Free yourself from worry and put your trust in Allah’s decree

ʿUmar ibn Al-Khaṭṭāb رضي الله عنه said:

“No amount of guilt can change the past & no amount of worrying can change the future. Go easy on yourself for the outcome of all affairs is determined by the decree of Allah. If something is meant to go elsewhere, it will never come on your way, but if it is yours by destiny (written for you), from you - it cannot flee (and you cannot flee from it).”

I begin by apologising sincerely for the long break in communication.
I’ve encountered many issues with my phone, and I have also been traveling.
Unfortunately, during this time, I lost many previous messages on WhatsApp and Telegram.
If you had sent me any important messages or had questions, I kindly ask that you resend them, إن شاء الله, and I will respond as soon as I can.

I deeply appreciate your patience and understanding during this time of absence.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whoever shows patience, Allah will grant him patience, and no one is granted a gift better and more comprehensive than patience.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari)

Please know that you are all in my duas. I ask Allah to protect, guide, and grant you success in this life and the Hereafter. May He grant us all the strength to persevere and make us steadfast on His path.

Again, thank you for your understanding, and may Allah reward you abundantly for your patience.

Alhumdulillah, today there will be a lecture from our noble brother Hakim Muwakil Al Amriki

He is from those who have had the blessing of studying under Sheikh Muqbil al-Wādiʿī (رحمه الله) in Damaaj.

It is highly recommended from those who are able, to come and sit in the sittings of the remembrance of Allah Azzawajal.

The Prophet ‎ﷺ said:
"When a group of people assemble for the remembrance of Allah, the angels surround them, (Allah's) mercy envelops them, tranquillity descends upon them and Allah makes a mention of them before those who are near Him."
(Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2700)

And for
those who are not able to attend, then you can benefit by listening in online via the Masjid Al Imam Muqbil website here.

Sharing Glad Tidings For Coffee Drinkers ☕️

Shaikh Jamaal ad-Din al-Qaasimi (1332 H.) رحمه الله wrote in his treatise:

“It [coffee] is the drink of the writers, teachers, readers of books, educators in the subjects of literature and manufacturing, poets, and the people of literature. If coffee is used after heavy food, then it strengthens digestion and it is appropriate for most residents of damp, foggy, and temperate lands and other than that….

For those who are not accustomed to it, coffee is a precious medicine in this situation because it brings forth the imagination, produces a brilliance of intelligence, and creates a comfort specifically in the easing of work. The witnesses [for that] are from the Scholars and people of literature who use this drink a number of times in a day. Their purpose for that is to consistently have strength in their memory….

Also, for those who are overweight, slow in thinking, lazy, and those whose digestion is difficult. It is most suitable for the Shuyookh and the youth from them, and the men and women from them….

By drinking it, such a person will not be accompanied by disturbance, nor tiredness, and he will remain with a clear, guided mind”.

But, don’t be consistent in excessive intake of coffee as he mentioned:
“Consistency in excessive coffee consumption sometimes leads to pressure in the reproductive organs, except that these symptoms go away by abstaining from coffee.”

[Risalah Fi ash-Shaayi wal-Qahwah wad-Dukhaan (pg. 17-18)]
(“Treatise on Tea, Coffee, and Smoking”)

It is also mentioned in the biography of Imam Abdurrahman bin Naasir as-Sa’di, رحمه الله that he used to prepare a kettle of coffee before his night prayer and drink coffee between the Tasleems in order to give him energy for the prayer.

[Mawaaqif Ijtimaa’iyyah min Hayaat ash-Shaikh al-‘Allaamah ‘Abdurrahmaan bin Naasir as-Sa’di (pg. 34) written by his son]

The Effects Of Sinful Acts on Attaining Knowledge⚠️

Ibn Qayyim رحمه الله wrote:

“Knowledge is a light which Allah casts in the heart and the sinful act extinguishes its light.

When Imam Al-Shafi’i sat before Imam Maalik to learn and read something, Imam Maalik was amazed by his excessive intelligence, brilliant brightness and perfect understanding.

He said to him:
“I see that Allah has cast a light on your heart, do not extinguish it by disobeying Him”.

Imam Al Shafi’i said in a poem:
“I complained to Waki’ about my bad memory and he advised me to keep away from sinful acts. He said that knowledge was a favour from Allah and Allah’s favour is not given to a sinner”.

Shaykh Muqbil bin Hadi al-Wadi’i, رحمه الله, said:

وإنني أقول لإخواني الدعاة إلى الله في جميع البلاد الإسلامية: عليهم أن يشمروا عن ساعد الجد، وعليهم أن يقصدوا بدعوتهم وجه الله، لا لأجل الكراسي، ولا لأجل المناصب، ولا لأجل حطام الدنيا، إن الله لا يقبل من العمل إلا ما كان خالصًا لوجهه.

I say to my brothers who are callers to Allah in all the Islamic lands: They must roll up their sleeves with seriousness and determination. They must intend in their da’wah the Face of Allah alone—not for chairs, not for positions, and not for the fleeting gains of this world. Verily, Allah does not accept any deed except what is sincerely for His sake.

Calling to Allah is loftier than chairs, loftier than positions, and loftier than the fleeting gains of this world.
Allah says: “And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah, does righteous deeds, and says, ‘Indeed, I am from the Muslims’”
[Surah Fussilat 41:33].
