Further details indicate that Mhanna rented the chalet for a month to complete a maritime course at the institute, aimed at enhancing his skills as a civilian maritime officer. According to sources close to the Marine Sciences Institute, Mhanna registered on September 27 to attend a marine sciences course and, due to limited accommodation at the institute, rented a chalet in “Ghalaghili,” between Batroun and Kouba, approximately 400 meters from the institute. He reportedly walked to and from the institute daily.

The abduction reportedly occurred at 4 a.m., with witnesses hearing noise and commands shouted in Lebanese dialect. Witnesses noted that Mhanna was forced to wear a black hood and was struck twice on his face before being taken.

وبحسب المعلومات، فإنّ مهنا استأجر الشقة لمدة شهر لإكمال دورة بحرية في المعهد لتطوير مهاراته كضابط بحري مدني. وأوضحت مصادر مقرّبة من معهد علوم البحار أنّ مهنا تسجّل في المعهد بتاريخ 27 أيلول لحضور دورة في علوم البحار، ونظراً لعدم توفر إقامة في المعهد، استأجر شاليه في محلة “غلاغيلي” بين البترون وكوبا، على بعد حوالي 400 متر من المعهد، وكان يتنقل بين الشاليه والمعهد سيراً على الأقدام.

وتفيد المعلومات أيضاً أنّ عملية الخطف جرت عند الساعة الرابعة فجراً، حيث سمع رفاقه أصوات ضجيج وتفاجؤوا بسماع أوامر باللهجة اللبنانية. لاحظ الشهود وضع غطاء أسود على رأس مهنا، بعدما تعرض للضرب مرتين على وجهه قبل اقتياده.
