specific exams is given above. If you are confident you can perform well in the USAT-G or any other type of exam, you can opt for it. But remember, bachelor aspirants have to choose USAT, and master's or Ph.D. aspirants have to choose HAT.

This post is for those students who want to study in Europe through scholarship.

Study Level: Bachelor, One-Tier Master/Single Cycle Master (Direct Master after grade 12), Master and Doctorate.

Attention Medicine/Dentistry/Pharmacy and Pharmacy aspirants:

You can only apply to four universities in these majors only and you are required of having valid MDCAT Test Result.

Requirements:
1) For bachelors and one-tier masters: HSSC/A Levels/ 3 years of diploma/ 12 years of education.

For Masters: 16 years of education

For a doctorate: 17–18 years of education.
2) English Proficiency Certificate (From your previous institute) stating that your medium of instruction in the previous study program was totally in English and you're capable of studying in English. There is no need for IELTS or TOEFL.

#Note: If you are a final-year student, you can apply as well, but you have to meet the requirements of the selected university by August 1, 2025.

3) Statement of Purpose/Letter of Motivation

You've got to answer these questions in your SOP.
I) Why choose that specific field?
II) Why choose that specific university?
III) Why to choose Hungary
IV) Why not Pakistan? (keep in mind, don't be negative while writing; why not Pakistan?)
V) Your future plan You must include in your future plan that you'll return to Pakistan after graduation. BTW, it's up to you whether you want to return or not 😃 but you've to write it in your future plan)
V) Why you're a suitable candidate

4) Medical Certificate
You can upload a statement in which you need to state you'll provide a medical certificate before April 15 and just sign it with a date. After your final selection by the HEC, get it examined and upload it as soon as possible.

5) Recommendation Letter
Bachelor and master applicants don't need to provide any recommendation letters, but doctorate applicants are required to upload two recommendation letters from your previous two university professors. But it is also suggested that bachelor and master students upload recommendation letters.
6) Acceptance Letter
Only Doctorate students are required to get an acceptance letter from the Professor of the chosen university. You'll have time until March 15. But I would suggest first finding a supervisor, and then submitting your application. It is much easier to find a supervisor. Although you have time until March 15, I know that in some cases, students got the nomination from HEC but failed to get acceptance from any professor of the chosen university.

7) Research Plan
Minimum 2 pages, typed with Times New Roman 12-point font size letters, written in the language of the selected study program.

Note: If you don't have a degree but have a transcript or result card at the time of application, you need to upload a statement in this section that you'll provide a certificate before August 1, 2023. Otherwise, if you don't upload this statement in the degree section, you might be rejected by the university without any screening, even though you've been nominated by HEC.
