What is the difference between Research Design and Research Method?

Research design is a plan to answer your research question. A research method is a strategy used to implement that plan. Research design and methods are different but closely related, because good research design ensures that the data you obtain will help you answer your research question more effectively.

📌Which research method should I choose?

It depends on your research goal. It depends on what subjects (and who) you want to study. Let's say you are interested in studying what makes people happy, or why some students are more conscious about recycling on campus. To answer these questions, you need to make a decision about how to collect your data.

🛑Most frequently used methods include:

Observation / Participant Observation

📌One particular method could be better suited to your research goal than others, because the data you collect from different methods will be different in quality and quantity. For instance, surveys are usually designed to produce relatively short answers, rather than the extensive responses expected in qualitative interviews.

🛑What other factors should I consider when choosing one method over another?

Time for data collection and analysis is something you want to consider. An observation or interview method, so-called qualitative approach, helps you collect richer information, but it takes time. Using a survey helps you collect more data quickly, yet it may lack details. So, you will need to consider the time you have for research and the balance between strengths and weaknesses associated with each method (e.g., qualitative vs. quantitative).

#Quantitative Research

رئیس مرکز جذب اعضای هیأت علمی اعلام کرد: کارگروه ویژه فراخوان جذب اعضای هیات علمی تشکیل شده و فراخوان جذب اعضای هیات علمی اواخر آبان برگزار می شود.
به گزارش اختبار به نقل از خبرگزاری مهر، حسینعلی قبادی درباره برگزاری اولین فراخوان جذب اعضای هیأت علمی در سال جاری گفت: فراخوان جذب اعضای هیأت علمی در سال جاری اواخر آبان ماه برگزار می‌شود.
رئیس مرکز جذب اعضای هیأت علمی وزارت علوم ادامه داد: کارهای مقدماتی برگزاری فراخوان جذب آغاز شده و کارگروه ویژه فراخوان جذب اعضای هیأت علمی تشکیل شده است.
فراخوان جذب اعضای هیأت علمی دانشگاه‌ها بنا به اعلام نیاز دانشگاه‌ها و مؤسسات آموزش عالی جذب اعضای هیأت علمی، سالیانه دو بار معمولاً، شهریور و بهمن ماه برگزار می‌شود و برای فارغ التحصیلان دانشگاهی و حوزوی علاقه مند به فعالیت در حیطه دانشگاهی به عنوان عضو هیأت علمی این فرصت را فراهم می‌کند تا برای جذب ثبت نام کنند.
فراخوان جذب اعضای هیأت علمی وزارت علوم سال گذشته، اوایل شهریور ۱۴۰۲ برگزار شد.
این در حالی است که فراخوان نوبت اول جذب اعضای هیأت علمی در سال جاری هنوز برگزار نشده است.
ضمن اینکه یکی از مشکلات اساتیدی که در فراخوان‌ها جذب می‌شدند این بود که حکمشان توسط دانشگاه‌ها به دلیل عدم صدور کد استخدامی توسط سازمان امور استخدامی با تأخیر صادر می‌شد، از سوی دیگر طولانی شدن این فرایند در وضعیت پرداخت حقوق این اساتید نیز مشکل ایجاد می‌کرد برای همین از سال گذشته رئیس سازمان اداری استخدامی و رئیس سازمان برنامه بودجه توافق کردند که ردیف استخدامی قبل از فرایند جذب اخذ شود.

در جلسه #دفاع دقیقا از چه چیزهایی باید صحبت کنم؟

✅در جلسه دفاعیه، ابتدا از داوطلب خواسته می شود تا کار خویش را معرفی کند که در اغلب اوقات این معرفی، ساده به نظر می رسد. چنانچه داوطلب از کار خود خلاصه ای سنگین و طولانی ارائه داده، ناخوشایند و خسته کننده خواهد بود. در معرفی پایان نامه و رساله به موارد زیر اشاره کنید:

✅ریشه و اصالت کار، ضرورت، اهمیت و هدف؛
✅سابقه علاقه مندی و شرایطی که شما را به انتخاب این تحقیق سوق داده است؛
✅فنون به کار رفته و مشکلاتی که با آن ها مواجه بوده اید و کمک های که برای حل آن ها دریافت کرده اید،
✅نتیجه گیری کلی و مقایسه آن پیش فرض هایی که ابتدای کار داشتید؛
✅آنچه این تحقیق به ارمغان اورده است؛
✅سوالاتی که هنوز برای شما مطرح است؛

به بیانی دیگر می توان گفت آنچه به طور مختصر باید گفت در دفاع مد نظر قرار گیرد عبارت است از:

✅بیان مسئله که موضوع بحث است و ذکر اهمیت مطلب تا توجیهی باشد برای انتخاب موضوع مورد بحث؛
✅بیان مختصری از سابقه کار در گذشته که به موضوع مورد بحث مربوط است و اهمیت کاستی ها متون موجود؛
✅بیان روش تحقیق، سوالات اصلی تحقیق، فرضیات و مشکلات کار؛
✅ارائه یافته ها و تحلیل دادها و نتایج حاصله؛
✅ارائه پیشنهاد های جدید: چنانچه در این بحث افق جدیدی گشوده شده و می طلبد که دیگران در این میدان عمیق تر شوند، لازم است دانشجو پیشنهاد های خویش را مطرح کند و ذکر کند که ورود در آن مباحث در طاقت و استطاعت این پایان نامه نبوده است.

به اختصار می توان گفت که موضوع مورد بحث در روز دفاع باید حول سه محور باشد: نگاه شکلی به پایان نامه و رساله، نگاه روشی به پایان نامه و رساله؛ نگاه علمی و موضوعی به پایان نامه و رساله. هر سه موضوع دارای اهمیت خاصی است و نباید اهمیت هیچ یک تحت الشعاع دیگری قرار گیرد.

✅نکات خیلی مهم
✅ تکیه شما باید بیشتر بر نکاتی متمرکز باشد که به نتیجه رسیده اید و دلایل قاطع برای آن ارائه می کنید.
✅ در ارائه بر مطالبی که هنوز به ان نرسیده اید یا دارای شک شبهه هستند تاکید نکنید بهتر است صرفا به آن ها اشاره و عبور نمایید؛ به عبارت دیگر، نقطه ضعف به دست کسی ندهید و روی مسائل تردید آمیز مکث نکنید.
✅سعی کنید در صورتی که کارتان از ویژگی خاصی همچون تازگی بر خوردار است،حتما آن را مطرح کنید.
✅ شاید بهتر باشد برای صرفه جویی در زمان از ذکر بعضی نکات خوداری کنید. عموما توضیحات اضافی باعث اتلاف وقت و در عین حال ایجاد پرسش های جدید می شود.
